Greetings to all readers of the “Consumption” blog!

Second day of vacation, hooray! Those who have schoolchildren will understand me! You don’t need to get up half an hour earlier to get your child ready for school, you don’t need to check lessons, supervise trips to music school and other delights of children’s education. Sometimes it seems to me that parents look forward to school holidays more impatiently than the children themselves. At least I'm looking forward to it!

And if you still have a kind, caring grandmother at home, then we can say that you are very lucky. Well, if not, then the problem of how to feed a child who sits at home all day arises. A particularly acute problem is breakfast; after all, soup for lunch can be cooked in the evening.

Usually in such cases I resorted to using a multicooker: set a delayed start for cooking some porridge, so that by the time the child wakes up, the porridge is already ready - it’s quick and easy.

But yesterday they brought my niece, who doesn’t like porridge, to stay with me. So I had to rack my brain and come up with something more interesting.
So today I decided to make hot sandwiches with potatoes for the children’s breakfast. At first glance it seems a little troublesome, but it’s actually very quick, especially if you peel the potatoes the night before and leave them in a pan of cold water.

So, hot sandwiches with potatoes, recipe:

Ingredients:

  • loaf 1 pc.
  • potatoes 4 pcs.
  • egg 1 pc.
  • garlic 1-2 cloves
  • herbs (fresh or dried), salt, pepper to taste

Cooking method

A large frying pan fits 4-5 sandwiches; half a loaf is no more than two frying pans. In total, everything takes 10 minutes, well, plus 5 minutes for preparation. But the sandwiches turn out to be finger-licking good.

The only negative is that it’s better to eat right away while it’s hot. But my girls wake up during the frying process, from a mind-blowing smell. So hot sandwiches with potatoes don’t have time to cool down.

Try making these hot potato sandwiches, you won’t regret it. If you are afraid that this will take a long time, then try it on the weekend first. The family will thank you! Bon appetit!

Recipe No. 1. Potato-egg

A fresh soft baguette or loaf is best suited for such a sandwich. It will need to be cut into small slices no more than 1.5 cm thick. Grease the frying pan with vegetable oil and lay out 6 pieces of bread so that they lightly brown on one side. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. We will need the following ingredients:

  • peeled potatoes - 2 pieces;
  • egg - 1 piece;
  • salt, pepper - to taste;
  • greens (dill, cilantro, basil) - to taste.

Grate the potatoes on a medium grater and mix in a bowl with raw egg. Season with salt and pepper, add chopped herbs. Mix all ingredients thoroughly. You can lay out the filling: turn the baguette slices over with the toasted side up, lay out the filling and cover the pan with a lid. Reduce the heat to almost minimum. After 3 minutes, turn the sandwiches over with the potato mixture down and fry until done (another 7 minutes).

Turn off the stove and leave the hot sandwiches in the pan for a while. With potatoes, eggs and sprinkled with grated cheese, they attract you with an appetizing smell, but there are a couple of touches left.

Serving the dish

The dish is almost ready, but we are missing some sauce. We will prepare it using mayonnaise (can be replaced with unsweetened yogurt). Grind a clove of garlic, add 6 tablespoons of mayonnaise, as well as a small handful of chopped herbs. Mix thoroughly.

Place lettuce or arugula on a flat plate and garnish with cherry tomatoes. Now you can lay out the dish, pouring garlic sauce each (still hot) potato sandwich. This dish cooks very quickly in a frying pan, and the result will surpass all your expectations. Try it!

Now place 2 slices of tomato and 2 tablespoons of potato-cheese mixture on each piece of bread. Cook, covered, until the cheese melts and appears on the sandwiches. golden brown crust. Ready. Serve with cold beer, sprinkled with fresh herbs.

Of all the dishes offered today, this hot sandwich with potatoes (in a frying pan or in the oven) is the most festive. It is somewhat reminiscent of pizza, but made in bread and with juicier toppings.

Filling for the boat

Important to buy proper bread- it should be a baguette (but not very thin) or a loaf. Soft ciabatta would also work. The filling will be prepared from the following components:

  • boiled potatoes - 1 piece;
  • cream cheese - 2 tablespoons;
  • hard - 2-4 tablespoons;
  • bell pepper - half a small fruit;
  • pitted olives (olives) - 4-6 pieces;
  • salt, pepper, herbs - to taste.

First, mix the potatoes (grated or cut into small cubes) in a separate bowl. bell pepper(cut into strips), olives or black olives (slices). Add two types of cheese to this mixture, add salt and pepper if necessary, mix thoroughly. If you have a jar at home sun-dried tomatoes, then add a few pieces to the potato mixture (it’s incredibly tasty!). The filling is ready.

Let's set the boats sailing

Cut off the edges of the loaf (the size is sufficient for your sandwich) and cut them lengthwise into two parts. Using a knife, remove some of the pulp from them. You can grease the bread with any sauce (for example, tomato), then put the filling in each boat. Sprinkle with herbs and cheese. All that remains is to send the boats to fry. - 0.5 loaves,
- 3-4 pcs. raw potatoes,
- 1-2 cloves of garlic,
- a couple of eggs,
- salt, pepper as desired,
- vegetable oil for frying.

Recipe with photos step by step:

Grate the peeled potatoes and also three cloves of garlic. Add garlic if you like it. You need to work with the potatoes quickly so that they do not darken.

Salt and pepper the potatoes, then squeeze out the grated potatoes with clean hands, a lot of liquid will come out.

We drive in chicken eggs so that the filling sticks well to the sandwiches.

We cut the loaf into not very thick pieces, maintaining approximately the same thickness.

Spread on one side of the loaf potato filling, leveling.

Heat well in oil over low heat. Usually I immediately put the frying pan on the fire and while the oil is heating up, I quickly grate the potatoes. I place the sandwiches in the oil, potatoes side down. The frying process begins, the oil and potatoes begin to sizzle.

After 5-6 minutes, I turn the sandwiches over and see that the potatoes have turned brown. I bring the second side to readiness, fry it for about a couple of minutes, because there are no potatoes there and this immediately speeds up the process.

Hot sandwiches with potatoes are ready, which means we serve them right away. Bon Appetite!
