In the shape of a heart

Are you interested in learning how to make a heart-shaped coffee bean topiary yourself? To do this you will need the following materials:

  • coffee beans;
  • cardboard;
  • pencil;
  • scissors;
  • rope;
  • plastic container;
  • cotton wool;
  • strong wire;
  • chocolate color paint;

  • ribbons.

Topiary Heart made of coffee beans

Start creating a heart-shaped topiary by preparing a template of the required configuration. Draw the heart shape you want on the cardboard with a pencil and carefully cut it out with scissors. Soak a cotton swab in glue and use it to add volume to the template. Tie the heart with threads.

After the glue has dried, apply paint to the base of the tree and begin making the trunk according to the instructions above.

Decorate the trunk with ribbons. Attach a loop of ribbon to the heart using glue, and then coffee beans. You can create a pattern of grains - it will look especially impressive against the background of plain paint.

The next step is to assemble the tree. To fix the barrel, use alabaster or a similar product. After completing the assembly, decorate the “Coffee Heart” topiary with ribbons.

On a note! There are quite a few options for decorating and forming heart-shaped topiaries; study the photos of “trees of happiness” before you start creating them. Ready-made selections of beautiful photos will help you choose the most interesting option.

Small tree with a round crown

The simplest method for making such a craft is a small tree with a round crown.

To bring this idea to life you will need the following items:

  • a foam ball for the base (it can be paper or filled with polyurethane foam);
  • coffee beans;
  • glue;
  • wire or other device to imitate a tree trunk;
  • a quickly hardening mixture - for example, alabaster;
  • container for installing a tree;
  • ribbons, colorful paper and other decorative elements;
  • brushes, water and colorful paints.

How to make coffee topiary? Detailed step-by-step instructions for making a coffee topiary suggest starting with the crown. If you don’t have a light ball, make one from available materials. Cover the surface of the ball with grains.

Decorate the tube prepared for the trunk of the mini-tree (this can be a pencil or an unnecessary knitting needle) with tape, ribbons or string. In a container intended for installing a tree, prepare a quickly hardening composition and fix the trunk of the future topiary. Hold the barrel in the desired position until the mixture hardens.

After this, start decorating the bottom of the ball with grains. Glue them onto the curing compound in two layers. Fix the crown and trunk together using glue.

The finishing touch is decorating the tree with beads, bows and other decorative accessories.

Topiary made of coffee and coins

In addition to coffee beans, other accessories can be used to decorate ornamental trees. For example, you can make a topiary consisting of coffee and coins, complemented by lightning.

To bring this idea to life, prepare a spherical base by choosing a suitable lock.

Advice: If you are using foam rubber, start by covering the ball with a loose layer of cotton wool and tightening it with threads. This will ensure better gluing of the grains.

Cover the rounded crown of the tree with a layer of brown paint. After it has dried, attach the zipper (after unzipping it) to mark the place of imitation of scattered coins. Apply the coins with a heat gun - you should start from the center of the crown.

Having finished with the coins, glue the zipper: use heated glue for this.

Decorate the rest of the surface of the ball with coffee beans (two layers). But don't forget to leave room for the topiary trunk. Make a trunk, decorate it with ribbons and combine it with the crown.

Prepare a container to place the lucky tree. Make the container look attractive by wrapping it in paper. Cover the top of the container with grains. Using the hardening compound, fix the topiary and decorate it.

That's all the main secrets of making a mini-tree. Choose accessories based on the interior features of the room in which the topiary will be located.

The design may also depend on the specific occasion - if you are planning to give someone your creation.

Coffee flower tree

A great idea is to make a coffee topiary for the occasion of March 8, decorated with floral accessories, and give such a craft to someone close to you. These can be paper decorative elements, beads, beads, satin ribbons and even jewelry. A lucky tree with a floral design can be decorated with homemade roses, violets and other artificial flowers.

A coffee-flower topiary is created using conventional technology. Decorative elements in the form of flowers are glued to the crown at the final stage of work. The best option is to place them exclusively on one side.

If you want to make topiary with more intricate floral decorations, such as roses, first study workshops that teach you how to create mini-trees from glitter or satin ribbons and other techniques (for example, using the kanzashi technique).

Topiary "Gentleman"

We bring to your attention another idea that is easy to implement in practice - a topiary tree with the beautiful name “Gentleman” made from coffee beans. It will take about three hours to make such a craft.

