Pumpkin juice with orange

I made pumpkin juice with orange according to this recipe. Ingredients can be taken in principle in an arbitrary proportion. I've had so many.

  • Pumpkin - 1.5 kg
  • Oranges - 2 large
  • Lemon - 1 pc.
  • Sugar - 250 gr.
  • Water - 1 liter.

You can take a lot more ingredients, especially if you want to roll pumpkin juice for the winter, just double or triple all my proportions, depending on how much pumpkin you have and how much juice you would like to get in the end.

And my ingredients make 3 liters of pumpkin juice.

How to peel a pumpkin

The first step is to peel the pumpkin from a thick peel. How to make it easy? If you had a whole large pumpkin, then you first need to wash it, of course, then cut it into two parts with a large knife.

For a woman, this is not always a feasible task, the pumpkin peel is very dense and it is quite difficult to cut it. So ask your husband, dad, brother, someone male), let them help you in this matter.

Cut each half into small slices, look at the photo for the size of my slice. These same slices are now very easy to clean. Cut them crosswise into pieces, about 2 cm thick. We cut together with the peel. Now carefully cut off the peel from each piece with a knife.

It is easy to cut the peel from pieces of small thickness.

When the whole pumpkin has been processed, cut it into smaller pieces and put it in an enamel pan. The size of the pot depends on the number of pumpkins. I took a 4.5 liter pot.

Fill the pumpkin with cold water so that it covers it all, and rises above the pumpkin by the thickness of a finger.

We put it on the stove, wait for the water to boil, cover with a lid and cook until the pumpkin is soft, I cooked the pumpkin in 30 minutes. Remove from the stove, pour the pumpkin broth into a separate bowl, we will need it later. Beat boiled pumpkin homogeneous mass, that is, we do pumpkin puree I did this with an immersion blender.

Now you need to squeeze the juice from oranges and lemons. I have a juicer, but this time I did not use it, the juice can be squeezed perfectly without it.

We cut the oranges in half, pierce each half several times with a knife, and squeeze the juice from each half. From two large oranges I got exactly a glass of orange juice (I could hardly resist not to drink it right there).

We do the same with a lemon, cut it into two parts, pierced it with a knife several times and squeezed out the juice. From one lemon (I had a large one) I got almost half a glass of juice, maybe a little less.

In the pumpkin add 250 gr. sugar, if you took more pumpkin than in my recipe, adjust the sugar to taste, pour out the pumpkin broth, which we poured into a bowl. We immediately add 1 liter of water here and put it on the stove.

Let the sugar dissolve and add lemon and orange juice, mix, bring pumpkin juice to a boil, reduce heat and keep on fire for another 5 minutes. We turn off the stove.

  • Lemon - 1 pc. (lemon can be substituted for citric acid)
  • If you use citric acid, add it to taste, about 5 gr. for my amount of pumpkin and water.
  • Sugar - 250 gr.
  • Water - 1 liter.

The method of making pumpkin-carrot juice is exactly the same as that of pumpkin-and-orange juice. We cut the pumpkin into pieces, peel the carrots and cut into rings. Put pumpkin and carrots in enamel pan fill with water so that it rises to the thickness of a finger above the vegetables.
