Apples baked in dough turn out to be more juicy, because all the juices are stored inside a dense shell. Be sure to remove the peel, even with prolonged baking, it will not soften enough and pieces can spoil the impression of the dish.

Ingredients:

  • yeast-free puff pastry - 250 gr.;
  • two apples;
  • cottage cheese, fat content from 5% - one hundred grams;
  • two tablespoons of raisins;
  • 30 gr. sour cream 20%;
  • a spoonful of ground ginger and the same amount of grated cinnamon;
  • 25 gr. sugar;
  • yolk of a large fresh egg.

Step by step recipe

Preparation of apples does not take much time, so the dough must be thawed in advance. At least an hour before cooking, take it out of the package and leave it on the table.

We wash the apples with water and cut off the peel from them in a thin layer. We remove the “nose”, cut off the tops from the fruits and cut out the middle.

Scald raisins with boiling water and leave in water for 10 minutes. Laying out in a colander, decant all the water from the berries and dry with a towel. We dissolve the raisins in strips, you can use medium-sized slices.

We combine cottage cheese grated on a sieve with raisins, sour cream and ginger, mix.

Roll out the thawed dough into a thin layer. Cut off a small piece, cut the dough into two layers, and cut each half into five more thin strips. From the previously separated piece, we cut out the leaves (4 pcs.) And with a toothpick we put on them the appropriate pattern that imitates the veins.

We fill the cavities in the fruit with the curd filling, return the cut tops to their place and wrap the apples with strips of dough. We overlap a little so that there are no gaps. We attach a sheet of dough to each prepared blank on top.

Lubricate the dough well with an egg, sprinkle with sugar mixed with cinnamon and place the blanks in a mold with low sides. Cover with foil and place in preheated oven.

First, bake for a quarter of an hour at 180 degrees, then remove the foil and bring it to a pleasant golden color for 10 minutes.
