Light dinner for children. Children's dishes for dinner: recipes with photos

You should start preparing your baby for independent life from the diapers. It just seems that the little one will be a “disturbance” for mom while she is preparing dinner. In fact, a two-year-old child can already be trusted to beat eggs, for example. Or sifting flour. A 5-year-old child is already a more experienced assistant. He is capable of mixing a salad, decorating a dish, and making dumplings. Well, a child over 8 years old can already be allowed near the stove. But only under the supervision of mom! The main thing is to choose the right dish.

Here are the best recipes for young chefs!

Sandwiches for the holiday table

The simplest dish that even a 2-3 year old child can easily handle.

What to look for in bins:

  • Bread (sliced).
  • 6-7 leaves of green salad.
  • A couple of tablespoons of mayonnaise.
  • Sliced ham and salami.
  • Sliced cheese.
  • Green.
  • Polka dots.

And also pickled cucumbers, olives and boiled carrots (which mom will first cut into circles).

There are no cooking instructions. Because in this case everything depends only on the imagination of the child (and the mother who helps him). Food, as you know, should not only be healthy and tasty, but also... aesthetically pleasing in appearance. And on sandwiches there is room for your imagination to run wild - mice, cats, Smeshariki, marine themes and much more.

Let's stock up on food supplies and get creative!

Crispy cucumbers in a tub - getting ready for a delicious winter

Yes, imagine, a child can cook this too. Real pickles, prepared by the hands of your own son (daughter) - what could be tastier!

Of course, you will have to help a little, but the main work is on the young cook (let him feel involved in the “great”). And if the child is also a fan of crunching a cucumber with potatoes, then cooking will be doubly more interesting. A real grown-up dish for a growing child.

Don’t worry, there are no glass jars or boiling brine in the recipe, and a child over 12 years old can handle this Russian dish on their own.

What to look for in bins:

  • The cucumbers are fresh and small. Quantity - in accordance with the container (about 5 kg).
  • Salt. For 2 liters of brine - 140 g of salt.
  • Various spices - fresh and washed. For 5 g of cucumbers: 150 g of dill, 15 g of garlic, 25 g of cherry leaves, 25 g of horseradish (leaves), 25 g of black currant (leaves) and 2.5 g of hot pepper (optional), bay leaf and peppercorns.
  • Sugar - a couple of tbsp.
  • 2 liters of water.

So, instructions:

  1. Wash the spices thoroughly.
  2. Peel and finely chop the garlic (if the child is not yet trusted with a knife, the mother can do this). We pound it in a mortar with a masher (and this is the child’s task).
  3. We sort the cucumbers, choosing the smallest and thin-skinned ones. Wash thoroughly and soak in cold water for about 5 hours (so that the cucumbers do not wrinkle in the brine).
  4. We take 1/3 of the spices and cover the bottom of the pre-prepared tub with them. Next is a layer of cucumbers, which need to be laid as tightly and vertically as possible (“standing”). Then another layer of spices and another layer of cucumbers. Afterwards, all the cucumber beauty is covered with the remaining spices, and horseradish leaves are laid on top of them.
  5. On top there is a bend on which the load is placed. And only then we water everything with brine. How to make it? Dissolve 140 g of salt in water that has cooled after boiling (warm, 2 liters) and pour in our cucumbers so that they are completely covered with brine.

It's done. Cover with a lid and forget about the cucumbers for a couple of days, leaving the “dish” in the kitchen or room.

On the 3rd day, as soon as the initial fermentation process has started, we hide the tub somewhere dark and cool for at least a month.

Fruit butterflies - for a summer mood!

This recipe is suitable for a child 7-9 years old if he is already allowed to use a knife. However, you can cook “butterflies” even at 3-4 years old, if your mother helps you wash everything, cut out the wings and plan the antennae.

  6. The eyes can be made with a couple of drops of melted ice cream.
  7. Place it on a plate and... make the family happy!

If desired, butterflies can be seated on a “meadow” of currant leaves or hidden among marzipan flowers. By the way, children also love to create the latter.

  5. We clean the nuts (hazelnuts) in advance and lightly fry them, wash the cranberries.
  6. We give the child a plate with nuts and a plate with cranberries - let him decorate the candy.

