Apple roses baking recipe. List of required components

Today I propose to cook a delicious and very beautiful dessert- apple roses made from puff pastry with cinnamon and fruit jam. Despite the apparent complexity, preparing apple roses is quite simple, and the result will undoubtedly please you.

I’ve been wanting to bake such a dessert for a long time, but somehow I didn’t really like the recipes. Finally, recently on the Internet I saw interesting recipe, published on the website Cooking with Manuela - Cooking with Manuela. Using this recipe, I prepared apple roses from ready-made puff pastry, and now I offer it to you with my small remarks.

Ingredients:(for 12 roses)

  • 500 g prepared puff pastry
  • 3-4 sweet red or pink apples with firm, crisp flesh
  • 3 tbsp. l. fruity or berry jam(apricot or, for example)
  • juice of half a medium lemon
  • a little flour to roll out puff pastry
  • cinnamon (you can do without it)
  • powdered sugar for decoration

You can also use honey instead of jam if you like a honey flavor in your baked goods.

Preparation:

Open the package of puff pastry and leave the dough to defrost. For 12 apple roses you will need a whole package, i.e. 500 g.

This is what the opened test package looks like:

Cut the apples in half and clean out the middle.

Cut the apples into thin strips, as thin as you can - 1.5-2 mm.

Pour 1.5-2 cups into a bowl warm water and add the juice from half a lemon. We lower it into lemon water apples so that they do not darken and acquire a pleasant sourness.

Place the bowl of apple slices in the microwave for 3-4 minutes. I kept it on for 4 minutes at 800 watts. Our goal is to heat the apples so much that they bend easily without breaking. At the same time, you must not allow the apples to become soft and fall apart in your hands. Therefore, control the process yourself, from time to time taking out one slice and checking it for flexibility.

When the apples are ready, cool them a little and drain the liquid through a colander. The apples should be almost dry; you can blot them with a paper towel.

Place 3 full tablespoons of jam into a small cup. In the original recipe - 3 tbsp. l. jam plus 2 tbsp. l. water. I don’t entirely agree with this; with water it turns out to be a very liquid mixture. There is no need to add water at all; there is no need for excess liquid for the dough.

We put the cup of jam in the microwave for 30 seconds so that it becomes less thick, then stir until smooth.

Sprinkle a little flour on the work surface and roll out half the dough into a thin layer measuring approximately 27*42 cm. Cut it into 6 strips.

Grease the middle of each strip with jam. Don’t put a lot of jam, just 2 teaspoons are enough, even with the edges, literally spread over the strip, otherwise the jam will leak out during baking and the dough will turn out wet. I put a bit too much, as you can see in the photo, and I regretted it, it was very tasty, but the jam leaked out.

Place apple slices on the strip of dough and sprinkle them with cinnamon. If you don't like cinnamon, you can do without it.

Now carefully roll the dough with apples into a roll. Moisten the tip with water and secure it so that the dough does not unfold.

We get this cute apple rose:

We do the same for the rest of the roses. We post them in silicone molds for cupcakes, so they will retain their shape when baking. If the silicone mold is large, like mine (for 12 pieces), I advise you to immediately place it, still empty, on a baking sheet.

Place the baking sheet with the mold in the oven, preheated to 180-190 degrees, and bake for 45 minutes. During this time, the dough is baked well, but the apples begin to burn. To avoid this, cover the roses with foil 30 minutes after the start of baking. I also recommend baking the roses for the first 30 minutes on the middle shelf of the oven, and the last 15 minutes (when you cover the roses with foil) on the bottom, so that the dough bakes better.

Sprinkle the finished dessert through a fine strainer. powdered sugar.

Apple roses made from puff pastry are fragrant, not too sweet, but, on the contrary, with a slight sourness, with a crispy outer crust and soft inside. You will pleasantly surprise your loved ones if you cook them. It seems to me that it will be very tasty if you serve the still warm, warm dessert along with ice cream.

Baking with fruit always turns out delicious. Try cooking, for example, or or.

That's all for today. Good luck and have a nice day!

Always have fun cooking!

Finally, I suggest watching a short video about the devotion of animals. Two young men raised a lion cub at home. But the moment came when the lion cub grew up and had to be released into the reserve. After some long time young people came to look at their pet. And here is the long-awaited meeting, very touching. How many times have I watched this video, and always at the moment of meeting it gives me goosebumps.

