For example, during summer heat, diseases of the newborn with fever or diarrhea. Pediatricians advise the baby to drink only water for up to three months, then in small doses to introduce fruit juices, from six months - enrich the child's diet with homemade compotes.

To make a home-made drink as useful as possible for a child, you should give preference green varieties apples and give up sugar (you can replace it with honey or fructose). When boiled for a long time, the taste ready drink will be more saturated, but in this case there will be few useful substances in it. In a recipe for an older baby, you can add a pear or apricots. You should not cook apple compote with grapes: these two products do not mix well with each other and can cause bloating in babies, exacerbation of colic, and indigestion.

How to make dried apple compote

From dried apples, you can make a no less tasty and healthy drink than from fresh ones. In favor of dried fruits is the fact that they have a more delicate effect on the gastrointestinal tract, without causing irritation. Hello dear readers! I continue with you to monitor the growth and development of your crumbs, treat their ailments, solve their small (and not so) problems, give you advice, support you and calm you in your fears and worries. How many useful things I have already told you! Today I have at least useful information: we will discuss apple compote for babies. What will he give to the baby when he can be introduced to this type of drink, etc.

Many mothers doubt whether it is necessary to give the baby such a drink, if he already drinks mother's milk, juices (water, tea ...)? For me - there is no need to doubt, it is worth giving such a drink to a baby! Here are some reasons why:

  • Compote contains many vitamins necessary for a small body;
  • It helps to strengthen the immune system;
  • It has a beneficial effect on digestion in those children who have problems with stools (especially if you add prunes, raisins or dried apricots to apples);
  • If you cook a compote with pulp, it will become an additional source of fiber for the digestion of the little one;
  • At elevated temperature, diarrhea or extreme heat, compote can be a great alternative to plain water to make up for the loss of moisture in a small body. After all, not all children like to drink. plain water. Compote here serves as such an unobtrusive "yummy". Especially if you lightly “season” it with a pinch of fructose (such a “ fruit sugar"in powder, which can be bought at any pharmacy, we will return to it later).

At what age do we try

So when can you give the little one such a drink? In general, pediatricians recommend introducing compotes into the baby's diet only after he has tried juices and purees from fresh apples and other fruits. That is, not before the baby is 6 months old.

It is better to start with apples because it is the least allergenic fruit that grows in our area (doctors are against starting with mangoes and other exotic things that are alien to the baby's digestive system). They begin to introduce new food as usual, little by little - from half a teaspoon, gradually increasing the volume if the baby likes the drink.

What fruits to choose for compote

From which apples and how to cook compote for a baby? Better adjust to the season. That is, if you turn half a year old in summer or autumn, give preference to fresh apples, preferably “local” ones, which could not endure a long journey and were not processed for long storage all sorts of chemical stuff. I think you can tell the difference between normal fruits and those loaded with preservatives.

Well, if you start with compote in winter or early spring, when fresh apples have already lost most of the nutrients, stop at dried fruits. Then pay attention that they also do not look too "appetizing" - polished, selected, shiny. Such dried fruits are also processed with various compounds to improve appearance to buy them faster. It is better to buy apple "drying" at the grandmother's market, choosing those that have dried in the sun, and not in the oven, and those that are not too dry - they will be bitter.

What is the recipe for compote for kids from fresh apples

In preparation healthy drink there is nothing complicated for crumbs:

  • take one green apple medium size (greens are less allergenic if your pet is prone to such reactions) and wash it thoroughly by rinsing several times.
  • Cut fruit into small pieces, after cutting out the core with seeds (the peel does not need to be peeled, it contains a lot of useful substances).
  • Dip the pieces in clean (preferably filtered) water - you will need a glass, and put on fire.
  • After boiling, the apple should boil for no more than half a minute. After that, the compote must be turned off and covered with a lid for about an hour so that the apple slices give all the benefits to the water. With this method of preparation, the broth will remain maximum amount vitamins.
  • Let the drink cool down, and you can treat your little one.
  • If you decide to make compote with pulp, then after it is infused, first chop the slices of boiled apples with a blender, then add the remaining liquid. This drink is also hearty.