You can create a gentleman's topiary using a principle similar to the options described above. First make the head, then the body and legs. The body and legs are made of thick wire, which is wrapped with rope or twine to increase strength.

Important! The man must be stable, so he should be glued to a rigid, even base.

Having made a little man, decorate him using available materials: make a hat, a cane and other expressive details.

Topiary Gentleman from coffee

floating bowl

A topiary in the form of a floating cup filled with coffee is a very original craft, which is not so easy to make on your own, but it’s worth a try, because the thing will turn out to be very unusual.

To create such a topiary you will need:

  • coffee beans;
  • wire;
  • super-resistant glue;
  • cup and saucer;
  • acrylic-based paints in white and chocolate shades;
  • fabric (napkin);

Bend the wire along the inner shape of the cup - and along the remaining length in an arc (in this place the imitation of flowing coffee will be recreated). Clean the fat from it using alcohol and attach it to the cup with superglue.

At the bottom of the topiary we will make a mini cake. Insulation will help give it porosity. Make five small round cake layers. Each subsequent layer should be smaller. Before attaching them together with glue, align the edges. Paint the cut areas with white and chocolate paint.

The cut with the missing piece should be porous. Decorate the remaining part with fabric using decoupage technology.

After the craft has dried, trim off the protruding edges, use a heated awl to make a hole in the cake and paint it brown to make it look more realistic.

Pull the wire through the notch and bend it at the end. Make a small niche at the bottom of the cake to disguise the bend in the wire.

Decorate the cake with coconut flakes applied over the acrylic coating. Make a snake-shaped pattern on the saucer using brown paint. Using glue, fix the bent tip of the wire on the saucer. Combine the saucer with the cake.

Decorate the part of the wire that is visible with a napkin. Glue coffee beans onto the frame, pour a little glue onto the cake, mix varnish and dye in equal proportions and cover with an imitation chocolate-coffee stream. You will create a realistic imitation of a cup of coffee with a saucer.

Sunflowers made from ribbons and coffee

To create a topiary in the form of a sunflower from coffee beans you will need:

  • yellow ribbon 2.5 cm wide;
  • green drape material;
  • thin jute twine;
  • Super glue;
  • quick-hardening mixture;
  • wire;
  • pencil;
  • small tennis ball;
  • papier-mâché ball;
  • ruler;
  • flower pot;
  • small scissors;
  • device for burning.

Make a flower leaf from 12 cm of ribbon. Using a burning tool or glue, combine its lower edges. You will need about 40 leaves.

Use papier-mâché and tape to create the inside of the sunflower. Use a tennis ball as the base for the bud. Stick coffee on the base and cover them with colorless varnish. After this, secure the petals around the center of the flowers.

Make a sunflower trunk from wire, treat it with glue and wrap it with twine.

Now it’s the turn of the drape sepals. They are attached with glue to the back of the decorative sunflower. The next step is to attach the flower to the stem. Glue small drape petals to the wire.

We fix the original sunflower tree in a container and wait until the alabaster mixture hardens. Decorate the top with multi-colored straws.

Using a similar technology, but using scarlet ribbons, you can make a coffee topiary “Poppies” or make a tree with roses or dahlias.

Money topiary

A wonderful idea for an original gift is the Money Tree topiary.

To create a coffee and money topiary you will need the following materials:

  • coffee beans;
  • cardboard;
  • rope or twine;
  • bamboo stick;
  • a base for a tree, for example, a coffee cup.

How to make a coffee tree topiary

Decorate the base by wrapping the cup with rope. Use the printed cardboard template of the American currency sign.

Important! The stencil should have three-dimensional slits, since when coffee seeds are glued, most of the noticeable bends will no longer be visible.

By placing the bamboo sticks on the cardboard, make sure that the configuration suits you. If there is such a need, fasten two cardboard templates together. You can wrap them with rope and coat them with glue. After this, cover the dollar with coffee beans, closing all the cavities.

Wrap four bamboo sticks with rope as well. In the place where they will contact the dollar, use coffee beans - they will hold the sign. Having finished with the top, prepare an alabaster mixture to secure the topiary. Place the tree at the base.

Take wooden skewers decorated with rope or coffee beans and glue them to the dollar. Wait for it to dry and decorate with accessories - the original gift is ready.

