  1. Anti-inflammatory effect... The reason for this beneficial effect is the phytoncidal properties of the fruits, which we have already discussed above. Thanks to these properties, bird cherry flour works as a natural antiseptic, actively fighting the pathogenic environment. The phytoncidal properties of the plant are so great that it is able not only to have a preventive effect, but also to actively fight against already developing inflammatory processes of any nature, even venereal.

Harm and contraindications to ground bird cherry

Any product, no matter how useful it may be, has its own contraindications. Unfortunately, the ground bird cherry is no exception. In this case, contraindications, like the healing properties, are explained by the peculiarities of the composition.

Eating bird cherry flour can harm people:

  • Immunocompromised... The fruit of the bird cherry tree contains amygdalin, which, when decayed, releases poison - hydrocyanic acid. And although the content of amygdalin in the plant is small, for those whose immunity is weakened (people who have had serious diseases, pregnant and lactating women) or are not formed (children under 3 years old), bird cherry is still contraindicated in any form.
  • Constipated... As we said above, the fruits of bird cherry contain a large amount of tannins, they have astringent and fixing properties, which helps to fight diarrhea, but with constipation, the situation can only worsen.
  • With severe diseases of the digestive system... Ground bird cherry slightly irritates the mucous membranes, and therefore, with an exacerbation of gastrointestinal diseases, it is prohibited.
  • Diabetic... The fruits contain a lot of sugar, which means that diabetics are undesirable to use them.
  • Allergy sufferers... These or those components that make up the fruit of the bird cherry tree can cause allergies against the background of individual intolerance to the components, in which case the use of the product is strictly prohibited.
Bird cherry has an ambiguous effect on reproductive ability. In ancient times, healers prepared special potions based on this plant, which were recommended for women to use in order to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Some doctors still assure that bird cherry can work as a contraceptive, although this effect is not scientifically substantiated. One way or another, if you are planning a child, it is better to refuse the use of bird cherry flour. However, at the same time, we do not recommend using ground fruits as a reliable method of contraception; it is better to use modern proven methods to prevent unwanted pregnancy.

Bird cherry in our country has always been considered a symbol of love, youth, tenderness and innocence. Amulets made of fruits and other parts of the tree patronized the lovers - they saved them from disputes, quarrels, betrayals.

It was also believed that the plant protects from evil spirits, and therefore there was always special care for bird cherry trees.

Recently archaeologists have found evidence that bird cherry was used by people as early as the Stone Age. The first written mention is found in the works of the ancient Greek botanist Theofast, who described the beneficial properties of the tree's fruits, as well as its bark and leaves. In Russian writing, the first mentions of the plant appeared in the 15th century.

Bird cherry, along with mountain ash, is the favorite of Russian poets and songwriters; many poems, songs, proverbs and sayings have been written about the plant.

The tree has a dark bark - almost black. It is believed that it was this feature that gave the plant the name that it has, because in the old language “cherma” means “dark”, “dark-skinned”.

Can be made from ground, rolled bird cherry or bird cherry flour. Cream - sour cream.

Unfortunately, I do not have a step-by-step recipe with a photo, but I will lay out just the recipe for now, and the next time I bake it, I will definitely take a photo and add it here.

This charming tree came from America, more specifically from the state of Virginia. Therefore, the correct name for the red-fruited variant is the Virginia bird cherry. It differs from ordinary bird cherry not only in the color of the fruits, but also of the leaves - in the fall they also turn bright red.

It blooms in late spring, and after a couple of months you can taste the first fruits. It grows mainly in America, but you can also find it in the southern part of Russia, in the Caucasus, and in other regions.

True, unlike American trees that grow wild, the red-fruited bird cherry in Russia is planted in private plots by amateur gardeners. And not in vain - she is not only beautiful, but also useful.

  • bronchitis, cough of various etiologies;
  • diseases of the genitourinary system, strengthening of men's health.

In any recipe, not only information is given what exactly will help, but also in what dosage a particular remedy should be used, how to cook correctly, what can be added. Parts of the plant are mixed to treat certain diseases.

Fruit

They help with toothache and looseness of the gums, since they contain phytoncides that can actively fight scurvy. The beneficial properties of red bird cherry are also manifested in the treatment of eye diseases - lotions from the decoction of the fruits are good for conjunctivitis.

Sore throat is also easier to treat if you regularly gargle with such a decoction, and for general health improvement - liver, spine, stomach, immunity - honey and lemon juice are added to the decoction of berries. However, such additives are also useful when preparing a decoction to reduce the temperature.

Leaves

The leaves of such bird cherry cope well with diseases of the eyes and throat, but they, like any part of it, have both useful properties and contraindications.

You can gargle with a decoction, and the eyes are treated with both rinsing and applying compresses. And the leaves also have an antiviral effect, therefore they are used in case of an outbreak of diseases as a protective agent. They effectively relieve inflammation and increase immunity.

Bark

Bird cherry jam is a storehouse of useful substances that can improve health, increase resistance to disease, even cope with some diseases. Cooking blanks will not take much time, and the shelves in the cellar will be filled with a fragrant delicacy.

Making homemade cakes using dried, ground and sifted bird cherry has never been a big deal for housewives. Now this is all the more true, because there is a high-quality, completely seedless bird cherry flour on sale from different manufacturers.
The bird cherry gives the cake the taste and smell of almonds. It also contains many useful substances for the body: iron, manganese, zinc, copper, cobalt and magnesium, vitamin C, carotene and flavonoids. Delight your loved ones and guests with a homemade cake!

Variation 1
Dough: Grind 3 egg yolks with 1 cup sugar. Add 2 cups of milk to them, in which pre-dissolve 2 teaspoons of soda. Pour in 2 cups of ground bird cherry and 2 cups of flour. Mix all ingredients thoroughly, then add 3 well-beaten egg whites. The consistency of the dough turns out to be quite liquid, but this is not scary.
The amount of wheat and bird cherry flour can be varied. If desired and for the sake of economy, 1.5 cups of bird cherry and 2.5 cups of wheat flour are added. The consistency is obtained, as a rule, the same as with the above proportion.

Preparation: Divide the dough into three equal parts and bake in turn on oil-soaked paper in the oven or miracle oven, without opening the lid for about 25-30 minutes, so as not to settle. In general, do not rush to open and watch the readiness of the cake. Soak the finished cakes generously with sweet syrup on both sides, for which strain the jam and dilute it with boiled water. Then grease the cakes with sour cream mixed with sugar.
In my opinion, currant jam is best suited as an impregnation for bird cherry cake. Fans of something stronger can add cognac, rum or vodka to the syrup.
The bird cherry cake prepared in this way turns out to be large and tasty.

Variation 2
Dough: Mix 1 cup of ground bird cherry with 1 cup of sugar. Add 2 eggs, 1 tsp. soda, 1 glass of sour cream and 1 pack of melted margarine. Mix all ingredients thoroughly.

Preparation: Divide the dough in two and bake until tender, 20-25 minutes. The finished cakes are soaked in cream.
Cream: Mix 0.5 kg of washed and steamed prunes with 1 glass of chopped walnuts. Add 300 grams of butter or sour cream, and half a can of condensed milk.

Variation 3