  2. We carefully and creatively stick the noodles into our sausages so that they stick out halfway from the sausage. Do not portion it so that the noodles do not fall out during cooking.
  3. We put our “buds” into boiling water and wait 15 minutes for them to “bloom”.
  4. Carefully remove with a slotted spoon and let dry a little.
  5. Well, now the most important thing is creating a bouquet. We beautifully lay out the stems with leaves (onion, dill) on a dish, arrange our “flowers” and, at our discretion, add, for example, vegetable butterflies (the principle is the same as for fruit butterflies - see above).

Bon appetit and good luck to the young chefs!

Before allowing your child to prepare simple meals on his own, study with him. It would be better if you prepare a colorful instruction sheet for your baby in the kitchen - which you can also draw with him.

What kind of dishes do your children cook? Share your children's recipes with us!

The child is growing, and the mother has to review his diet from time to time. What is not suitable for feeding a one-year-old baby can be offered to a child who has reached the age of three. What dishes to prepare for your baby, and how to determine what is good for him and what is not? We will offer you several recipes for feeding a three-year-old, and also give you recommendations on how to properly process certain foods.

A child’s menu at 3 years old should be based on proper nutrition (see also:)

First of all, it should be remembered that the digestive system in children by the age of three is not yet fully formed. Gastroenterologists say that the slightest deviations from the norms of quantity and quality of food for such a baby can lead to digestive problems. It is known that gastrointestinal diseases are often diagnosed at the age of 3-7 years.

  • Children who have reached the age of 3 years should be transferred to four meals a day. This means that feedings before bedtime should be discontinued.
  • A child should eat 1500-1600 g per day, of which a third should be milk and fermented milk products. Among them, sour cream, cream, hard and processed cheeses are relevant.
  • Your baby's daily diet should contain meat. These can be soups with meatballs, meatballs, cutlets, baked meat.
  • Hot sauces are prohibited - mustard, horseradish, ketchup with chili pepper.
  • The child's table should be as balanced as possible - it certainly contains proteins, carbohydrates, and fiber. According to standards, children from 3 to 5 years old should eat about 65 g of protein per day, most of which is of animal origin. It is advisable to fill the diet with fats, the amount of which is commensurate with proteins (65 g). More than 85% of the fat consumed should be of animal origin.
  • The menu of a child aged 3-7 years should contain at least 270 g of carbohydrates per day. Note that carbohydrates are found in cereals, fruits and some vegetables. These substances help the body absorb fats and proteins. In this regard, you should not limit your carbohydrate intake.

The best ratio of proteins, fats and carbohydrates in baby food is 1:1:4

Meat, fish, eggs

It is best to boil meat for your baby, but you can steam it, stew it or bake it. This product can be offered with first and second courses. Minced meat (meatballs, steamed cutlets, meatballs in soup) is ideal for feeding babies. In addition, it is important to ensure that this product is not fatty; it is advisable to choose rabbit, chicken, or beef. A child can eat about 80 g of meat per day.

Fish should also definitely replenish the three-year-old’s menu. It can be offered 1-2 times a week. It is advisable to choose marine varieties of fish in order to be able to get rid of bones. Fish can be boiled, stewed, baked, or made into soup. This product contains valuable amino acids and vitamin D.

The benefits of eggs in children's nutrition are undeniable: for three-year-olds they should be on the table 3 times a week

Eggs are also necessary for the child. Egg dishes should be included in the diet three times a week. These foods contain easy-to-digest protein, are extremely filling, and good for your heart and mental performance. You should not give your baby raw eggs; it is better to serve them in the form of an omelet, in a boiled state.

Milk and dairy products

Milk remains an important component of a 3-year-old baby's diet. This product is considered one of the suppliers of protein to the children's body. It is important to offer boiled milk or buy pasteurized milk. Nutritionists believe that a 3-4 year old child can drink up to 300 ml of this product per day.

Fermented milk products should be chosen with medium fat content. Low-fat yogurt and cottage cheese are not very healthy for a baby, and children's cottage cheese with 20% fat content will be a heavy burden for the pancreas.

Porridge

Porridge should occupy a worthy place in the baby’s menu - they are served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cereals contain a lot of useful substances, being carbohydrates. They should be boiled in water, milk, added butter or vegetable oil, and sweetened.

Most often, the porridge becomes boring and boring for the child, so you constantly need to experiment with adding vegetables, fruits and berries to it

It is important that the baby regularly consumes this type of food, which can be offered in combination with other products. For example, decorate semolina and oatmeal porridge with fruit or jam, cook buckwheat in milk or mix with minced meat, cook rice in the form of pilaf or risotto.