How to make topiary from coffee and beads

If you are into crafts and have the skills to create miniature jewelry, you can make a coffee topiary from beads.

The most popular method of making a tree of happiness from coffee is the formation of a solid topiary with leaves made of beads with decorative elements from coffee beans. Such balls are made in the usual way: glue is applied to the base, and two layers of grains are applied on top.

Attention! The wire tree must support the weight of the balls, so they should not be made too heavy.

The basis for the tree can be a cup in a saucer attached with glue. Wrap the topiary trunk in a napkin and paint it. Decorate the crown with small accessories, for example, ribbons.

To increase the shelf life of topiary, coat it with aerosol varnish.

DIY topiary made from coffee beans and beads

Judging by the pictures and photos, coffee topiaries are very diverse. Creating crafts for interior decoration is a very exciting activity: see for yourself by making at least one mini-tree with your own hands according to the proposed MKs.

If you like to surprise and delight your friends with non-standard gifts, you will definitely like this type of craft like coffee topiary. After all, all that is required to create it is simple devices and materials, accuracy and patience. Well, a drop of inspiration, of course!

What is topiary, or how far does a coffee bean tree go?

Topiary is a man-made decorative tree. Now it is made from various natural materials and improvised means. This art originated in ancient Rome. The first topiaries were skillfully pruned trees in the gardens of Roman patricians. Gardeners gave the crowns of plants bizarre shapes, thereby creating the likeness of statues and other decorative items.

In its development, topiary has gone through many changes: the modest and painstaking work of nuns in medieval monasteries, decorative trees created on a grand scale in the Renaissance, gardens and labyrinths in Holland and England in the 17th century, etc.

Today, topiary is an incredibly popular souvenir. A tree made from coffee beans, in addition to visual pleasure, brings olfactory pleasure. After all, even after processing, the grains continue to smell, filling the room with a wonderful aroma and creating a cozy atmosphere.

Materials and tools

The main material in the production of coffee trees is, of course, coffee beans. You will also need:

  • ball or heart for the base;
  • paints, glue, paper, tapes;
  • container in which the tree will “grow”;
  • wire;
  • gypsum, putty or other container fillers, etc.

An exact list is compiled when choosing a product option and will be presented below in step-by-step instructions.

Once you become familiar with existing techniques, you can create your own recipe using the items you have on hand.

Even in handmade projects there are unconventional solutions: a Christmas coffee topiary “growing” from a branch cut, and not in a pot, as usual

A gift with meaning

Before you make a coffee tree, think about what meaning you want to put into this gift. Topiaries are a symbol of prosperity and unquenchable vitality (like a tree, in principle), happiness and well-being. By adding some elements, you can adjust the message included in the craft.

Idea! So, if the topiary is intended for newlyweds, there may be two crowns (or small baby trees will be located next to the two large ones).

It is customary to give gifts in the shape of a heart to a loved one. When creating a souvenir for a woman, you can add a lot of small jewelry, ribbons and lace. A topiary addressed to a man should presumably have a strong base, as if emphasizing the reliability of the stronger sex. Based on your knowledge about the person, you can create a unique, special gift.

What interior is “friendly” with topiary?

The coffee tree will fit well into rooms decorated in almost any style. These can be either elaborate classic apartments, or a more formal loft or even hi-tech.

“Delicious” combination of coffee and creamy mint colors is a nice addition to the interior where there is a mint color

Step-by-step instruction

At the moment, there are many variations on the theme of how to make a coffee tree with your own hands. In the instructions we offer, we will combine two technologies - creating a heart-shaped tree and a tree with a round crown, indicating possible options for further actions at crossroads.

Coffee tree step by step:

Step 1. Collection of materials.

In cases where you need to choose, the names of the items will be given as a fraction. So, you will need:

  • Coffee beans.

Advice! If possible, buy good coffee. Evenly roasted, shiny grains selected in size will look much better than sloppily dried and disproportionate grains.