We cook dried fruits

You will have to tinker a little with dried fruits, because all the moisture has been removed from them, they are quite hard, and in order to get to everything useful, the dry pulp must be thoroughly softened. But there is nothing tricky in this either:

  • We take a handful of dried apple fruits (about 20 grams), rinse thoroughly (you can use a special brush). Make sure the slices are not too stale, wormy or blackened. Rinse a few times to make sure everything is washed off.
  • Then pour over dried apple slices warm water for 20-30 minutes so that they swell properly.
  • Pour a glass of water (250 ml) into an enamel saucepan, put the dryer in it and bring it to a boil.
  • It will take 15-20 minutes to boil dried apple fruits, so that all the benefits of them pass into the broth.
  • Then, in the same way, let the broth brew for 40 minutes. Enjoy your meal to your baby!

By the way, I want to return to the issue of sweetening baby food, which we have already touched on. It is highly undesirable to add sugar to food for babies, and even more so - honey. The first product is completely refined, the second is considered natural and healthy. But at the same time, both of them are terribly allergenic.

So if your baby has a pronounced sweet tooth, sweeten his cereals and compotes with a small amount of fructose. It can be taken even by those children who are allergic to regular sugar.

Let's make a difference

So that the baby does not get bored with compote, you can add others to it seasonal fruit or berries. But at the same time, consider, for example, such nuances:

  • - strawberries or raspberries can cause allergies;
  • - dried apricots, raisins and prunes, as well as fresh plums and apricots, have a laxative effect, so it is useful to add them to compotes for babies suffering from constipation. This is especially true for artificial people - in any case, their food is coarser and more difficult to digest than mother's milk;
  • - after eating compote, for example, with prunes or black currants, the baby's feces can turn into dark color, this is normal;
  • - You can give pears to babies, but this should be done very limitedly, since it happens that this fruit has a fixing effect on a small, still weak intestine. Therefore, compote with pears can be introduced into the diet of a toddler no earlier than from 7 months: carefully and gradually, monitoring the condition of the baby.

How to sweeten

What else I want to draw the attention of mothers, especially inexperienced ones: always have a sense of proportion when mixing new ingredients into baby food. If you are told that an apricot weakens, and the crumbs have constipation, there is no need to feed him a glass of puree from these fruits or pour in half a liter of compote. Still, the body under your responsibility is small, and the doses to it are quite small. Otherwise, you are at great risk of getting diarrhea instead of constipation. So don't go to extremes.

On this, perhaps, our today's conversation can be completed. I will consider this article useful if it helps at least one or two moms feel more confident. Write to me about it, about your successes, offer your recipes baby food- let's discuss them. Don't forget to subscribe to my blog updates - then you definitely won't miss anything interesting! Until a new useful meeting!

Compote for babies, just like drinking water and natural juices, is one of the most important components of the diet. Delicious vitaminized formulations made from fresh fruits, dried berries, prunes or dried apricots, perfectly quench thirst, normalize water balance, saturate tissues nearby necessary components. It is only necessary to understand when and what composition can be given to the baby, what is the best way to cook it and how to do it correctly.

At what age can compotes be introduced into the baby's diet?

In the first month of life, children are recommended to drink only clean water. drinking water, because an unadapted organism can react violently to any unfamiliar component. From the second month, according to indications, it is already possible to give a little tea from chamomile or fennel. Starting from three months, pediatricians are allowed to offer natural or baby juice from apples, apricots and pears. Only at 6 months is the time for compote for babies. Here you need to act according to the following rules:

  1. After six months, it is better for children to give drinks from fresh fruits or berries.
  2. After a year, you can already try a drink made from dried ingredients. This is especially true in winter time when the components lying on the shelves of stores do not please with their taste and composition. Thanks to the natural sweetness, it will be possible to do without sugar, which increases the risk of tooth decay in children.
  3. At first, compotes should be diluted with drinking water. Only when the child gets used to them, the use of a pure drink is allowed.

