Cafe "Shashlychnaya"

An excellent kebab shop in Sokolniki Park, right next to the central alley. The shish kebab is fried right in front of you, like in a fast food cafe. That's why there are no waiters here, but you don't have to wait long either. Tasty and inexpensive, pork kebab, for example, costs 240 rubles, kharcho - 120 rubles. If you want to save even more, you can bring your own alcohol here. But in this case you will have to sit on the street - no one is watching this here.

Cafe "Nabi"

I live next to the Dorogomilovsky market and go there every weekend to buy groceries. One day, my boyfriend and I saw an inconspicuous eatery with no sign and decided to go in. A small van, several tables - seemingly an ordinary canteen for market workers. The menu includes traditional Caucasian dishes: bozbash, khashlama, piti, dolma, lula - all for about 200 rubles. A kettle of tea with thyme - 100 rubles. They don't sell alcohol, but sometimes I buy draft beer from the neighborhood and bring it with me. This is par for the course here. Everything is very tasty, home-made. Hot flatbreads from the oven are always free.

"Khinkalnaya on Shchepkina"

The restaurant seats approximately 50 people and is located in the basement. There is no hostess, whoever had time sat down. No one here will hold you by the sleeve if you suddenly turn around before you have time to enter. There is nothing to say about the interior. The waiters are not always friendly, but they are efficient. A chef from Georgia is in charge of the food. Everything is very simple, tasty, satisfying and fast. You need to take khinkali, 40 rubles apiece. There are two types of them here - with beef and pork and with lamb. And soups: kharcho (170 rubles) and borscht (150 rubles). They don’t spare meat and pepper in the soup.

The menu contains the standard set of any Georgian restaurant: dolma, lobio, pkhali, satsivi, ajapsandali. There is also shish kebab (from 280 rubles) and potatoes with mushrooms. The latter is served in a small frying pan with hot oil. You need to wash it all down with grape chacha (120 rubles per glass) or Natakhtari soda. On Friday it’s better not to meddle: there is a mosque nearby, after prayer everyone goes there.

"Pardes"

Oktyabrskaya Street and the surrounding area are the place of my childhood, and my dad worked at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center when I was little: then it was a bus depot, dad was a foreman, and I was five years old and I could hang on one of his little fingers. There are now several excellent shops around MEOC, and in the back of one of them, Pardes, there is an inexpensive and very decent Jewish cafe.

I’ve been there several times, visiting exhibitions at the museum or walking through my childhood neighborhood - tram tracks, Brezhnev houses and a synagogue with Jewish families on the streets make this area one of the most charismatic in the unobvious center of Moscow. Pardes has excellent homemade Middle Eastern cuisine, a local crowd, freshly squeezed juices, great coffee and a kingdom of good attitude towards flour - flour is probably my only weakness. This is not a cafe for noisy gatherings, but a great place for a quiet lunch or a friendly meeting - it smells of aromatic bread, fresh vegetables and snacks, and there is a genuine feeling that a Tel Aviv friend is about to come out of the kitchen to hug you by the shoulders.

"Illarion"

Georgian restaurants really help out when you really want to eat, don’t want to show off, and you’re in a big group. Personally, I have almost never encountered bad Georgian restaurants, but Illarion had the most pleasant story. We were walking the dog, we really wanted to sit on their wooden veranda, eat our fill, and no one was against it. In general, there are more dog-friendly places in Moscow than it seems, and recently we were even allowed on the roof with a dog in a Georgian restaurant near Troparev.

But in Illarion we immediately felt at home. The restaurant has wonderful pastries and meat, which I don’t eat but love to smell, strong homemade wine and sincere waitresses. The menu is simple and short, but it’s immediately clear what you want. I ate delicious trout and pelamushi there - a Georgian dessert made from grape juice and corn flour.

Trade Representation of Serbia

I learned about this place from my colleagues when we were once again choosing where to go for lunch. Next to our office there is a trade mission of Serbia, and few people know that there is a wonderful canteen there, which, moreover, anyone can go to. I really liked it there! I am still delighted to tell everyone how delicious it was there. And what’s also important is that the canteen serves large portions and everything is inexpensive. I especially liked the broths (100 rubles each), Shopska salad (about 150 rubles) and rice dishes. In addition, this place is authentic: the waiters are Serbs, national music plays, and Serbian dishes are on the menu. Very cool.