Usually coffee beans are glued flat onto the topiary, but you can also place each grain in a “scale”

  • Blank-base. It can be a ball or a heart: ready-made (ball/toy) or created independently from polystyrene foam and paper/cardboard and cotton pads. Threads are used as is customary for any option for creating a workpiece. You will also need brown paint to cover the base.
  • The material that will later become the tree trunk: it can be a plastic pipe/wooden stick/thick wire.
  • Glue and, preferably, a glue gun.
  • Scissors.
  • Alabaster/gypsum and a container for mixing the solution;
  • Container for wood: store-bought flowerpot/pot/vase/bowl or homemade pot.
  • Double-sided tape.
  • Decorations: beads, beads, ribbons, bows, lace, star anise, carnations, cinnamon sticks, etc.

Step two. Work with the workpiece.

If your topiary is round, you can use a ready-made small ball (ball) or make a ball out of foam plastic (this case is preferable when wire is used as a trunk).

You can also take a ready-made heart, if you can find it, or cut it out of polystyrene foam. The foam blank is covered with paper, wrapped with dark-colored knitting threads and painted over with brown paint.

Idea! There is another option for creating a heart: two identical shapes are cut out of cardboard. Wire or other material for the post is laid between them. The sheets are glued together and then covered with cotton pads until the desired volume is obtained. Next, the workpiece is wrapped with threads and painted.

After the necessary procedures with the base, it is covered with glue and covered with grains. It is better when you can do this in two layers. The first is laid with the flat side inward, the second - on the contrary.

Step three. Shape of the trunk.

The rod we choose is wrapped with twine/ribbon/tissue paper or other materials and glued to the crown. The wire may be bent. In the case of a paper heart, the connection is made earlier. A small hole can be made in other types of workpieces.

Step four. Priming.

We measure the required volume of liquid with the container in which the tree will be planted. Prepare a plaster/alabaster solution. Pour into a pot or vase, insert a tree in the center and let the mixture harden. When the surface becomes dry, cover it with layers of coffee or other material (tea, sawdust, shavings, etc. will do).

To decorate the finished coffee topiary, in addition to ribbons, beads, dried flowers and the like, you can also use various miniature figurines for terrariums

Many needlewomen are familiar with the word “topiary”. There are many master classes that describe in detail how to make various mini-trees, which are real masterpieces. Today we will look at the 4 most popular options for coffee topiaries, which are easy to create at home.

In the modern world, topiary is also called a beautiful composition used for interior decoration.

Even if you have never done anything like this, there is no need to worry. Just follow our recommendations and everything will work out!

What it is?

Agree, such decorative compositions will harmoniously fit into any interior

Even during the times of the Great Roman Empire, this was the name given to a slave gardener. He looked after the decorative areas (topias) of his owners. Every self-respecting Roman had luxurious gardens. Thanks to the hard work of the gardener, trees and shrubs of various shapes grew in the topia - cone-shaped, spherical, columnar. Some even visually resembled specific animals. Then this art was forgotten for a long time. People remembered about fancifully trimmed trees only in the 17th century in France.

Nowadays, the term “topiary” is most often used by specialists in landscape design and floristry. And it should be noted that today topiary is no less popular than in the past. Boxwood bushes and yew are usually used to create them. Specialists give them a bizarre shape and constantly maintain it.

In the modern world, topiary is also called a beautiful composition used to decorate the interior. It is made exclusively from natural materials. Most often, this is a composition with a spherical or cone-shaped top attached to a thin leg, which is “planted” in a decorative pot. The crown (ball) can be created from coffee beans, shells, fabrics, ribbons and even flowers. For decoration you can use various small stones, beads and much more. The main thing is that all these elements fit harmoniously into the overall style of the composition.

This is interesting: Topiary is also called the “tree of happiness,” so this composition will be a wonderful symbolic gift for your friends and family.

DIY coffee-emerald topiary

This is what the finished product will look like

Let's find out how you can create your own coffee-emerald topiary in a glass pot - an unusual and very beautiful decoration for your interior.

Materials for manufacturing

  • Styrofoam balls (3 pieces of different sizes);
  • Coffee beans;
  • Dry flowers;
  • Natural moss;
  • Star anise;
  • Twine (jute);
  • Thick white thread;
  • Thin green thread;
  • Capron;
  • Several bushes of wire of different diameters;
  • Hot glue gun;
  • Foam cone;
  • Glass pot;
  • Decorating elements;
  • Crown made of natural moss
  • Floral cylinder.

