We will also look at the composition of green tea, its beneficial properties and contraindications, how to choose it correctly, brew it correctly and with what additives to drink it. Well, everyone is ready, armed with a cup of tea, then let’s go.

The popular drink green tea – its benefits and harms for women’s health

To understand where the benefits lie and whether green tea is harmful to women’s health, you need to understand the following things:

  1. Find out what minerals and vitamins the tea leaf contains, that is, find out its chemical composition;
  2. Based on the resulting composition, find out what beneficial properties green tea has;
  3. And finally, check our drink for contraindications.

Whatever you say, tea is a plant with healing abilities, therefore, it must also have its own mineral vitamin composition, and a set of various healing properties, and at least a small list of contraindications. Let's study all this, and then we will understand whether green tea is harmful or beneficial, whether we need it or not.

Chemical and vitamin composition of green tea

From scientific sources I learned that tea leaves contain up to 300 different vitamins, minerals, micro and macroelements. Scientists admit that the full list of benefits included in green tea has not yet been fully clarified, but they claim that each green leaf of this plant contains almost all vitamins known today and most of the mineral and biological substances. Here are the most basic components of this list:

  • Biologically active substances - tannins, alkaloids, nonessential and essential amino acids, vegetable protein, tannins, catechins, pectins and caffeine, called theine;
  • Macro and microelements - manganese, copper, zinc, phosphorus, fluorine, magnesium, potassium, calcium, iron, sodium, silicon, iodine, gold and many others
  • Vitamins – C B PP
  • Organic acids – citric, oxalic, pyruvic, malic, succinic.

In general, a volume is not enough to demonstrate the complete list of healing components contained in green tea, so let’s limit ourselves to the above list and consider the effect of the benefits given in it. Tannins, tannins, catechins, pectins and alkaloids have the ability to cleanse the body of various infections, bind and remove accumulated toxins, prevent the formation of atypical and cancer cells, activate metabolic processes, improve digestion and the functioning of everything gastrointestinal tract, cleanse blood vessels of harmful cholesterol and strengthen their walls, increase overall vitality and immune strength

Plant proteins and amino acids have a beneficial effect on maintaining healthy muscles and the entire musculoskeletal system. This is especially true for smooth muscles, which cannot be pumped up or somehow arbitrarily contracted. Such muscles are found in the walls of the esophagus, stomach, gall and bladder, intestines and uterus. Tea caffeine theine has a beneficial effect on mental activity, increases mental and creative potential, normalizes and heals the entire nervous system, tones vitality, invigorates and improves well-being and mood.

All minerals and vitamins present in green tea are aimed at strengthening the heart and blood vessels, increasing immunity, protecting teeth and bones from age-related destruction, ensuring the normal functioning of the thyroid gland, adrenal glands and sex glands, maintaining the body in a healthy and thriving state. And organic acids, with their varied effects, complement and enhance all the beneficial properties of the components listed above.

From this we can conclude that green tea has great healing and healing power, which is a sin not to use,

let's now look at its beneficial properties and find out whether it has any contraindications.

Green tea - beneficial properties and contraindications for use

First, about the beneficial properties. Judging by the actions and properties exerted on our body by the components included in the drink, green tea has the following healing qualities:

  • Invigorate and improve overall well-being;
  • Strengthen and increase the resistance of the nervous system to stress and negative emotions;
  • Activate all vital processes;
  • Activate hormonal levels and stimulate the production of hormones of the sex glands and adrenal glands;
  • Strengthen immunity;
  • Bind and remove from the body toxins and harmful compounds that come from outside;
  • Protect bones, teeth, nails and hair from destruction;
  • Prevent or reduce the activity of formation of abnormal cells, including cancer cells;
  • Cleanse the circulatory system of harmful sediments and bad cholesterol;
  • Tone and improve the elasticity of the walls of blood vessels;
  • Activate metabolic processes;
  • Normalize digestion and the functioning of the entire gastrointestinal tract;
  • Stop bleeding;
  • Disinfect wounds and stop internal inflammation;
  • Suspend the aging process, that is, have an antioxidant effect.

