Homemade sweets made from coconut and dates.

Most people love sweets! I don’t know about you, but I count myself among the majority of people with a sweet tooth) At the same time, people usually strongly associate sweets with something harmful and forbidden. You need to at least limit yourself in their use, or better yet, abstain altogether, which of course requires a hell of a lot of willpower! Personally, I am not a supporter of such artificial restrictions in nutrition or in other areas of life.

Rather than constantly exhausting yourself with prohibitions, it is better to once thoroughly understand why exactly this or that product is harmful and what can be useful instead of it. For me personally, knowing what specific destructive processes occur inside my body when I eat chocolate bar or other harmful product, allows me to consciously and calmly refuse these nasty things. After all, in my mind they move from the category of “food” to the category of “poisons”.

The best thing is that there are a lot of healthy sweets that will not harm your health. For example, homemade sweets based on dates. After all, they do not contain sugar, fatty oils, and especially no artificial additives or strange chemical ingredients. Everything is only the healthiest and most natural.

I have already posted the recipe on this site. Be sure to try making these sweets, they are my favorite! Today I want to tell you how to make delicious coconut sweets.

We only need three ingredients:

Coconut - 1 pc.

Dates - 20-30 pcs. depending on size. The ratio of dates and coconut pulp should be approximately 1:1.

Dry coconut flakes (for sprinkling) - a few tablespoons.

I'll tell you a little about how to choose the right dates. In markets and stores, dates are most often sold in sticky sugar syrup. I try not to buy these. Read about how dried fruits are processed and how to distinguish natural dates from chemical ones. I really like Iranian dates of the Kaspiran variety. They are sold in small boxes weighing 600 grams. These are:

They are not processed in any way and the consistency is very soft and delicate. They look like this:

So, how to make coconut sweets:

1. Soak dates in water for 20 minutes room temperature. Before soaking, take out the bones. If these are Kaspiran dates, which I wrote about above, then there is no need to soak them, since they themselves are super soft.

2. When the dates become soft, grind them into a thick, homogeneous paste. This can be done using a blender, meat grinder or mill. In the case of soft Kaspiran dates, you just need to mash them with a fork! Right along with the skin, although if you get confused, you can remove the skin from each date. I don't do that.

3. Open the coconut. Look in my separate article. If you read the article and did it correctly, you should end up with two neat halves of coconut meat.

As a result, you will get headers like this - date paste and grated coconut:

5. Mix dates with coconut. You should get a fairly dense, thick mass.

6. From this mass we form small balls with our hands. This is done simply - by rolling the ball in your palms until it becomes smooth and round. Then all that remains is to roll the resulting balls in dry coconut flakes. Fresh coconut shavings, grated by you, are not suitable for sprinkling, as they are not dry. Dry shavings can be bought in a store or market. Or you can make it yourself by drying fresh coconut pulp in an oven or dehydrator. By the way, you can add store-bought dry coconut flakes to the candies themselves, it’s much easier. But the taste of the sweets will not be as delicate.

That's all, delicious coconut candies are ready! It is better to put them in the refrigerator for a while. There they will finally “set” and become especially tasty. These sweets have a very delicate taste, they literally melt in your mouth) Be sure to try it!

Bon appetit! Treat yourself to healthy vegan sweets!

Have you ever tried to make candy at home? I propose a simple and very delicious recipe homemade sweets based on soft Iranian dates and nuts. I used ground almonds, but walnuts, hazelnuts or pecans would also work. These do not contain artificial colors, flavors, preservatives or stabilizers. A tasty and healthy sweet that will give you and your children moments of pleasure. So, I’ll tell you how to cook delicious candies with your own hands in just 15 minutes.

Recipe for healthy homemade sweets

For preparations nut candies we will need:

  • 400 g dates;
  • almonds 200 g;
  • 4 tbsp. l. coconut flakes;
  • 1 tbsp. l. carob or cocoa;
  • 3 tbsp. l. water;
  • blender and coffee grinder.

First, let's prepare the almonds. It needs to be washed and dried thoroughly on a towel. Place completely dry almonds in a coffee grinder and make almond flour. Remove the seeds from the dates and put them in a blender, add most of the ground almonds (save a couple of spoons for sprinkling), coconut flakes and a little water (literally 2-3 spoons). Beat everything in a blender until homogeneous mass. A food processor with an S-shaped blade is also perfect for these purposes.

The mass turns out quite thick and sticky. We form candies of any shape from this mass, I made round ones. Each candy needs to be rolled in sprinkles. For topping I used almond flour, coconut flakes and carob (you can use cocoa). That's it. Our homemade sweets are ready! They can be eaten immediately.

While I was rolling candy balls, my husband prudently brewed fresh tea. So our sweets lasted literally 10 minutes. It’s a very tasty and healthy yummy treat, I recommend trying it!

Dates grow on palm trees and are also called “berries of life.” By eating a handful of dates every day, we provide ourselves with amino acids and microelements that help the brain function and protect the body from nervous tension and stress. Dates are a powerful antioxidant, strengthen the immune system, normalize heart function and reduce stomach acidity.

Fresh dates are used to make salads, jam, juice and strong drinks.