Step-by-step instruction

To make the first foam ball we will use some natural moss, jute twine, thin green thread and a piece of wire. Next, let's go point by point:

  1. Warm up the heat gun well and apply glue to the ball. While it is hot, attach the first bunch of natural moss to it.
  2. When the ball is completely green, roll it in your hands to press the moss tightly onto the foam.
  3. Take the wire and make a stem. Wrap jute twine around it, securing it in places with glue.
  4. Tie a green thread at the end of the wire and insert the stem into the crown.
  5. Wrap the thread around the tree crown. This is necessary so that the glued moss does not fall off. Make sure that the thread has a color as close as possible to moss.
  6. Spiralize the stem to make it look more graceful.

Helpful advice: Apply the glue gradually so that it does not have time to dry while you are gluing the moss around the entire perimeter.

Gallery: instructions for making topiary - first ball

To create the first blank you will need: green thread, natural moss, twine, a piece of wire and a ball

The glue must be heated before application.

Natural moss is added to the glue layer

The moss must be firmly attached to the ball

Wire stem

Use twine to make the stem

The stem is added to the crown

The ball needs to be wrapped with green thread so that the moss does not fall off

The stem can be given almost any shape

The first crown of the coffee-emerald topiary is ready. Start making the second one. It will be coffee. For it we need a large foam ball, coffee beans, a piece of wire, jute twine and nylon.

Helpful Hint: To help the coffee beans adhere better to the foam ball, first wrap it with thread or cloth. The proposed option uses nylon. It stretches well, does not slip and has a neutral color.

  1. Cover the ball with beige or brown nylon. Secure the edges with thread or glue.
  2. Secure the edges with grains. Using a glue gun, place all the seeds onto the ball.
  3. Please note that the coffee beans must be mounted with the ribbed side in the middle.
  4. Let them dry completely.

The ball is covered with beige nylon

The grains are attached to the ball with glue

You need to glue the grains with the ribbed side

The second ball of grains is ready. There's one more thing left to do. The last crown will be combined. To make it you need a large foam ball, coffee beans, white thick thread, green thin thread, natural moss, wire and nylon fabric.

  1. Take a small ball. Follow the same procedure as with the coffee ball. Combine grains with moss so that there is an equal amount of them.
  2. Wrap the moss with thread and secure with grains.
  3. Cover the remaining areas with moss. There is no need to attach the grains to moss, since they will stick to it worse than to nylon.

Decorating a small ball

The ball needs to be wrapped with thread

If there are untouched places left, they can be filled with moss

Execution of the third workpiece is completed

Now you have all three basic topiary blanks. Here's what they look like:

Crowns made of moss, coffee beans and a combined crown

Helpful tip: To make the crowns of coffee beans look neater, cover them with a second layer of coffee. This will help hide all the gaps.

Now let's start making the combined barrel. In our example, thin wire and white thread are used to create the first trunk. Wrap the wire with thread, securing it in places with glue. Other stems should differ in color. In the example, the trunks for the other two crowns are milky in color. At the end, connect the trunks to the balls using glue.

Making a combined barrel

Now we begin to “plant” the tree. Prepare a transparent glass container, as well as a special floral cylinder with a through hole. Perform the last stage of assembly step by step:

  1. Insert the wire into the hole. Place some moss on the bottom of the vessel.
  2. Use a glue gun to secure the foam cylinder in the pot.
  3. Insert the remaining trees into the cylinder one by one. Weave them together. Also fix the edges in the cylinder with glue.
  4. Take the moss and arrange it beautifully in the pot.
  5. Use decorative branches to cover the edges of the foam.
  6. Decorate the mound with star anise, coffee beans and dried flowers.

As a filler for the pot, you can use any natural materials that you have on hand. Congratulations, your coffee emerald topiary is ready!

Simple topiary with one crown

Anyone can make such a beautiful topiary!

Now we will look at creating the simplest ball-shaped topiary, which looks no less impressive than other options.

Different technologies and materials are used for its manufacture. For example, the crown of a tree can be made from newspapers, polyurethane foam, foam rubber, and the trunk can be made from sticks or pencils. You can also “plant” topiary in any container: bowls, flower pots, cups, and jars are suitable.

Materials for manufacturing

  • Coffee beans (give preference to expensive ones, they have the best shape and concentrated aroma);
  • Styrofoam ball (diameter 8 cm);
  • A pot or any other container;
  • A plastic tube approximately 25 cm long or any wooden stick;
  • Temperature glue gun;
  • Satin or nylon ribbon;
  • Alabaster;
  • Scissors;
  • Vessel for growing alabaster;
  • Double-sided tape.