Oils

A three-year-old child's diet should include different types of oils. Creamy, added to porridge, spread on bread. Vegetable oils are also necessary for the child as a source of polyunsaturated fatty acids.

It’s good if the crumbs get sunflower, olive, corn, and soybean oils on the table. The main thing is not to overdo it, but to give the oil in small portions as a complement to vegetables, cereals and soups.

Flour and sweets

At this age, the baby can already get pancakes and pancakes for breakfast, and sometimes you can buy him a sweet bun. However, you should feed him such dishes once every two to three days. The baby can be allowed to eat sweets, caramel, and chocolate occasionally, so as not to allow the body to get used to such food.

Empty carbohydrates cause drowsiness, reduce activity and performance, and in large quantities harm the pancreas. An excess of sweets can cause the development of diabetes, lead to obesity, and affect the condition of the skin.

Chocolate has always been children's favorite treat, but the amount of its consumption should be strictly limited.

Vitamins

The vitamins that a baby should receive are found mainly in vegetables and fruits. In this regard, he should receive daily vegetables in raw and processed form, as well as fruits in the form of purees, smoothies, and juices.

Fruit jelly and compotes are also required in the baby’s diet. Salads from seasonal vegetables can be offered to your child as a complement to main dishes. In winter it can be sauerkraut, in summer it can be tomatoes, cucumbers, greens, radishes.

Liquid

It is extremely important to monitor your child's water intake. If your baby lacks fluids, his digestion will become sluggish, which means his body may lack vitamins and nutrients.

The average fluid requirement for children 3-7 years old is 80 ml per kilogram of body weight. That is, a baby weighing 14 kg should drink 1.12 liters of water per day.

The amount of fluid your baby needs is determined by how much fluid he or she loses.

“I cook, I try, I stand at the stove, and he shouts “Fe!” and pushes the plate away. “And what should I feed this child?” my friend complains.
Is this a familiar situation? Dear mothers, I understand you. Sometimes feeding a child is an impossible task. And we even feel sorry not for the products themselves, but for the efforts and time we spend in the kitchen. Children's dishes should be fresh, tasty, and interesting. But how can a busy mother implement all this?

After talking with friends and conducting a small survey, we managed to put together several simple and tasty dishes that our children love. But, most importantly, their preparation does not take much time.

1. Chicken in sweet sauce

Ingredients: chicken, honey, turmeric, coriander, salt, pepper, garlic, orange.
Preparation: The amount of ingredients depends on the size of the chicken. In a deep bowl, mix 2-3 tbsp. spoons of honey, 1-2 tsp. turmeric, a pinch of ground coriander, pepper, salt, squeeze 1-2 cloves of garlic. Add the juice of one small orange. You need to marinate the chicken for half an hour. If desired, you can leave it overnight. Place in a preheated oven for about an hour. The side dish can be mashed potatoes, pasta or porridge. The chicken will have an islandy-sweet taste and look interesting! And you can use the baking time for yourself.

2. Shells with cheese

Ingredients: large shell pasta, seasoned cheese, tomatoes, onions, boiled chicken breast, salt, pepper.
Preparation: Boil the pasta, but 2-3 minutes less than what is written in the instructions. Let the pasta cool.

While the shells are boiling, cut the onion into cubes and fry in olive oil, add salt, pepper, and aromatic herbs if desired. Cut the boiled chicken breast and tomatoes into small cubes. Mix onions, tomatoes and meat. Grate the cheese on a fine grater.
Fill the shell with minced tomato and meat, add cheese on top. Place the shells in a deep frying pan or baking dish, after greasing them with oil. You can put it on fire or put it in a hot oven for 3-4 minutes to melt the cheese.

Can be served with any salad. Cooking time takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

3. Potatoes with cheese

These potatoes are tender on the inside and have a delicious crispy crust on top. Believe me, it does not leave anyone indifferent. Minimum ingredients, minimum time, maximum pleasure!

Ingredients: potatoes, butter, cheese, salt.
Preparation: Choose small potatoes. Cut peeled or well-washed potatoes in half. Place on a greased baking sheet, add salt and a piece of butter. Place in a preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then put a piece of cheese on each potato. Cook for a few more minutes until the cheese melts and browns a little. Can be served with any salad.

