For filling:

Take 350 gr. strawberries

Rinse the strawberries, dry the berries, remove the stalks and cut into large pieces (pieces of berries should be large - do not grind!!!)

Grease a baking dish with butter, put the prepared strawberries there.

If the berries are very sour, you can sprinkle them lightly with sugar (this is optional and to taste). I did not sprinkle it.

To prepare the crumble we need:

  • 4 tbsp sugar (you can use brown sugar)
  • 10 gr. vanilla sugar
  • 170 gr. flour
  • 70 gr. butter

How to make a crumble:

  1. In a separate bowl, mix the sifted flour, granulated sugar and vanilla sugar.
  2. Cut the chilled butter into small pieces and add to the sugar-flour mixture.
  3. Grind to make crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the resulting crumb over the strawberry pieces so that the crumb covers all the berries.
  5. Put the mold in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, bake the crumble for 30 minutes or a little less, the baking time depends on the oven. The golden crust on top will be the guideline.

Crumble I cooked according to the patterns of healthy recipes. So, I replaced the usual whole grain flour and reduced the amount of sugar as much as possible. Keep this in mind, dear sweet tooth, and add not 70, but more - 80 or even 100 g of sugar, but rather try the base in the process and edit to taste.

As for vegetable oil, this is my personal choice. Use buttercream if you like. The classic flour crumble is made as follows: the butter is cooled to a solid state, cut into small cubes and rubbed with the dry part (flour, sugar) until butter crumbs form. But our crumble is not quite classic, we make it on the basis of unground oatmeal, and an appetizing crispy crumb is provided in any case. Therefore, it is better to melt the butter.

  • freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 tbsp. l. (from ½ small lemon)

  • milk 1 tbsp. l.

To prepare the crumble, I used a 24 * 17 baking dish with a depth of 3.5 cm.

    Preheat oven to 190 degrees. Prepare the form in which you will bake the crumble: line it with baking paper, foil or parchment, and grease with vegetable oil so that the cake does not burn.

    Prepare the strawberries: remove the stalks, cut each berry into 2-4 parts.

    In a medium bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, ginger and salt.

    Add the melted butter or vegetable oil to the mixture and stir until smooth.

    Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the cake is a nice brown color and some of the strawberries have darkened.

    While the cake is baking, prepare the icing.
    Sift the powdered sugar, add vanilla and milk to it. Mix dry and liquid with a whisk until smooth.