Step-by-step instruction

When all the required materials are prepared, you can start making a coffee tree:

  1. We make a hole in the ball into which you will later insert the barrel. Then we cover the workpiece with coffee beans, ribbed side down. Try to place them as close to each other as possible.
  2. After you have completely covered the crown, glue the next layer, only so that the coffee beans are located with the ribbed side up. You don’t have to do this, but then you will see gaps. To glue the ball in one row, paint the base dark brown in advance. But it’s better not to skimp and make several layers. This ball will look much better.
  3. We take a blank for the barrel and tape. We wrap it around the tube at a slight angle. Leave a little unwrapped material at the bottom and top (about 3 centimeters each). Remove the protective film from the tape and wrap the tape onto the adhesive part.
  4. We fill the flower pot with water (3 centimeters below the edges). Pour it into the prepared container, add alabaster little by little, stirring constantly. The solution should resemble a thick paste. The resulting mixture should be poured into the pot. We immediately insert a tree of grains into it. After the alabaster has completely dried, it is advisable to glue the top with several layers of coffee beans. The first layer is ribbed side down, the second is the opposite.
  5. We apply glue to the edge of the trunk and put the finished crown on it. Then we tie a ribbon and form an ugly bow. The crown can also be decorated with any decorative elements.

Before installing the trunk, the pot must be filled with a mixture of water and alabaster

Glue the crown to the trunk

The tree is ready

The second version of topiary made from coffee beans is ready. Agree that it turned out to be no less interesting than the previous one.

Original version of "Baobab"

This topiary looks unconventional and very original.

If you want to create a truly original composition, you can make a topiary with one thick and several thin stems.

Materials for manufacturing

  • 6 foam balls;
  • Knitting threads (preferably dark colors);
  • Aluminum wire (double);
  • Coffee beans;
  • Plaster or alabaster;
  • Jute twine;
  • Flower pot;
  • Glue gun;
  • Masking tape.

Step-by-step instruction

Curious to know what we do before? Let's go point by point:

  1. We take foam balls and wrap them with threads. The ends must be securely fastened. Next, we paste them with grains (the ribbed side inward). We leave a little space untouched so that later we have somewhere to attach the barrel.
  2. We divide the wire into three parts: one is quite long, the other two are shorter. We determine the dimensions by eye; in the future it will be possible to correct them. We divide one edge of the long wire in half (this will be the base of the trunk). We wrap the rubber wire so that the product is stable. We bend the trunk and attach shorter wires in two places using masking tape. Next, we divide all the upper edges into two parts and clean them a few centimeters. Then we bend the wire to form branches.
  3. We give the frame an aesthetic appearance. To do this, wrap it with masking tape, creating a slight thickening at the base, and leave the previously cleaned edges intact. Then we gradually apply glue to the tape and tightly wrap the twine on top.
  4. Lubricate each edge with glue, put on all the balls. Finally, we dilute the plaster and fill the pot with it. When the mixture dries, decorate it with coffee beans on top. To make the crown look more attractive, we glue it over the first layer again, trying to cover all the existing gaps.

Foam balls need to be wrapped with threads and pasted over with grains

Forming branches

To give the branches a more beautiful look, it is better to wrap them with ribbon.

Final stage

That's all, our decorative composition is ready!

In the shape of a heart

This topiary will be a wonderful gift for a loved one.

This option could be an ideal gift for Valentine's Day. Or you can simply give it to your significant other or a loved one you know. Have no doubt: the person who receives such a gift will be delighted!

Materials for manufacturing

  • Brown satin ribbon;
  • Twine;
  • Coffee beans;
  • Glue;
  • Cup and saucer;
  • Star anise;
  • Polystyrene foam in the shape of a heart (you can cut it from a simple ball yourself);
  • Brown paint;
  • Alabaster or plaster.

Step-by-step instruction

What needs to be done to create such a beautiful heart-shaped topiary?

