Sort the strawberries, remove the leaves and rinse.

Cut the strawberries in half and place cut side down in the pan.

To fill, combine all the ingredients in the following order: first mix sour cream and sugar, then add flour and starch. Stir so that there are no lumps. Then pour in the lightly beaten egg.

Pour the prepared filling onto the berries. Place the pie in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for 40 minutes. If it browns too quickly, cover the top with foil, making a dome so as not to touch the filling. The filling must also brown, otherwise it simply won’t harden.

Do not remove the pie from the oven immediately; leave it there for another 15 minutes after turning it off. It’s okay if the cake falls slightly, this will inevitably happen, but it will not affect the taste. Allow the cake to cool completely and set. You'll have to wait an hour and a half, or even more.
