5 gr. gelatin

Soak the gelatin in ¼ cup of cold water, let it swell and dissolve it in a water bath until completely dissolved (do not boil).

Cool and mix with mayonnaise.

Then I pour boiling water over it in order to get rid of the unpleasant aroma and bitterness. Cool the boiled vegetables without water and peel them. Grate the potatoes into large strips.

If you grate the potatoes while hot, they will simply crumble.

Grate the carrots in the same way as potatoes and put them in a bowl. We also chop the eggs on a coarse grater and put them in a bowl. I really love decorating this salad with roses from beet ribbon. I pre-cut it from boiled beets.

Cut into small squares. Now we have smoothly reached the stage of collecting lettuce in layers. The parade starts with the herring. This is followed by onions. Squeeze the onions thoroughly and distribute evenly over the fish. Then you need to apply mayonnaise in a thin layer.

If you have a piping bag available, use it. I simply cut off a small corner of the mayonnaise packet and use it to apply a mayonnaise mesh.

Then we put in the potatoes and again make a mesh of mayonnaise. This time I wanted to make the salad higher, so I repeated the herring, onion and mayonnaise again.
