Standard decoction. 1 st. l. crushed bark should be poured with 0.5 liters of water and brought to a boil. Then the fire must be reduced and simmer everything for 15-20 minutes. After that, it is necessary to add water to the original volume, and the broth will be ready. It can be used for rinsing the mouth, throat, irrigation for cervical erosion, in the form of lotions for the treatment of bedsores, burns, eczema.

For toothache. 2 tbsp. l. oak bark must be crushed with a coffee grinder and pour a cup of water. All this should be boiled for about 15 minutes, removed from heat and added to the mixture 2 tbsp. l. sage. When the broth is infused, it must be filtered. Rinsing the mouth should be carried out at least 5-6 times a day. The action of oak bark will help reduce aching pain, but for a complete dental treatment, you need to consult a dentist.

From a sore throat. Angina is a serious problem caused by a bacterial infection. Treatment of this disease should be carried out with an appeal to a specialist.   • honey - 1 tablespoon;

1. Put spices and oak bark in a glass container, pour moonshine, mix well and close the lid tightly.

A more successful imitation of aging distillate in barrels than the first method, but requires careful preliminary preparation and long infusion. First, the wood must be freed from excess tannins that spoil the taste. This is done by soaking followed by heat treatment.

Chip harvesting technology

1. Cut a dry log without bark into pegs 2 × 2 cm and up to 10 cm long (approximate dimensions).

2. Soak the resulting chips in cold water for a day, changing the water every 8 hours.

3. Pour soaked oak pegs with an aqueous solution of soda (1 tablespoon of soda per 5 liters of water) and leave for 6 hours.

4. Drain the solution, rinse the chips well under running water.

5. Put the pieces in a saucepan, add water, bring to a boil and simmer for 45-50 minutes over low heat.

6. Drain the decoction and rinse the wood again with cold water.

7. Dry the chips in the air (preferably in the attic) until completely dry (at least two days).

8. Put the pieces on a baking sheet and put in a preheated oven (140-160 ° C) for 2 hours until a slight blush appears.

9. Store the finished wood chips in a dry, warm place (should not get damp).

Oak wood can be replaced with apple or cherry wood. The technique for obtaining chips does not change.

Infusion

1. Fry the previously prepared wood chips on the grill of the oven or microwave. Notes of smell and taste depend on the degree of roasting. Light roasting (at the moment the first smoke appears) gives the drink a subtle hint of vanilla, fruits and flowers. Medium firing (smoke and smell appears) introduces the aroma of coconut, caramel, almonds, spices. Heavy toasting (the wood has begun to change color) saturates the moonshine with a smoky taste with chocolate undertones (like Scotch whiskey).

During the roasting process, the main thing is not to burn the chips. For the first time, I advise you to practice on a small amount so as not to spoil all the wood.

2. Add oak chips to moonshine (45-50%) at the rate of 20-30 grams per liter and tightly close the lid. Insist in a dark cool place for 3-6 months (on average). Gradually the color will change. Homemade tincture on oak bark is very reminiscent of cognac in smell. It takes quite a bit of time to cook it. In the composition of this tincture, several additional herbs and spices are used, including: cloves, pepper, oregano, coriander, St. John's wort. All these components are used to taste and are not included in the mandatory composition of the tincture on oak bark.

Main Ingredients

  • 2 liters of moonshine or vodka (40 degrees)
  • 2 tablespoons oak bark
  • half a tablespoon of honey

The classic recipe for oak vodka tincture without additional spices has a sharper monotonous smell and not everyone may like such a strong accent that oak bark gives to the drink.

The preparation of the tincture is not mediocre. Oak bark is poured onto the bottom of the container (as an option, a 3-liter glass jar) and poured with moonshine or vodka. Add honey, herbs and spices (optional) and mix thoroughly, then close the lid. The drink is infused for 2 weeks at room temperature in a place protected from light, periodically shaking the sediment at the bottom of the jar. This recipe is more complicated than the first version of oak tincture, but the result will exceed all your expectations. First of all, the wood must be freed from the excessive content of tannins in its composition. This can be done by soaking oak wood and its heat treatment in the future. Thus, the entire process of preparing moonshine tincture on oak wood can be divided into 2 stages:

Preparation of oak chips for tincture

From an oak log we make a blank in the form of many chips (a couple of centimeters in width and length) and 5-10 cm in length, having previously cleaned the dry log from the bark. In this case, oak bark is not used at all in the recipe.

Pour oak chips with water for 8 hours, then drain the water and pour it again without drying the chips, and then repeat the same procedure a third time.

For oak chips, we prepare a soda solution. To do this, take 1 tbsp. a spoonful of baking soda and dissolve it in 5 liters of water, after which we lower the soaked wood there for another 8 hours. After the specified time, the oak chips are well washed with running water.