Agree, the list is impressive and in itself improves your mood. After all, from all the listed beneficial properties we can conclude - drink green tea every day, and your beauty, youth and health will flourish for many years. But is this really so? Let us remember that the hero of our article is a plant, and any natural healer has both a light and a dark side, that is, contraindications, let's study them too.

Contraindications to the use of green healer are based on the same actions of its components. Reflecting on this question, I realized that there are not so many prohibiting factors, but they need to be known, remembered and taken into account. These are the factors:

  1. Increased excitability of the nervous system; under the tonic effect of tea, this unpleasant condition can intensify even more;
  2. If there is an exacerbation of chronic or acute gastritis with high acidity and gastric ulcer, because the acids in tea can worsen inflammation;
  3. If you have stage III and IV hypertension, or a hypertensive crisis, otherwise the caffeine in the drink can provoke even higher blood pressure numbers;
  4. Acute inflammatory processes with high temperature and active sweating, since tea has diaphoretic and diuretic properties, under its influence in such situations dehydration can occur;
  5. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, everything here is strictly individual and under the supervision of a doctor.

That's all the main points prohibiting the intake of green tea. Moreover, all of them are temporary; after they are eliminated, you will again be able to enjoy a delicious, aromatic drink. Now, having dealt with the beneficial properties, composition and contraindications, let’s figure out in which cases green tea will be beneficial and in which it can be harmful. Of course, we will do this taking into account our female body and its characteristics, but let’s start with the pleasant, with the benefit.

The benefits of green tea for women during weight loss, pregnancy and menopause

Of course, we have worries beautiful ladies There are very, very many things regarding your health, but the most important ones are:

  1. Appearance and slim figure;
  2. Pregnancy and childbirth;
  3. The transition from childbearing age to the age of menopause, that is, menopause.

Green tea is credited with simply miraculous properties and is considered almost a panacea for weight loss. It is considered a magical sedative and a remedy for any toxicosis in pregnant women. They sing his praises, praising him to the skies as a deliverer from hypertension and hot flashes during menopause. But is all this true, or is it just another myth and marketing ploy, and they are trying to deceive us again? Let's figure it out.

The role of green tea in the process of losing weight

Above, we found out that our green drink is able to absorb and remove waste and toxins, improve overall metabolism, enhance the production of digestive enzymes and increase the secretion of hydrochloric acid and gastric juice. All this has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the body as a whole and promotes weight loss if, for example, you combine drinking green tea with fitness or shaping, diet or simply a rational healthy diet, fasting days and similar activities. But I have not found information anywhere about the fat-burning abilities of this drink, because they do not exist, it is a myth spread to increase sales, and nothing more.

Yes, green tea will help you lose a few extra pounds, but not because it supposedly dissolves and removes fat, but because it helps to activate the metabolism of various substances in the body. Weight loss here will occur due to removal excess water, decay products and intestinal deposits. Moreover, this will only happen when tea is combined with proper nutrition and an active lifestyle, that is, the combination of drink and gluttony will not give any results, except that it will make it easier to digest heavy fatty foods.

Is green tea good for pregnancy?

Here we must take into account not only the beneficial properties of the drink, but also the characteristics of the body of a pregnant woman. We have already talked about the beneficial properties above, but let’s remember the features now. So, the most unpleasant sensations and conditions during pregnancy are:

  • Toxicosis;
  • Sudden mood swings;
  • The consumption of vitamins, micro and macroelements, as well as other nutrients is greater than usual, because the lion's share of them goes to the growth and development of the fetus.

We found out that green tea is a real vitamin and mineral storehouse, and an inexhaustible storehouse, therefore, from this side it seems to be needed during pregnancy. We also know that the theine in the drink tones and invigorates, helps lift your mood and helps fight stress, which is also good. Our tea also perfectly binds and removes any harmful substances from the body, which is why it is credited with the property of pacifying toxicosis. But is green tea as good for pregnant women as it is made out to be?

