Hercules porridge.

Some people start their day with sandwiches, while others start their day with milk porridge. Both of these affect your health. It just affects things differently. Milk porridges are favorable, but sandwiches, unfortunately, are not. Doctors and nutritionists often talk a lot about the benefits of cereals. One of them is oatmeal, or rolled oats (after all, rolled oats are specially processed oat grains). Why is oatmeal so beneficial? Firstly, a rich composition of vitamins and microelements, important both individually and in combination. Secondly, because it normalizes the functioning of systems such as digestive, cardiovascular and nervous (thanks to B vitamins, it improves memory and increases brain performance); improves liver and kidney function; cleanses the body, removes toxins and waste; increases overall tone. Thirdly, oatmeal is a natural antidepressant. Therefore, porridges made from it have a beneficial effect not only on well-being, but also on mood.

So, friends, don’t say “Phi,” but include oatmeal porridge in your diet. A slow cooker will help you. While you're taking your morning shower and getting ready (or maybe, like me, walking the dogs), she'll prepare a healthy breakfast for you. Let's prepare oatmeal porridge with milk in a slow cooker.

Ingredients for oatmeal porridge

  1. Oatmeal "Hercules" - one glass (volume 250 ml)
  2. Milk (fat content not higher than 3.5%) - 1 liter
  3. Butter - 25 grams
  4. Salt - to taste
  5. Granulated sugar - to taste

1. This simple and accessible set of ingredients will be used for our future porridge. Hercules should, of course, not be instantly prepared. That is, not the one that is simply poured with boiling water. Personally, I don’t see the need to dilute milk with water. But, if for some reason you always cook porridge with diluted milk, then do it as you are usually used to.

2. Place the butter in a bowl, dividing it into small pieces. (This is for taste, and not a safety net against milk escaping or porridge sticking to the bowl.) Now put the rolled oats into the multicooker.

3. Pour in milk (or, if desired, milk and water). At your discretion and taste, add salt and sweeten, mix gently. Then close the lid and turn the handle, locking it. Through the menu, select “Stewing” (program without pressure, works in the mode of a regular multicooker) and time 1 hour. Next, as always, is “Start”. Let the rolled oats cook, I’ll make a short digression and explain why we set this particular mode. Oursson MP 5010 does not have a special Milk Porridge program. Representatives of the Oursson company recommend choosing the “Stew” mode for porridges with milk, since this program is guaranteed not to allow the milk to escape. I trust the representatives, however, I like to find out everything thoroughly through experience. Having tried (and more than once!) to cook porridge from various cereals in milk using the “Porridge” (under pressure) and “Stewing” (without pressure) programs, I now confirm - yes! We cook all dairy products at “Stewing”. The program works very delicately, despite the high power of the multicooker. The time I set for the oatmeal porridge is 1 hour - this is the minimum time, the factory setting. Initially, it seemed to me that 1 hour was too long for Hercules. But, believe me, it’s very normal, and the porridge turns out simply amazing.

4. While I was making a short excursion, an hour passed unnoticed and signals were heard. Let's go open the cover of the MV. Let's see if the milk porridge is ready? Oh yes! Still so ready!

We serve plates, spoons and lay out the rolled oats. If desired, add fresh berries or fruits. After all, they will perfectly complement the dish.

The multicooker, a miracle of kitchen appliances, has made it much easier for housewives to prepare breakfast: while we are getting ready for work, the device cooks the porridge itself. Cooking porridge in a saucepan is different from cooking in a slow cooker. To make the dish tender and tasty, follow these tips.

  1. Oatmeal is actually whole grains, and Hercules flakes are the oatmeal we are used to. Don't get confused!
  2. Maintain proportions. The recommended ratio of cereal to liquid is 1:2. When porridge is cooked in a saucepan, the water evaporates freely, so take 3 measures of liquid per 1 measure of cereal. In a slow cooker, the evaporation process is especially difficult. You need to take less water or milk so that the rolled oats do not turn out too liquid.
  3. The multi-cooker “Porridge” mode does not involve boiling. Maximum temperature - 90 degrees. Therefore, boil water and milk in advance.
  4. To prevent the porridge from burning, rinse the bottom of the bowl with cold water before cooking.
  5. Choose good rolled oats. It should be light, large, without dark spots. Choose transparent plastic packaging in which all the cereal is clearly visible.
  6. Oatmeal is usually not washed before cooking. But if you do this, you will get a cleaner and more delicate taste.
  7. Add sugar and salt after the cereal is cooked. This way you will retain maximum beneficial properties when cooking.
  8. Rolled oats can be stored for up to 12 months. Polyethylene packaging is preferred. It protects the product from moisture. In a cardboard box, the cereal will lose its beneficial properties and become rancid.
  9. Do not open the multicooker lid during cooking. This applies to any dish unless the recipe requires gradual addition of ingredients into the bowl.
  10. To prevent the oatmeal from splashing and foaming, grease the multicooker bowl with butter.
  11. The average cooking time for porridge depends on the characteristics of your technique. The Redmond multicooker will cook oatmeal in 15 minutes, and the Polaris model in 10. Cooking coarse oatmeal takes from 40 to 60 minutes.
  12. For those whose mornings start very actively, there are multicookers with a delayed cooking mode (“Delayed Start”). Simply add all the ingredients into the bowl and set a time for your breakfast to be ready.
  13. How to get children interested in oatmeal porridge? Use grated chocolate to draw something directly on the plate. You can also draw using jam, preserves, condensed milk or honey.