  1. We paste the prepared heart-shaped figurine with paper, then wrap it with threads and make a loop on top. After this, paint the heart with brown paint and let it dry thoroughly. When the heart is dry, glue two rows of coffee beans onto the sides (turning the ribbed side down). Then fill in the middle. We glue to it the second row of grains with the ribbed side up and an anise star. Our heart is ready.
  2. We twist the wire in the shape of a spiral and form several turns at the base. This is necessary to make the structure more stable. We wrap it tightly with twine, securing it with glue, and wrap the ribbon over the large spiral.
  3. We dilute alabaster or plaster with water, place the base of the wire in a bowl, fill it with gypsum mixture and leave it to harden. When the mixture becomes solid, attach the coffee beans to the surface of the bowl.
  4. If necessary, we decorate with additional details - buttons, ribbons, bows, etc. We attach the crown to our stem.

Assembling the structure

Final stage: preparing the pot and connecting the elements

That's it, the heart-shaped topiary is ready! As you can see, it is very simple to make, and the creation process does not take very much time.

Video: how to make topiary with your own hands

Finally, we bring to your attention a video tutorial that describes in detail another way to create a coffee topiary. Enjoy watching!

Topiary has many advantages over indoor plants. It does not need to be watered, constantly sprayed, or fertilized. It is enough to sometimes wipe the dust on the surface of the product and not expose it to high temperatures - for example, on a hot day you should not place it on a sunny windowsill. The fact is that this may cause the glue to melt a little, and the grains will simply float. If trouble happens, simply straighten the grains that have slipped and put the product in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes. And one last piece of advice: don’t be afraid to use your imagination during the making process. Use all your imagination, experiment - and you can create a real work of art!

For beginning needlewomen, making a coffee tree with your own hands may seem like a complex and labor-intensive process, but after just a few minutes of exciting activity, everything will turn out easily and correctly. Such a product, made at home, can be of different sizes and have individual features added at the request of the craftswoman.

Feng Shui meaning of the coffee tree

According to the rules and principles of Feng Shui, the coffee tree has unique properties and characteristics. First of all, its presence in the house helps to increase the well-being and well-being of the family. The coffee tree is considered a type of money tree, so its location in the apartment will favor an increase in cash receipts and an improvement in the financial situation.

Coffee is a famous and powerful talisman because the beans contain new life. Therefore, the product promises success in all matters, strengthening friendly ties and harmonizing love relationships. If you place a coffee tree in the bedroom, it will promote strong and mutual love.

The influence of wood made from coffee beans, which is made by hand, is especially important. In the process of making such a talisman, it is important to be in a good mood, think positively about something pleasant and good, and attract positive energy into the house. Then it will become not just a beautiful piece of furniture, but also a keeper of the warm and cozy atmosphere in it.

Manufacturing Features

Although there are many varieties and variations of coffee bean trees, they all consist of three main parts. The main part is the top of the tree, its crown itself, which is made from the base and covered with coffee beans. It can be based on any solid figure, but most often a ball is used. Although, at the request of the needlewoman, it can be an oval or even a heart. In order to make a spherical coffee tree, you can take any plastic or foam ball, which will subsequently be covered with beans.

The second part is the tree trunk. For beginning craftswomen, it is better to take a straight stick or tube, which can be decorated at your own discretion, for example, wrapped in flying paper or strips of colored paper. More experienced needlewomen can use other uneven structures that will serve as a trunk. It can be dense wire, decorated with thick threads or ribbons. But the simplest option is an ordinary tree branch, which can also be used for needlework.

The third essential part of a coffee tree is a pot or small vase in which it will stand. To do this, you can use any glass or even a small pot purchased at a flower shop. Its decoration depends entirely on the imagination and wishes of the craftswoman. A fixing mixture must be placed inside the pot. For this you can use sand or gypsum. The main condition for filler in pots is reliable fixation of the trunk and the tree itself from coffee beans, made with your own hands. Since most often this design is quite heavy, you need to think about which material will hold the weight better than others.

Varieties

All coffee bean trees can be divided into several main varieties.

Straight tree

It includes one common part of the crown, most often round in shape. The trunk on which it is mounted is most often straight and not very high.

Forked tree

It may have several (even three, four or more) branches extending from the main trunk, on which balls with coffee beans are attached. However, they can be different sizes, or they can look exactly the same.

Heart tree

Most often it is mounted on a straight trunk, and its crown is shaped like a heart covered with coffee beans. A variation of this option could be a heart tree, hollow inside. This not only looks original, but also makes the design easier.

