For a long time I was looking for what to make masts from. their length should be about 40-45cm just above the cake, i.e. total length not less than 50 cm.
And I found these sticks unexpectedly in a flower shop. These are bamboo sticks that are stuck into the flower pot and used to support the flower. Washed them well. I took sticks 5-6 mm in diameter.

First, I marked how far the stick should be stuck into the cake and into the substrate under the cake. I marked the rest of the mast height under the rails. Then my husband drilled holes for me with a thin drill for the rails. As a rai, I took skewers for barbecue with a diameter of 2 mm.
I inserted skewers into the holes and got these two masts.

In one of the masts I made a hole obliquely for a slanting sail at the stern. I received this mast.

I made patterns for the base of the ship and the upper deck. I marked where the masts should be.

On the substrate under the cake, I noted how the cake will be located and where the masts will be located, I drilled holes for them

Then she made patterns of slanting sails in front - the lower one is the shortest, the upper one is the longest.

Now I cut out the pattern of the sail on the mastic, making an allowance from above.

At the same time, I marked where the pattern line runs.

I laid a wire for flowers along the top line of the pattern so that the ends of the wire extended beyond the sail.

We fold the mastic along the wire so that it remains in the fold of the mastic.

We smooth the junction. I cut the plastic folder-corner into pieces, according to the size of the sails. I laid the sail with a smoothed seam on plastic and put it to dry on a bottle so that the sail turned out to be rounded. And the seam should remain on the concave side of the sail, i.e. he will be turned to the mast

Now we make oblique sails - we insert a wire into the front ones along the long side of the sail. Then it will be attached with one end of the wire to the front mast, and with the other to a skewer inserted into the bow of the ship. We insert wires into the rear sail on two sides. One side of the sail will be attached to the rear mast, and the other to the slanting yard.

I want to add more, how I assembled the ship. I first inserted the sticks (wrapped with foil) into the substrate in place of the masts and put the soaked cakes on them, then smeared them with cream and laid layers. Then, when the cake stood in the refrigerator, I cut out the shape of the ship, and when the cake was almost ready, I pulled out the sticks that replaced the masts and inserted the already assembled masts with sails (also wrapped in foil from below). And then, already on the finished ship, she attached oblique sails. Because the holes on the substrate turned out to be too big for me, then when the cake was raised, the masts fell down. So I'm on the bottom side
sealed the holes with adhesive tape.

In order to prepare the above dessert, you will need:

  • large chicken eggs - 4 pcs.;
  • premium flour - 1 cup;
  • white sugar - 1 cup (for dough);
  • cocoa powder - 5 tbsp. spoons;
  • butter - 180 g;
  • condensed milk - 1 can;
  • bitter chocolate + milk + butter - use for glaze;
  • confectionery toppings to decorate the dessert;
  • vegetable oil for greasing the mold.

So, to prepare the dough, you need to grind the egg yolks together with white sugar, and then add the egg whites whipped into a steep foam. Having received a lush homogeneous mass, flour should be poured into it, as well as soda slaked with vinegar.

Cooking icing

  • white sugar - a full glass + 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • premium flour - 600 g;
  • slaked soda - dessert spoon;
  • honey - 5 tbsp. spoons;
  • butter - 50 g;
  • condensed milk - 1 can.

We make cakes

Honey cake "Ship", the photo of which you can see in this article, is incredibly tender and tasty. Before you form it, you should make cakes. To do this, beat large eggs with sugar, and then add honey to them and put in a water bath. It takes about ¼ hour to brew the ingredients. Next, you need to add a glass of flour to them and keep on the stove for a couple more minutes. After that, the egg mass should be removed from the heat. By adding the rest of the flour to it, you should get a cool and dark place, which is recommended to be placed in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

After the specified time has passed, the base should be divided into 8 pieces, rolled into a layer, smeared with butter, and then cut out the necessary details (stern, sides, etc.). In the future, they must be baked in the oven (for 25 minutes).

Cooking cream

Making mastic

In order to make mastic, you will need:

  • dry milk - 150 g;
  • condensed milk - 100 g;
  • lemon juice - 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • powdered sugar - 300 g;
  • cocoa powder - 2 tbsp. spoons.

To make chocolate mastic, you need to mix all the listed ingredients. As a result of such actions, you should get a fairly thick and elastic mass. It should be rolled into a thin layer, and then cut into the desired parts.

If you need to get a mastic that is not dark, but white, then you do not need to add cocoa. We suggest you make mastic in two colors.

The process of forming a homemade cake

After preparing all the components of our ship, you can safely start forming the dessert. To do this, it is necessary to lay out all the honey cakes one by one on a flat cake pan, lubricating them with butter cream. Top dessert should also be covered with cream. After that, it must be decorated with chocolate and white mastic. As a result of such actions, you should get a homemade cake that will look very much like a toy ship.

  • an almost full faceted glass of premium flour;
  • baking powder dough (2 grams);
  • cocoa (50 grams);
  • 15 grams of butter for greasing the mold.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

Mix cocoa and flour. Beat the eggs with a mixer with sugar until the latter is completely dissolved. Place the flour, baking powder and beat with neat identical movements, but without a mixer. Grease the form with oil, lay out the dough and immediately send it to the oven.

Until the end of the preparation of the biscuit (15-20 minutes), the oven must not be opened. When the time is up, do not take out the biscuit right away, just turn off the oven, open the door and let the biscuit stay in the oven for another 20 minutes so that it cools smoothly.












The recipe for chocolate cream for impregnation is very simple: mix 300-400 grams of butter with a glass of chocolate condensed milk and 50 grams of melted dark chocolate. Spread them on completely cooled cakes, from which ship elements have already been cut.

The mastic recipe will be more difficult. You will need:

  • 1 faceted glass of boiled cold water;
  • 2 cups of sugar;
  • 25 grams of edible gelatin;
  • 170-180 grams of invert syrup;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • about a kilo with a little powdered sugar;
  • 250-300 grams of regular starch.

Pour gelatin over half cold water.

Combine sugar, a pinch of salt, syrup and the rest of the water, put on low heat, wait for the mixture to boil. Boil the mixture for 7-8 minutes without stirring.

Prepare the mixer and place a container with soaked gelatin next to it. First, pour the gelatin into the mixer bowl, start churning and gradually pour the hot mixture into the gelatin. It can not be cooled, start pouring immediately after removing from heat.

Mixer speed should be maximum.

Beat the liquid until it transforms into a fluffy white mass, about three times as large.

After the mass is whipped, it is necessary to reduce the speed of the mixer and add powdered sugar in several stages. As a result, the mass should look elastic and dense. At this stage, dyes are added. Depending on how many colors of mastic you need, divide the mass into the necessary parts.

This already painted mass must be isolated from the air by wrapping the containers with cling film, and left in this form for a day at room temperature (you can’t put it in the refrigerator!).

At the end of the day, the mass must be taken out and mixed with starch.

Now you can move on to decorating the cake.

Decorating such a sweet ship has no limits in sequence or choice of theme. The main thing is that the elements harmoniously complement each other and do not turn into one continuous motley mess. Therefore, it is best to make smooth transitions.