Cafe "Lagmannaya"

I have known the “Lagmannaya” cafe at VDNKh since childhood - although until recently I was sure that it was a cheburek restaurant. The chebureks here are truly delicious: every 10–15 minutes another tray bursting with heat is brought out onto the veranda, which is immediately sold out. In addition, on weekends you can enjoy belyashi or samsa, and the same man has been grilling fresh shish kebab at the barbecue for many years in a row.

The prices are more than affordable: a cheburek costs 50 rubles, a portion of shish kebab (150 grams of meat with onions, a bun and ketchup from a bottle) costs 250, and a glass of beer costs 100 rubles. Inside the cafe, there is an even more democratic dining room all year round, where you can get the same lagman, solyanka and other dishes familiar to Soviet people.

Cafe Saigon

For me, “Saigon” on “Belorusskaya” is an excellent compromise between exoticism and economy. For the price of regular khachapuri, you can order a dish of duck or goat meat here, and a glass of wine in Saigon costs the same as a bottle of beer. The menu includes traditional Vietnamese dishes: several varieties of pho, mien, my beloved bun with duck and bamboo, nems (close relatives of spring rolls), meat, poultry and seafood. For a large group, you can take a hot pot or a bunch of snacks to share with each other. Prices vary from 200 rubles for a salad or appetizer to 1,600 for a hot pot, but in general you can sit here for 500 rubles or hang out in grand style for 700–900 per person. In addition, there is rice vodka on the menu.

"Khinkalnaya"

I found this place empirically, made my way to it by eating several tons of Georgian dumplings in various taverns in Moscow. There is only one type of Khinkali here - with minced pork and beef at the same time, 30 rubles each. On the first page of the menu, the owners warn that you need to eat khinkali with your hands, and a knife and fork destroys the whole meaning of the dish.

There is a boring interior, simple tapestries with ethnic motifs, and the TV is always turned on to a terrible music channel with domestic melodies - and still all three rooms are packed (10 tables for four in the large one, two in the small one, five in the hall on the second floor ).

Veal kebab - 420 rubles, grilled eggplant - 150 rubles, lobio - 200 rubles. I don’t drink vodka, but those who do say that the ruble/gram ratio here is one of the most favorable. In all foreign guides to Moscow, khachapuri cheese pies are recommended more often than Russian cuisine itself, and if I need to feed any guests delicious Moscow food, I will take them here.

"Chaikhana Halal"

A small establishment opposite the Atrium shopping center. Inside there are 10–15 low tables, at which people from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan gather. Service is from the bar; there are only a couple of waiters in the hall. The staff readily speaks Russian and Uzbek. Alcohol is not served inside, and outer clothing is not allowed to be removed. Despite the seemingly ascetic atmosphere, the menu has a fairly large selection of Uzbek dishes and a couple of traditional “winter” salads (“Olivier” and beets with mayonnaise).

A modest vegetarian lunch - suzma with vegetables, a couple of flatbreads, katyk and dried fruit compote - cost 130 rubles. Lunch with two meat dishes - lamb and beef with side dish, flatbread, tea - 550 rubles. For dessert they offer baklava. A portion of dolma costs 200 rubles, a bowl of pilaf costs 230.

In the era of the ruble crisis, regular trips to restaurants with a high price tag are an expensive pleasure and not always justified, especially since there is an alternative - many establishments with excellent cuisine, a pleasant atmosphere, excellent service and, most importantly, adequate prices have recently opened in the capital for the dishes. Especially for those who have neither the strength nor the desire to overpay just for the status of a place, but also don’t want to skimp on quality, this is a guide to modern and popular city places with delicious cuisine and reasonable prices.

Cafe, Fast food

The original format of democratic Georgian eateries appealed to the residents of the capital, who were surprised to discover that Georgian cuisine is not only a horn of wine, a stormy feast and ornate toasts, but a modern and developing branch of world gastronomy. The popularity of the place was also enhanced by its original approach to service - personal pagers notify visitors when their orders are ready.