No matter how regrettable it may be, there is a dark side here too. Firstly, the tonic function of the drink can also play a cruel joke, overstimulating the already overexcited nervous system, and then, instead of complacency, the poor woman will receive even greater nervous overload and mental exhaustion. Agree that such a state is not at all what we sought to achieve. Secondly, some components green drink tone smooth muscles, just this type of muscle is found in the uterus. And the uterus in good shape during pregnancy is a threat of miscarriage, especially in the first half of pregnancy, we need it, I think not. And finally, thirdly, a pregnant woman may simply not tolerate the product itself, or some of its components, in which case the usefulness of tea for her is completely lost.

This begs the question, what if you become pregnant, should you completely throw green tea out of your diet? My opinion is no, you don’t need to throw it away completely, but approach its use with caution, after consulting with your pregnancy doctor. In the first 5-6 months of pregnancy, I would limit it to 1 cup 2-3 times a week, and make the brew very weak.

Green tea and menopause

Women in menopause, like pregnant women, also have their own physiological characteristics, only they are not aimed at the birth of a new life, but at a restructuring from the childbearing state to a state of rest. The most striking menopausal manifestations are:

  • Sudden changes in pressure, more often in the direction of hypertension;
  • Night hot flashes, a feeling of heat throughout the body, which is difficult to simply get rid of;
    • A sharp decrease in the production of female sex hormones, as a result of which the resistance to the sedimentation of bad cholesterol in the blood vessels decreases, the risk of gaining excess weight increases, resistance to stress, immunity and general vitality decrease.

Next, the work of the hormonal system is activated, which means that the establishment of immunity has begun, getting rid of hot flashes, improving appearance, and, as a consequence, great mood. Agree, when at 60 a fit, smiling lady with sparkling eyes and luxuriant hair looks at you from the mirror, you can only rejoice at such a reflection. And when there is only positivity in the soul, then many pains and troubles become frightening and quickly disappear somewhere, which is what needed to be achieved. In a word, green tea is more of a friend during menopause, and you should give it up only if you don’t like it at all or can’t stand it. Now let's summarize a little and see

When can green tea be harmful?

In principle, I have already listed all such situations above, at this point I just want to collect them all together and once again remind you of them, my dears. These are the situations:

  • Individual intolerance to the drink, or some of its components;
  • Mental illness or acute nervous disorders with increased excitability;
  • The presence of chronic stomach diseases (gastritis, peptic ulcer) with increased secretion of gastric juice and high acidity, especially in the acute stage, as well as acute form such diseases;
  • Hypertensive crisis, or the disease itself in the third or fourth degree, when the pressure numbers go off scale;
  • During pregnancy, especially in the first half, when it is easy to provoke premature birth and lose the baby.

In a word, you can and should drink green tea, because it contains so many useful things, but with an eye on your feelings and personal health characteristics. If this drink brings you pleasure and joy, drink it for your health, but if the sensations after taking it bother you, then it is better to put the cup aside and consult a doctor.

Reviews from green tea lovers about its benefits and harms to women's health

Of course, go past this side tea issue I couldn’t and dug through a lot of women’s forums online for reviews about our hero. No matter how hard I tried, I did not come across a single negative statement about green tea; all statements were either positive or neutral.

On my own behalf I can say that I love you most classic drink without flavoring or aromatic additives, and the strength of the brew is average. Tea with jasmine, bergamot and other flavorings are perceived by me as perfume, and putting such an outrage in my mouth is simply impossible for me. How to different types What is your opinion of green tea, what do you like and what do you not accept?

How to drink green tea to lose weight and lower blood pressure

The question of how to properly drink green tea, with or without sugar, with milk or in its pure form, worries many, and I will try to answer it. In general, it is believed that it is better to drink green and any other tea without sugar, and if you really want to sweeten it, then you should choose honey.

