Start by preparing all the ingredients. Grapes will suit any variety and color. The main thing is that the berries are ripe. Transfer the grapes to a colander and rinse well. Pluck the berries from the bunches. Sort them out and remove the defective fruits.

Remember the berry mass with a crush. If you are going to preserve compote for the winter, you do not need to crush it with a pusher.

After, remove the skins with a slotted spoon. Add the grape mass and chopped apples to the boiling broth. Stir and let boil. Simmer for about 10 minutes to let the fruit release its juice and flavor. At the same time, make the fire a little lower than average so that the water does not boil much.

When all the fruits and berries give up their juice and the broth acquires a taste and color, it's time to bring it to the desired result. As a sweetener, add sugar to taste. Stir and boil for 3-5 minutes. If a original products were quite sweet, it is desirable to add a little citric acid.

Compote brewed from grapes and apples is a drink that can be prepared for the winter. Fruits are perfectly combined, complementing each other. Rolling compote does not take much time. The process is simple, and even a person who has never dealt with spin before can handle it.

Experienced housewives know that an important step in preparing the twist for the winter is the cleanliness and sterility of the cans. A lot of detergents allow you to wash glass containers without additional hassle. Best Option- cold water and soda. The tool will perfectly remove all dirt and will not leave stains on the jar.

After washing, the jars are sterilized over hot steam. This can also be done in any convenient way:

  • using a teapot;
  • multicookers;
  • special device - covers.

You can buy a lid at a hardware store that has a hole in the middle. She puts it on a pan, and a jar is placed on top. Hot steam enters the jar through the hole, and thus the sterilization procedure takes place. 3-5 minutes is enough and the bank will be clean.

How to choose apples for compote

For the preparation of the drink, apples of any variety are suitable. They can be white, yellow or red. If these are sour varieties, more sugar is added when boiling the syrup to even out the taste. Because apples stain weakly sugar syrup, the compote may turn out light. You can add to it blue grapes and the drink will become rich. If the grapes are green or pink, then the compote will have a delicate shade.

Not everyone likes a dark color, and a lightly colored drink looks great in a jar.

In addition to the variety and color, attention is also paid to the size of the fruit. If it is large, it must be cut into 4 parts and the core removed. If the apples are medium, they are thrown into the jar whole. At the same time, they make sure that they crawl through the neck without problems.

Grape preparation

For the preparation of compote, grapes of any variety are taken. It can be white, green, yellow or blue. The hue of the grapes will affect the saturation of the drink. A whole bunch is placed in a jar or berries are cut off.

Grapes must be washed thoroughly. As a rule, the clusters are covered with dust and small midges. Running water will not be able to completely clean the fruit. To do this, the branches are placed in a bowl and poured large quantity water. After 30-40 minutes, the pollution will fall behind by itself.

cooking recipes

There are many ways to prepare flavored drink for the winter. The chosen method affects the taste of the compote. Some take longer to cook. Everyone chooses what he likes the most.

Easy winter recipe

For compote you will need:

  • apples;
  • grape;
  • water;
  • sugar.

Cooking:

  1. Wash apples and cut into 4 pieces. Remove core with seeds.
  2. Also wash the grapes and cut off the brush.
  3. Pour a glass of grape berries and 4 apple slices into prepared jars.
  4. In a saucepan, mix sugar with water, with the calculation of 1 tbsp. sugar per 3 liters of water.
  5. Stir the water to dissolve the sugar.
  6. Bring to a boil and leave over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  7. Pour boiling syrup into a jar in small portions, after lowering a wooden spatula there. This will prevent the container from bursting.

After the jar is full, it can be covered with a lid and rolled up with a key. Containers with compote are covered with a blanket and left to cool completely. At first the color will be light, but gradually it will darken. The drink can be enjoyed not only in winter. It will become drinkable 3 weeks after seaming.

Without sterilization

This method is slightly different from the previous one:

  1. Prepared apples will have to be finely chopped - required condition prescription.
  2. Divide a bunch of grapes into several small ones, and pour all the fruits into a clean, but not sterilized jar. The jar should be 1/3 filled with apple and grape contents.
  3. Place the lids for rolling in boiling water and leave for 5 minutes.
  4. Prepare boiling water and pour it into jars, covering them with lids on top. Leave for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Then drain the water from the cans into a saucepan and put it on the fire to boil again. Add sugar to it and boil the syrup.
  6. Pour the liquid into the jar and seal.

When all the cans are rolled up, turn them upside down and wrap them with a blanket. This action is necessary for further pasteurization. When the drink has completely cooled, take it out to cool place for storage. As a rule, on the 2-3rd day, you can already turn the jars over and take them away.

With Lemon

Citrus fruits added to the drink saturate it with fresh notes. Compote turns out sweet with sourness. It is especially good to use lemon if the drink contains varieties of grapes and apples containing too much sugar. For one jar you will need only 2 slices or 3 semicircles. It is necessary to boil the syrup, and then pour the contents of the cans with it. Before adding lemon to other fruits, it is washed in hot water. This contributes to the exit essential oils to the surface of the skin. Under no circumstances should it be removed. Some housewives add citric acid instead of lemon.

With honey and spices

Various spices can be added to fruit compote. The most popular are honey, cinnamon and cloves. They will give you a drink incredible flavor. If the compote is rolled up with the sterilization of the jars, the spices are poured directly into the fruit jar. The method without sterilization requires them to be boiled in sugar syrup.

Cloves are added to both fruits and vegetables. The spice allows the drink to be preserved better.

Storage Features

Banks with compote are taken out to the cellar or basement. The room must be dry and cool. Glass containers are placed on racks not very close to each other, so as not to break after contact. Compote can be stored no more than 2 years. It is best to drink it in winter and spring, and in the summer to make preparations for the new season.

While autumn generously endows everyone with bright, juicy fruits, do not forget to make compote from grapes and apples, and we will tell you how to cook it correctly and very tasty.

Compote of grapes and apples for the winter - cooking tricks and useful tips

For conservation, you should choose only ripe grapes. Its berries should not be damaged by rot or crushed. If such grapes are found on the clusters, they are removed.

If the grapes are small and will be used in clusters for preservation, they are pre-soaked and only then washed with a stream of cold water. Twigs with large berries no need to fill with water.

Apples, like grapes, should be washed well with water. They should not have wormholes and traces of rot.

After carefully rolling the lid, be sure to turn the jar upside down. If air bubbles flow from under the lid, go over the lid again with a key, or, if possible, take another one.

Cool preservation only under a blanket, turning the containers upside down. Store after the drink has cooled to room temperature.

Perhaps the worst sign of unhealthy grapes, which does not allow it to be used in compotes, is the presence of cobwebs on the clusters. In any case, these grapes cannot be used with whole tassels, and individual berries will have to be additionally examined. The fact is that it is possible to wash off the web with great difficulty, and even a small part of it, once in compote, threatens to spoil the entire harvested volume.