4. Chicken liver with sour cream sauce

Not all children love liver, although it is very useful. But this recipe is just a godsend. The liver will become tender, aromatic, and will simply melt in your mouth.

Ingredients: chicken liver, onions, carrots, salt, pepper, aromatic herbs, sour cream, sunflower oil.
Preparation: fry chicken liver on both sides until color changes in sunflower oil in a preheated frying pan. Add diced onion, salt and pepper, and add aromatic herbs if desired. After a few minutes, add the carrots grated on a medium grater. Simmer for a few minutes under the lid. Add low-fat sour cream. Add fresh herbs if desired. Simmer for a few more minutes.

You can serve with pasta, potatoes or porridge. With this liver, children will sweep away everything. It takes about 15-20 minutes to prepare, and the taste is simply amazing!

5. Meatball soup

The first courses are very healthy and simply necessary in the children's menu. But is it easy for you to feed your child soup? I think the answer is probably no.
Everyone loves my signature meatball soup because of its beauty, and taste, of course. And it takes 15 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients: minced chicken, potatoes, carrots, onions, green peas, turmeric, small star pasta, olive oil, salt, pepper, bay leaf, herbs.
Preparation: If you have minced chicken lying around in the refrigerator, this is a godsend. Well, if not, then cook it yourself by chopping the meat, adding a small onion, a clove of garlic and salt to taste.

Cut the potatoes, carrots and onions into cubes and make meatballs from the minced meat. Place the potatoes and carrots on the fire, wait until they boil and cook for a few minutes, add the onion, salt, pepper, bay leaf, pasta and turmeric. Cook for a few minutes. Add meatballs and a spoonful of olive oil. A minute before readiness, add the greens. If you have canned peas, add them at the end. If fresh - along with potatoes.

This soup looks very beautiful, the turmeric makes it golden and delicious, and the ingredients of different colors and shapes will definitely interest the children.

6. Fish cutlets

Everyone knows that fish is a very healthy product. But it just so happens that many children do not like fish. These cutlets are delicious, look beautiful and can be disguised as regular cutlets. And they are also useful because they are not fried, but baked.

Ingredients: fish fillet 500 g, 2-3 slices of white bread without crust, onion, hard cheese, one egg, vegetable oil, dill, salt.
Preparation: pass the fish fillet through a meat grinder along with the onion, add an egg, squeezed bread in water, or in milk. Add finely chopped dill, salt, a spoonful of vegetable oil. With wet hands we form cutlets. For beauty, you can give them the shape of stars, fish, hearts. Place on a baking sheet and place in a preheated oven for 15-17 minutes. After this time, sprinkle with grated cheese and place in the oven for another 5 minutes. The cutlets are ready!

7. Carrot cutlets

We adults know that vegetables are healthy. Children are not at all interested in this. But these carrot cutlets should attract the attention of children. There are many variations of this dish, but these two, salty and sweet, are the simplest and most delicious.

Sweet cutlets
Ingredients: 5-6 medium-sized carrots, half a glass of semolina, 2-3 tsp. sugar, one egg, a pinch of salt, vegetable oil.
Preparation: boil the carrots, when cool, grate them, add semolina, egg, sugar, salt. Form cutlets, roll in semolina and fry in vegetable oil. Can be served with jam or jam.

Salty cutlets
Ingredients: carrots, small onion, garlic clove, salt, egg, semolina, dill.
Preparation: Grate boiled chilled carrots, add chopped onion, garlic, finely chopped dill, egg, salt, semolina, stir, form into cutlets, fry on both sides.

8. Omelette with sausage and vegetables

Eggs are undoubtedly a very healthy product. As always, not all children like scrambled eggs. But I think this fluffy, soft and fragrant omelette should interest kids. And if you get a little more creative and add interesting ingredients to it, children will definitely want to try it.

Ingredients: 8 eggs, 1 glass of milk, 1-2 tbsp. spoons of flour, a whisper of salt, several baby sausages, 1-2 tbsp. spoons of canned peas, 1 boiled carrot, 1-2 boiled potatoes, greens.
Preparation: break eggs into a deep bowl, add milk, salt, flour and beat well. Cut the sausage into rings, carrots and potatoes into cubes, finely chop the greens, rinse the peas with water. Add all ingredients to the eggs, mix, pour into a greased baking sheet and place in a preheated oven. This omelette can be served with fresh vegetables or sauces.