  • 1. It’s a pity to cut such beauty, but I still chose this apple and put it on the cutting board...
  • 2. Adjusted the knife with musat...
    took aim and...
  • 3. ... and cut one half of the apple into thin slices. 2-3 mm each. Like this:
Then I did the same with my other half:
  • 4. To remove the core, what we used to call the core, I used an upside-down cognac glass. You may have a special culinary contraption or something else. Delete:
  • 5. Do you have a microwave? Congratulations! Skip the next few steps with the frying pan and go straight to photo #7. But first post it apple slices on a plate and send it to the microwave for 45 seconds. Then cover with film and set aside for a while. If you, like me, have banished the harmful microwave from your kitchen, melt some butter in a frying pan and...
...just fry our slices for 30 seconds on each side in butter. But don’t overcook - you want the slices to become flexible and not turn into mush.
  • 6. And then put it on a plate...
...and cover cling film. That is, just like the happy owners of microwave ovens! :)
  • 7. Microwavers and frying pans are together again and it's time to get out our puff pastry yeast-free dough. If you don’t have the time or desire to knead the dough with your own hands, you can easily buy it at the supermarket. Cut a couple of pieces of approximately 70-90 grams and place them on a board sprinkled with flour in advance
You need to stretch the dough into thin strips 30-35 cm long and 7-8 cm wide. The thinner your strips are, the more graceful the rose will be. Take a rolling pin and roll, roll, roll. Forward-backward, left-right, right-left:
  • 8. Once the dough is thin enough, take a knife and trim the longitudinal and transverse bulges
Because we need two even rectangles. A pizza cutter comes in handy here:
  • 9. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a glass; we will need it soon:
Grease the molds with pre-melted butter.
Sprinkle the inside of the mold with cinnamon sugar. It may seem that the photo below is a vertical crop and I did not rotate it in Photoshop. In fact, I twist the mold at an angle so that the sugar sticks to its walls:
  • 10. By the way, at the same time you can grease our dough with melted butter...
... and sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top:
  • 11. Now we can start shaping our roses. Take out the apple slices and place them on the dough in a row with a slight “overlap” on top of each other. So that the tops of the slices peek out a little beyond the dimensions of the dough
  • 12. Fold the bottom of the dough so that our apple slices are in a kind of “pocket”, and, of course, grease the dough with butter...
    ... and sprinkle with sugar:
  • 13. The easiest and most interesting part remains. Start rolling the rosebuds from one edge:
    twist and spin further:
The dough is thin and the apples are flexible. No surprises or ambushes:
Moisten the outermost 2-3 centimeters of dough with water and “seal” it so that the bud does not unfold.
  • 14. As the roses are rolled, plop them into the candied molds. Slap one and slap the second:
  • 15. Spread the remaining butter over the tops. But it’s better not to add sugar - it will burn and turn black. Send our roses to the middle part of the oven preheated to 180 C for 35-40 minutes
  • 16. Time flies quickly and this is what we got. But don’t rush to take it out - let the ceramic molds cool for 10 minutes. They are terribly hot and you can get burned. Well, okay, let's not rush!
Once it has cooled down, carefully trim the edges with a knife so that the dough moves away from the walls:
  • 17. Place on a plate and serve as you wish. I sprinkled it with powdered sugar and dropped a green mint leaf nearby. Voila!
P.S. The taste of apple roses is simply incredibly delicate... mmm... Lapota!

Desserts made from puff pastry are very popular and loved by housewives. Fluffy puff pastry goes especially well with fragrant apples. Today we would like to invite you to prepare roses from puff pastry with apples. Such a dessert will delight your guests indescribably, and you will receive a lot of praise and flattering reviews about your culinary skills.

Choosing a baking dish

Any housewife knows how difficult it is sometimes to choose a high-quality and convenient baking dish. For this recipe advise you to choose Silicone forms, since it is more convenient to bake in them and removing the dish after cooking is less problematic. But if you don’t have such a form on hand, then you can use a metal one (just first line it with parchment or grease it with vegetable oil).

For added strength, many people fasten roses with toothpicks. But if the form is chosen correctly, then this point can easily be omitted. WITH convenient form You won't need the correct size toothpicks.

Let's bake

During the cooking process, sometimes another one appears. urgent question. Where and how to cook? You already have a list necessary products, home culinary idea- roses made from puff pastry with apples, recipe with photos step by step. Cook in the oven or in a frying pan? This is the last question we have to look at today.

Experienced housewives who often pamper their family with baked goods can, as a rule, safely boast of a good oven. If you are a novice cook, and the oven in your kitchen leaves much to be desired, then you are better off making roses from puff pastry with apples in a frying pan.

If your oven bakes desserts perfectly, then preheat it to 180 degrees, place the prepared baking sheet with roses and wait about 45 minutes.
Important point. If your dough is not ready yet (you checked it with a toothpick or a match), and the apple petals have already begun to brown or burn, then we recommend using foil. Cover the roses on top and cook the rest of the time like this. Foil will help the dough bake faster and prevent the apple petals from burning.

Serving the dish

Finally, let's talk about serving the dish. As soon as your puff pastry roses are ready, they should be removed from the mold and placed on flat dish or cutting board. We recommend sprinkling a little powdered sugar on top of each rose. If you want a sweeter dessert, then sprinkle more powder. But remember that in this case the roses will not be so impressive. And when there is a little powder, you get a kind of snowy coating that looks original on the red petals.
