  • 100 ml water,
  • 0.5 tsp dry yeast,
  • 0.5 tsp salt,
  • 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil,
  • 1 cup flour (250 ml, heaped).

Cooking process:

Dissolve salt in water and pour in oil. You can take water at room temperature or lukewarm so that the yeast revives faster. Add yeast.

Add flour and stir it. At first it will turn out very thick and even in appearance dry dough, which separates into separate pieces.

Next, kneading must be done by hand. Gather the dough and knead it thoroughly for about 5 minutes to develop the gluten. Usually with such proportions of ingredients the dough is immediately obtained desired consistency, which does not stick to your hands, but since flour varies even within the same type, you may need to slightly adjust the thickness.

If you have a dough mixer or bread machine, the task can be completely transferred to the equipment.

Leave the finished dough to rise for 40-60 minutes. Flatbreads have a different structure from bread, so the dough does not require long proofing. While the dough is rising, cover it to prevent the crust from drying out.

For small cakes, divide the dough into 4 parts, gather each into a ball and roll out. You can roll out the dough a little thicker or thinner - this changes the taste a little (thin cakes have more crust in relation to the crumb). Try rolling out different thicknesses for the first time to see which option you like best.

Fry the dough on both sides in a well-heated frying pan and cover. Without oil, they do not burn much longer, they have time to fry well, and the taste is obtained as in an oven or on wood.

Today, when we came home from school with our child, we discovered that there was no bread at home. Due to the fact that there is a terrible downpour outside today, I somehow didn’t want to go out in such weather to buy bread. But something had to be decided, because without bread, food is not food. That is why, without thinking twice, I decided to cook bread cakes without yeast and eggs in a frying pan. I remember my mother constantly spoiled my sister and me with them. They always turned out so tasty that my sister and I, even with tea, were not averse to eating them.

And so it happened, when I prepared bread cakes, my child was simply delighted with them, saying that now there is no need to buy bread at all, since the cakes are much tastier. The husband came home from work in the evening and brought a loaf of bread, however, after he tried the bread cakes, he refused it and began to eat them. These are the flatbreads that completely replace bread!
These bread cakes are prepared quickly; it will take you no more than 10 minutes for the entire cooking process. And all this is due to the fact that when preparing the dough, no yeast is added to it.
So, the necessary ingredients:
- 1 tbsp. water,
- a pinch of salt,
- 2.5 tbsp. flour (use flour premium, you can also use hard varieties).