It is up to the needlewoman to decide which shape of the product to choose in order to make it with her own hands. Any variety will look unusual and delight the eyes of everyone who can admire the coffee masterpiece.

Master class: Simple coffee tree

Making a coffee tree with your own hands is not difficult. First of all, you need to select the materials and tools that will be needed for the work. Experienced craftswomen use:

First of all, it is necessary to prepare the crown of the future product. To do this, a plastic ball is wrapped with threads, onto which coffee beans will then be glued. It is important to leave a hole on one side of the ball into which the barrel will be inserted.

When wrapping the ball, you need to ensure that the threads cover the entire surface of the plastic, otherwise it will be difficult to stick the coffee to its surface.

The next step is to glue coffee beans onto the surface of the ball. PVA glue is used for this, although it is much easier and more convenient to use a glue gun. This will allow you to quickly apply glue to the surface of the threads, so that you can then cover it with coffee beans.

Coffee beans are carefully laid out on the glue layer. You should try to place them as close to each other as possible so that the ball is not visible.

After the first layer of coffee beans, you will most likely need to apply another one to fill the voids. This is necessary so that the crown looks solid and neat.

Topiary is a wonderful decorative fantasy tree of happiness that can be made from different materials. It will perfectly decorate any interior. For coffee lovers, I suggest making a fragrant coffee topiary.

To create a simple coffee topiary we will need:

— coffee beans (Arabica variety);
- glue gun;
- ball - base;
- stick - trunk;
— Alabaster – a mixture for plastering;
- water;
- PVA glue, brush;
- paints, brush;
- paper napkins;
- flower pot;
— pink and beige satin ribbons;
- beads for decoration.

Preparing the base - the ball

For the crown of the topiary, I chose a simple rubber children's ball. I've had it on my radar for a long time; children grow up and toys become unnecessary. So a ball of suitable size came in handy. I managed to connect the base and the stick for the barrel together without the help of glue. It fit the size of the ball hole perfectly.

You can use other bases, such as a store-bought styrofoam ball or a plastic kiddie pool ball. Or you can make it yourself, from old newspapers.

Preparing the base

It is quite difficult to combine coffee beans with a rubber base, so we will glue our ball using ordinary napkins and PVA glue using the papier-mâché method. Instead of napkins, you can use regular newspaper. In this case, we will use white paper napkins.

We tear the napkins into small pieces and cover the ball with them. Let it dry for about an hour to an hour and a half.

Paint the resulting structure with brown paint to match the color of coffee beans. This is necessary so that the gaps between the grains are not so visible. You can choose any paint, but it is better to take acrylic.

Gluing coffee beans

Now we begin the most difficult and painstaking part of the work: gluing the coffee beans. You will need to paste the base in two layers. Therefore, we divide all available grains into two parts: small, uneven grains will go to the bottom layer. We will leave the most beautiful, strong and flat grains of the correct shape for the final layer.

Glue the grains using a glue gun. Press them closer together, try to leave as little space between them as possible. Place the second layer of grains as carefully as possible, try not to use a lot of glue so that there is no glare.

Place the first layer of coffee beans with the convex side up, and the second layer down. The main part of the work is done.

Decorating the topiary trunk

Carefully wrap the topiary stick with a beige satin ribbon. In order for the tape to hold firmly, it can be secured with drops of glue along the edges.

Pot decor:

To decorate the pot, take a pink satin ribbon and wrap it around the middle around the perimeter. Add to it a rose made from ribbon. It is done very simply - by folding the tape.

Installing a topiary

In a separate bowl, dilute the solution mixture (I still have Alabaster at home after renovation) to the consistency of thin sour cream. Place the tree in a pot and fill it with solution.

The solution will not set immediately, so you will have to hold the topiary for several minutes. Let the product dry.

Final decoration of the finished product

After the solution has dried, coat the top with a layer of PVA and place coffee beans on it.

Decorate the topiary as you like, there are no restrictions. I glued coffee beans to the pot and tied a satin bow on the trunk of the tree.

So our amazing tree of happiness is ready. You shouldn’t dream about happiness, take it and create it with your own hands. Such a tree will fill your home with the amazing aroma of coffee, make it more comfortable, and become an interesting addition to the decor.

Try it! Creative success to all!