In "Wai Me!" Guests are offered proper Georgian food at very affordable prices. Here you should definitely try the hallmark of Georgian cuisine - khinkali (4 pieces - 160 rubles); the most famous Georgian pie with cheese and yolk is Adjarian khachapuri (200 rubles); bird's milk with chocolate sauce, which differs from the usual one in that it is prepared without dough (60 rubles); Khachapuri burger (160 rubles) is the first hybrid dish that Khatuna Kolbaya invented especially for “Wai Me!”; everyone's favorite Soviet classic - nuts with boiled condensed milk (7 pieces - 100 rubles); and the ideal end to any hearty lunch - matsoni with jam or honey (100 rubles) - a healthy fermented milk product with grape compote (300 ml - 80 rubles).

Cafe

“Odessa-Mama” is two cozy cafes presenting the delights of Odessa cuisine in all its splendor.

The interior is pleasant and modern, without national pretentious delights. After all, the main thing here is the kitchen. They also prepare very tasty cabbage rolls with little fingers (460 rubles) and a variety of dumplings: with potatoes, cabbage, lazy ones, sweet ones with cherries. Cafe

Saperavi Café is one of the few chains whose establishments do not pursue folklore and pseudo-nationality in the interior, without bringing stylization in the design of the establishment to the point of absurdity, but focusing precisely on the authenticity of the dishes presented, on following ancient culinary traditions, without being afraid to experiment, without dismissing new gastronomic trends.

As a guest of Saperavi Café, you should definitely order the favorite pie from Tbilisi, penovani (290 rubles) - puff pastry pie with suluguni cheese, chicken fillet kebab with red onion and fresh herbs (350 rubles), kiwi salad and chicken fillet with green adjika (290 rubles), spelled grains with suluguni cheese, tomatoes and spices on ketsi (350 rubles). The aroma and taste cannot be conveyed in words!

BOB’S YU PASTA&PIZZA – Italian cuisine

An excellent and unique place with Italian cuisine. Located in the Balchug Gastromarket. There are a lot of pizzas and pastas in Moscow, but you can count the really tasty ones on your fingers.

Teremok

Teremok is pleased with the large chain; it is available in almost every shopping center. Despite the location with fast food, it is not. Well, at least that's what they claim on their website.

Dine here with a pancake with stewed chicken breast, and for dessert take a banana pancake with chocolate. Prices, for some reason, may differ in establishments, but you can understand the approximate order.

So a pancake with chicken will cost about 220 rubles, and a sweet one will cost 180. In total, my set will cost 400 rubles.

Three ducks

Perhaps here you can try one of the best Peking ducks in the city. Why? More than once the Chinese have been seen eagerly eating locally produced duck. And indeed, I personally liked it too.

Duck here is sold whole, half and quarter. The cost is 2050, 1050 and 530 rubles, respectively. It is enough to take quarters.

In the photo, a quarter of Peking duck is a standard portion.

The guys are at the Danilovsky market - Mytnaya street house 74. Not far from the station. m. Tula and in the Balchug gastromarket, What on Balchug street building 5.

Brownie mom

In a short time this place has become one of my favorites. As the name suggests, you can try brownies here. Moreover, they serve it in a very unusual way, on a stick.

Desserts are made from bitter, milk and white chocolate. Moderately sweet, very unusual. And the price is 170 rubles per piece. The perfect dessert.

In the photo, the founder and owner of the project is Ulyana, with a set of desserts

You can find it in StrEat - Leninskaya Sloboda street, building 26, 1st floor, ROOMER MC. Not far from the station. m. Avtozavodskaya

MONBON - macarons

Another place with excellent desserts is the Monbon confectionery. A really wide variety of flavors.

All this miracle costs from 100 rubles. I like the fact that you can take the box home. Moreover, there are interesting tastes made in the form of animal figurines. You can find in Gastromarket Balchug- Balchug street building 5, 1st floor. Not far from the station. m. Tretyakovskaya.

I hope you liked my places. I would be glad if you share yours in the comments to complement.

There are more than 500 canteens in Moscow, where you can have lunch for 250-300 rubles, and in some you can also have breakfast for practically nothing, for 60-100 rubles. True, many establishments with affordable prices are located in business centers, where access is allowed only to office employees. The RIAMO observer, together with the 2GIS service, found 10 canteens in the center of the capital, where access is open to everyone.
