I also really like this addition to manna:

  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon;
  • 0.5 tsp ground cardamom;
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves;
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger

  • 1 glass semolina
  • 1 glass of kefir
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 orange (optional)
  • 100 gr. butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp baking powder

* Glass 250 ml.

Cooking steps

For the recipe for manna with kefir in the oven, we need regular liquid kefir with 1% fat content. Mix kefir and semolina in a deep bowl.

And then stir thoroughly with a spoon to achieve a homogeneous mass. Set the semolina and kefir aside and let’s move on to other preparations.

Grate the zest from one orange onto the finest grater, similar to what I have in the photo. By the way, now you can buy ready-made dried orange zest in stores, so if you come across such an additive, don’t pass it by - it’s a very useful thing in the household.

Squeeze the juice from half an orange into a bowl with semolina and kefir, and mix thoroughly.

Combine eggs with sugar.

And beat with a mixer into a fluffy foam until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Add all the other ingredients to the egg-sugar mixture: butter, semolina with kefir, orange zest, flour and baking powder.

Mix the manna dough with a mixer until smooth.

Then we pour our future manna with kefir into a baking dish.

How to properly bake manna in the oven

Place the form in the oven, preheated to 190-200 degrees. The grille position is in the middle. Heating top and bottom. Bake the manna on kefir for 40 minutes, and check the readiness with a wooden skewer.

We take the finished manna out of the mold onto a plate and let it cool completely.