9. Mannik

Mannik is a flight of mother’s imagination, and the ingredients can easily be found in any refrigerator.

Ingredients: 1 glass of semolina, 1 glass of sour cream (can be replaced with kefir or taken in half), half a glass of sugar, three eggs, half a teaspoon of soda, you can add vanilla sugar.
Preparation: Mix all ingredients and let stand for a while. Can be prepared in the evening and left in the refrigerator overnight.
Pour into a greased pan and place in the oven for 30 minutes. You can put dried fruits, berries in the manna, or simply pour over your favorite jam or syrup.

10. Curd casserole

Cottage cheese is almost the healthiest dairy product. But my baby categorically refuses to eat it, but the cottage cheese casserole goes with a bang. Over several years of preparation, she has become my best friend and savior when it is difficult to feed the child something. I also love cooking it because you can imagine and experiment during the process, and it’s almost impossible to spoil it.

Ingredients: 1 kg of cottage cheese, 3 eggs, half a glass of semolina, half a glass of milk, vanillin, 1 glass of sugar (to taste, a little less), zest of one lemon, juice of half a lemon, 1 tbsp. spoon of starch.
Preparation: Pass the cottage cheese through a meat grinder or grind in a blender. The more tender the cottage cheese, the tastier the casserole will be.

While you are doing this, pour milk over the semolina. Stir the eggs with sugar, it is not necessary to beat until foamy. Mix cottage cheese, eggs, semolina, add vanillin, pour in the juice of half a lemon, grate the lemon zest on a fine grater, add a spoonful of starch. Mix everything well. You can add dried apricots, raisins to the casserole, after soaking them in water, or berries and fruits. Pour the cottage cheese into a greased pan and place in a preheated oven for 40 minutes until golden brown on top. It's quick to prepare, and in 40 free minutes you can do a lot of useful things.

A child's skills develop gradually. This process is exciting and reminiscent of a game. And if the mother can and wants to set the desired vector, then the child will grow up to be an excellent and irreplaceable assistant. Therefore, teach your child culinary arts from an early age.

What are the benefits of culinary skills?

Allow your baby to wash potatoes or carrots in a basin. Let him put the ingredients in the blender and press the button. Give a piece of dough, let him sculpt various figures or roll koloboks. The sooner you begin to reward your child's work in the kitchen and around the house, the more successful his development will be.

As your baby grows, so do his skills. By the age of two, the child can already walk quite confidently. Participation in cooking will contribute to the development of fine motor skills of the hands, develop coordination of movement, and strengthen muscles. Allow him to help you sort out your shopping bag and put the groceries in their places. Let the dish be salted and sprinkled with herbs. Suggest stirring the thin dough in a bowl and brushing the pastry with a pastry brush. A child at this age will be able to independently peel tangerines, eggs and cut bananas with a non-sharp knife.

From three to five years old, children have already developed motor skills. Therefore, you can entrust more complex and detailed work. For example, roll out pizza dough, measure dry ingredients, peel cooked vegetables. You can give the task of peeling raw vegetables and fruits using a small knife. Show your child how to thread food onto wooden skewers, whip cream with a mixer, and form cutlets or meatballs.

How can a child over seven years old help?

From six to ten years old, for children, working in the kitchen is already an understandable and conscious process. A child at this age can already read. Encourage him to read recipes out loud to you while you cook. This way he will remember the standards applied to products and understand the measures of volume and weight. Under your supervision and control, he will be ready to use the stove and oven independently. My skills have already developed quite well when working with a knife. Therefore, it’s time to trust the work with large knives. But do not forget that at all stages that require precautions, be in complete control of the process. Never be lazy to once again remind about caution and attentiveness when working in the kitchen. Although cooking looks like a fun, interesting and exciting game, the kitchen is not a place for games.

Self-cooking skills will be useful for both boys and girls and will allow the child to feel independent.

What can an 11 year old child cook?

A simple vegetable or fruit salad does not require complex skills. For this dish, suggest chopping onions and greens, chopping cucumbers, carefully chopping tomatoes and bell peppers. Stir, add salt and season with sour cream, mayonnaise or butter. To prepare a fruit salad, ask your child to come up with his own personal recipe. It’s good if a dish that a child of 11 years old can prepare becomes his signature dish, with some secret ingredient.