Given the rich chemical composition compotes, babies are allowed to give them during feeding or immediately after it.

The benefits of natural drinks and the rules for their preparation

Despite the natural composition of home-made compotes, many parents still doubt whether it is worth giving a drink to a child under the age of one. The solution will become obvious if we consider all the advantages of compotes for babies:

  • Even after passing heat treatment, the product contains an impressive amount of vitamins necessary for the normal functioning of the baby's body and strengthening his immunity.
  • Both fresh and dried fruits contain special components that have a beneficial effect on digestion by stimulating the reproduction of beneficial microflora. Without fail, compote of apples and raisins or prunes and dried apricots, as one of the main drinks, should be considered by mothers whose children regularly experience constipation.

Tip: If compote has to be introduced into the menu before the baby has tried complementary foods, then it is recommended to soak the ingredients cut into small pieces for an hour in cold boiled water. This will eliminate excess aggressive components and make the drink a little softer.

  • The children's body is quickly dehydrated, while not every baby can be persuaded to drink plain water. In this case, the introduction of compote for babies into the diet becomes a real salvation.
  • No less useful is a slightly warmed fortified composition when the little one has a cold and needs to drink plenty of water.

fruity or berry compote for a child of 6 months, it is necessary to cook, adhering to the following rules:

  1. Like all new products, compotes are introduced into the diet gradually, starting with half a teaspoon.
  2. Initially, the child should be given a drink prepared on the basis of one product already tested by the baby, for example, green apples. Additional ingredients are introduced gradually, between them you need to wait at least two weeks.
  3. Fresh ingredients can be boiled for no more than 10 minutes, dried - about half an hour.
  4. Adding sugar to a child's drink up to a year is highly discouraged. If a ready-made version it turns out too sour, you need to either change the ingredients or introduce a little fructose, but we will definitely consult a pediatrician about the supplement.

Recipes for making compotes for babies are very simple. The main thing is to choose high-quality components without traces of damage.

Recipes for simple and healthy compotes

Regardless of how many months the child begins to receive compote, it must be prepared from seasonal products. If it's winter, then you should think about dried ingredients. It is better, of course, to start with apples (they can be prepared in advance). Recipes for compotes that are suitable for children under the age of one year are as follows:

  • Classic dried apple compote. We sort through the slices of dried fruits, wash them at least five times in warm water. Bring some water to a boil in a saucepan and add the fruits. Cook for at least 20 minutes, then insist until cool. The volume of water will have to be selected independently, based on the saturation of the drink.

  • Dried apple drink prepared in a thermos. Put a few slices of dried apples in a small thermos and pour a glass of boiling water. We insist for 12 hours. In the morning, pour the dried fruit compote for the baby into the pan, add another glass of boiling water and cook everything for low fire about 10 minutes.

  • Fresh apple compote. We take ripe green fruit medium size, thoroughly wash and clean from the peel and core, cut into slices. Pour the components with water and cook for about 10 minutes, after which we let the compote cool natural way. When this happens, we filter and you can give the baby.

  • Composition of dried apricots and raisins. A few pieces of dried apricots (it is better to cut it into quarters) and raisins are washed, placed in a bowl and poured with boiling water. We insist for at least 6 hours, after which we filter through cheesecloth. boil this product not required, but you can try this option.

  • Plum compote. Berries pour boiling water and defend for five minutes. Then we drain the water, wash the fruits at least 3 times in warm water. In a saucepan with boiling water, dilute a little sugar (or fructose), mix. When the composition boils, add the berries, bring the mass to a boil and boil for at least 20 minutes. The fruits should soften. Such a compote of dried fruits for babies is especially useful for the baby's tendency to constipation and other manifestations of digestive problems.

After the baby gets used to these drinks or upon reaching a year, they can be diversified by introducing additional ingredients e.g. pears, apricots, figs. The proportions can be very different, it all depends on the quality of the products and the preferences of the baby.