Cooking sequence

  1. Before loading the ingredients, grease the multicooker bowl with a piece of butter. Thus, the porridge will not “run away” during cooking and will not splatter on the walls of the bowl.
  2. Now pour oatmeal, sugar and salt into the bowl, add milk or water and close the lid.

  3. Depending on the brand and model of your multicooker, set the “Porridge” or “Milk porridge” mode for 20 minutes, or “Multicook” for 10 minutes.

Recipe for delicious oatmeal porridge in the Polaris multicooker

Cooking oatmeal porridge in the Polaris multicooker is appreciated in our time, because thanks to kitchen appliances oatmeal turns out soft, satisfying and very healthy. Moreover, many housewives claim that this recipe turns out to be very airy, so it is difficult to compare it with porridge cooked on the stove - this dish tastes more like a sweet mousse. However, to prepare such porridge, it is important to follow a few tips that will make it especially tender and healthy.

Nowadays, in kindergartens, rolled oats porridge is always included in the menu, since it is quite difficult to find healthier and more satisfying cereals. A properly cooked dish turns out viscous and thick, which ensures normal digestion for both children and adults. In addition, oatmeal contains a lot of useful substances, which include:

  • Magnesium;
  • Phosphorus;
  • Calcium;
  • Potassium.

These elements are especially needed by the body, and they are quite difficult to find in modern products. Therefore, sometimes such porridge must be included in the diet in order to constantly provide the body with useful substances.

But not only children benefit from rolled oats porridge - nutritionists say that such a dish helps to quickly lose weight, as well as normalize the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract and remove harmful elements from the body. Therefore, this dish is ideal as a healthy and nutritious meal, especially if prepared with honey, milk or fresh fruit.

It is also impossible not to notice that the fiber that is part of the cereal provides a person with satiety for 4 hours. At the same time, he will not feel hungry during this period and will not constantly “snack” while waiting for food.

Hercules porridge is the coarsest flakes. That is, they were subjected to minimal processing, which means they retained all the beneficial properties and microelements. And since the porridge is cooked in a slow cooker for only 20 minutes, this explains its beneficial properties, because it takes much longer to cook on the stove. As a result, the dish will turn out not only healthy, but also very tasty.

Some recipe secrets:

  • Try to use only classic rolled oats. Buy only those products that can be easily seen in a transparent pack or packaging. If the cereal has not been processed, it will be light, large and without dark spots. Important: in a plastic bag, the flakes retain their beneficial properties throughout the year, and in this form they are reliably protected from moisture.
  • Be sure to follow the proportions of the cereal. To make the porridge viscous, you should take a little more liquid, since it evaporates during cooking. The optimal ratio of cereal and water is 2:1.
  • Use natural milk or purified water. This recipe is prepared in a slow cooker using the “Milk Porridge” program. This program ensures that the liquid boils away and also does not allow it to “escape”, so the milk is heated only to 90 degrees. This means that the liquid does not completely boil, so you should take care of this in advance.
  • Do not open the lid during cooking. This rule applies to all preparations in a multicooker, since in this case the temperature in the device is disturbed and the cooking time increases.
  • Before cooking, you need to grease the bowl with oil. To ensure that the porridge certainly did not run away, did not splash or foam, the walls of the multicooker bowl can be greased with oil.

You need to cook a dish in the Polaris multicooker using the “Multicook” mode, which will prepare the recipe in just 10 minutes.

This cooking option is considered the easiest and fastest, so you need to prepare the ingredients included in the recipe in advance.

Ingredients:

Step 1

Pour milk and water into the bowl.

Step 2

Add cereal, salt and sugar.

Step 3

Mix the ingredients and select the “Multi-cook” program.

As soon as the oatmeal porridge is cooked in the Polaris multicooker, add butter to it and serve.
