Plant milk can be obtained not only from soy, but also from rice, sesame seeds, almonds and other nuts. Solid ingredients beat at high speed with water, white “milk” is formed, which is then filtered and served on a Lenten or diet menu.
By the way, look how it is prepared.
Melon seeds are also suitable for producing milk. Usually, when we cut a melon, we throw out the seeds, but they contain a lot useful substances. So why not take a moment and make a healthy vegan melon milk from the seeds.

Ingredients:
- fresh seeds of one melon,
- 500 ml. water,
- cane sugar to taste,
- flavorings to taste - vanilla, anise, cinnamon.

Recipe with photos step by step:

We usually throw out the melon fibers along with the seeds, but for melon milk we need everything: the seeds themselves and the soft fibers. Place the seeds and fibers into a blender.

Pour in about half a liter of water. The thickness of the milk almost does not depend on the amount of water; the taste is more important - it can be more or less rich.

Beat the seeds with water at the highest speed so that the juices come out of the crushed seeds. You will see how the water becomes whiter, turning into “milk”.

This melon milk does not taste sweet. It must be sweetened with honey or cane sugar. I don’t indicate the quantity, as this is a matter of taste; for some, a couple of spoons will be enough; those with a sweet tooth will have to add more.
If you want to enrich the taste of melon milk, you can add some flavorings: natural vanilla seeds, cinnamon, anise, etc.
Whisk the melon milk again until the sugar dissolves.

The last step is to strain the melon milk as it contains a lot of solid and small particles. It is best to strain through a special bag for nut milk. Or through several layers of gauze. A very fine strainer will also work.

After filtering, we finally have natural nectar in front of us, divine drink- melon milk.
Enjoy its delicate soft taste slowly.
We also recommend watching how it is prepared.
