Preparation:

Before starting cooking, soak oatmeal in cold water for 10-15 minutes. Pour 100 grams of oatmeal with 1.5 liters of cold water in a saucepan in which we will later prepare the soup.

Peel and chop the onion as desired. Peel the carrots and grate on a coarse grater.

Fry the chopped onions in a frying pan with one tablespoon of olive oil for 2-3 minutes over high heat.

Then add grated carrots, salt, add spices, simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat under the lid.

Peel the potatoes and cut into cubes.

Place the pan with the soaked oatmeal on the stove and bring to a boil. Add potatoes to boiling water and cook for 3 minutes.

Then add the fried onions and carrots and cook the soup for another 5 minutes.

Add salt and spices; if the soup seems too thick, you can add a little more water.