In our latitudes, dates are most often consumed in dried form, but all useful substances are stored in them. The fruits are recommended to be included in children's and adult menus.

Start a healthy “date” diet with natural sweets.

Date sweets with nuts and bananas

Such sweets can be consumed as a vegetarian and raw food dish. Add any seeds, nuts and dried fruits to its composition. Taste the products during cooking; you may want to add more honey, cinnamon or nuts.

As promised, today there will be a recipe for healthy and tasty raw food candies made from crushed almonds (nut cake), which I had left over after making them. This is the case when, during the cooking process, a certain product appears that can be used to prepare something else, in my case it was delicious and natural candies.

By the way, during the candy rolling, the involvement of additional labor is mandatory :) in general, friends, relatives and loved ones will help you, this is a fun and useful pastime.

To make these vegan sweets you will need:

  • 1 cup almonds (or the remaining squeezed cake from);
  • 1 cup dates;
  • coconut flakes for coating.

For candy topping, in addition to shavings, you can use cocoa, sesame, carob, etc. You can also use any nuts for candies or even mix several types.

1. Remove the seeds from the dates and soak them in water for 10-15 minutes.

2. While the dates are soaking, grind the almonds into flour using a blender or coffee grinder. [If you already have crushed almonds, then of course you skip this step]

3. Drain the water from the dates and squeeze them out. excess water and using a blender, grind it, you get such a viscous paste. Mix this paste with crushed almonds, you should get a dense, moist, but not liquid mass. You can add cinnamon, a little ginger or ground cloves here, but even without these spices the candies will be simply delicious.

4. Let's start making candies, now we need coconut shavings, we need to scatter them on the surface so that we can roll the balls in it. We take the mass with a teaspoon, roll it into a ball with our hands and roll it in shavings on all sides. We added whole almonds to some of the sweets (Anton decided to make vegan Raffaello)

We got 22 raw food candies. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for 1 hour. Keep these healthy sweets It’s better in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days, but I don’t think they’ll last that long.

Greetings, my dear readers! Do you like sweets? I noticed that most of my friends and acquaintances love sweets. By the way, I also belong to this “most sweet tooth” 🙂 Therefore, I decided to make a surprise for you. Today I will tell you how to make raw food candies at home.

These sweets will turn out incredibly delicious. But they say: “It’s better to see once than to hear a hundred times.” Let me clarify: it’s better to try it once than to hear many times about how delicious it is. Therefore, friends, you have a chance to personally appreciate the amazing taste of this delicacy.

However unique taste raw food sweets are not their only advantage. You can safely eat these delicacies and not be afraid that they will harm your health. There are no artificial additives or mystery chemical ingredients. These sweets contain only the most healthy and natural ingredients.

And I will introduce you to the recipe for “Bliss” sweets. These sweets are made from dates and carob. Their recipe is very easy to prepare and only includes a few ingredients. By the way, the ingredients themselves are also very tasty. Therefore, friends, when preparing sweets, try to refrain from eating the ingredients. Otherwise you won’t even get to the sweets :)

A little about the amazing carob

To give chocolate flavor This recipe uses carob powder. Unlike cocoa, it is sweet in itself. Therefore, you don’t have to add additional honey or other sweets.

In addition, carob is lower in calories. It's all about lower fat content - only 0.7 g in carob versus 17.5 g in cocoa.

The calorie content of carob is 222 kcal (per 100 g). For cocoa powder this figure is 374 kcal

The chemical composition of carob is rich and varied. The following components are present here:

  • vitamins of groups B, C, E, PP and others;
  • mineral components (calcium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, etc.);
  • water;
  • dietary fiber;
  • ash;
  • some saturated fatty acids.

And there is no fromamine in carob, so it does not have the allergenicity that is typical plain chocolate. Since carob does not contain phenylethylamine (it is found in regular chocolate), it does not cause migraines.

Therefore, we can say with confidence that carob is a worthy substitute for cocoa. The so-called “healthy chocolate”.

By comparison, cocoa powder contains theobromine and caffeine (tonics) and phenylephylamine (antidepressants). In general, he has a difficult chemical composition. And he has amazing property: able to improve mood and also increase vitality. But there is also reverse side medals": cocoa powder can cause an allergic reaction.

In addition, carob can be eaten without pre-treatment. Well, cocoa seeds must be processed and roasted, and only then do they become edible.

Secrets of making Bliss candies

  • I recommend using royal dates. They are usually sold in a cardboard box. These dates are large and their skin is not dried out, unlike other varieties.

  • Don't like dates? Then you can make something delicious from bananas and prunes. The amount of ingredients depends on how much candy you are making. For a small amount, it is usually enough to take half a banana and grind it to a puree. Banana puree will give the sweets softness and an amazing flavor. Also take a few prunes. You need to soak it first, otherwise the prunes will be too dry.
  • In general, you have complete freedom of action with the choice of ingredients. That is, you can add whatever you see fit. For example, figs, dried apricots, raisins, etc.

I just have a favor to ask of you. Then write in the comments what ingredients you used and whether you liked the sweets. And share the link to this article with your girlfriends. Surely they have a sweet tooth too. I think they will definitely like this recipe 😉