Just remember that the temperature of the drink in this case should not exceed 40 degrees, otherwise the beneficial substances of honey will be destroyed and turn into harmful carcinogens.

I’ll tell you about myself that I’ve been doing without sweeteners for 10 years now and I’m quite happy.

How to drink green tea to lose weight

Although green tea itself does not have fat-burning properties, as I have already noted above, it helps to activate metabolic processes, improve digestion and help cleanse the body of toxins and deposits. All this allows you to use the drink as an aid to weight loss. Of course, some rules must be followed, namely:

  1. Remove everything from your diet harmful drinks(soda, sweet juices), alcohol and fatty, sweet, high-calorie foods;

I personally recommend devoting at least 20-30 minutes a day to exercise or some kind of sport, because it helps to lose weight, strengthens the body, and is accessible to every person;

  1. Drink green tea itself without sugar, milk or any other sweeteners or flavoring agents, and for greater effect, you can add a slice of lemon, a little ginger root, and a pinch of cinnamon to the drink;
  2. The amount of product drunk should be 4-5 cups per day, but all this amount must be consumed in the first half of the day; in extreme cases, the last dose is allowed at 17-18 pm;
  3. In order for the tea to really work and not lose its beneficial qualities, it must be brewed only in a ceramic container, filled with water at a temperature of approximately 80-90 degrees, and covered with a lid or convex plate;
  4. And finally, for brewing you should choose only large-leaf elite tea, and not cheap garbage in bags.

How to drink green tea for hypertension

Yes how regular drink by including it in your daily diet in the amount of two to three cups. Just don’t think that the hell numbers will drop immediately after the first dose, green tea is not a good fairy’s magic wand. For it to really help, you need to take it for at least a month.

I would also like to draw your close attention to the fact that this drink is effective only for hypertension of degrees 1 and 2, when blood pressure numbers are not yet so high and the blood vessels have not yet completely lost their elasticity. Of course, tea will only be an auxiliary remedy, so the main therapy prescribed by a cardiologist should absolutely not be abandoned. Remember, green tea is not ponacea, but only a pleasant natural help, which, if all medical instructions are followed, only slightly pushes and accelerates the healing effect.

How to choose and store green tea correctly

I think that every lover of tea should know this healing drink. After all, its benefits depend on the quality of the product, don’t you agree? Here are a few rules that will help you choose and properly store Tea leaves:

  • High-quality tea leaves cannot be cheap and sold in a regular grocery store, so you need to buy it in special tea houses, where the product, so to speak, can be touched and smelled, checked by touch and by eye.
  • When examining a tea leaf, pay attention to its color and degree of curl. Of course, its color scheme will depend on many factors - the place and time of year of collection, the type of bush and type of tea, drying option and much more - but it should consist of shades of green. Any other colors or shades are unacceptable and indicate defective or damaged product. Further, the stronger the leaves are curled, the stronger and more intense the taste will be, and the looser the curl, the softer and more delicate the taste. By the way, aerobatics, when tea leaves are presented straight, as if from a bush, this indicates that they were dried naturally, without the use of any additional technologies.
  • It is also very important that the brew is dry to normal, not wet or overdried. Tea oversaturated with moisture deteriorates much faster, loses its beneficial qualities and even becomes harmful to health. Although an overdried product will last longer, some of the beneficial substances in it are killed by excessive drying. To check the tea leaves for optimal drying, run 2 simple tests. First, take a pinch of leaves and try to grind them into powder; if this works, the tea is too dry. Then crush all the tea leaves in the packet with your finger and look at its behavior. The rapid restoration of the original shape indicates good quality, and a slow or no reaction at all means that the tea is raw.
  • Tea leaves are a hydroscopic and odor-sensitive thing, so it is best to store the tea leaves in a wooden or tin container with a tight-fitting lid in a place away from moisture and toxic foods. If the tea leaves were purchased in a cardboard box and transparent original packaging, then it is better to remove them by pouring the tea leaves into an airtight container made from the above materials.
