Lenten pie in a Redmond slow cooker. Lenten baking in a slow cooker

We still have a post on the calendar. And this feat will last until April 7, because this is the last day of fasting, the eve of the Holy Resurrection of Christ. The second week is not as scary as the first. But I want something tasty. And if you want, let’s not deny ourselves. After all, recipes for Lenten baking are available in huge quantities. So I suggest baking a lean chocolate cake with berries in a slow cooker.

My next baking recipe contains no eggs, no butter, no milk. Therefore, this fragrant chocolate cake will be an excellent consolation for those who are fasting, and for anyone who is trying to eat healthy, or who does not have eggs in the refrigerator, and so on.

Why do I put berries in a cupcake? And you will see what pleasant sourness cranberries, currants or viburnum can give!

Cooking time: 20 minutes for kneading and 65 for baking

Complexity: slightly above average, because adding vegetable oil to cake batter is not easy

Ingredients:

    sugar – 250 g

salt - on the tip of a knife

baking powder for dough – 1 tbsp.

vegetable oil (refined) – 80 ml

    water – 250 ml

    chocolate glaze - 1 sachet

How to cook a lean cake in a slow cooker:

Let's measure out the required amount of cocoa and put it into a bowl in which we will knead the dough for a chocolate cake. Add flour to cocoa. But first, let's sift it through. I did this directly over a bowl of cocoa.

Mix these ingredients well. We need to add the rest of the bulk. Add salt, vanilla sugar and baking powder.

Mix everything again and add sugar. We face the same task - to mix everything well.

Our next step is adding water and oil. What to pour in first? I added water first. Knead it very well with a spatula until smooth. And only then added oil. And here you will have to work hard to mix it into the dough. Now I understand that I could have mixed everything in a mixer - quickly and efficiently. But I still succeeded.

I took the berries out of the freezer - I like to make preparations in the summer. I added them to the dough.

After mixing everything, I poured the dough into the multicooker bowl, which I had previously greased with vegetable oil.

Bake on the “Baking” mode for 1 hour 5 minutes. Remove the lean chocolate cake and place it on a steamer basket. I greased the soft, fluffy, tasty, aromatic cupcake on top and sides with icing (store-bought - diluted a bag with water according to the instructions).

  12. The Lenten cupcake recipe is presented in the video:

Step 1: prepare the tea leaves.

It is better to brew tea for tea drinking in a ceramic teapot, then it will be more aromatic. To prepare our baked goods, we will also use the basic rules for brewing tea. Take a kettle and pour boiling water over it. Then, using a teaspoon, pour into it the amount of tea leaves required for our recipe. Pour boiling water over the tea leaves. We close this container with a lid, and cover the top of the kettle with a light cloth napkin so that it covers not only the lid of the dish, but also the spout of the kettle. The napkin will allow steam to pass through, but will retain the essential oils in the tea leaves. This will make the brew very aromatic, so the baked goods will be saturated with this tea aroma. Let the tea steep for 10-15 minutes. When it has cooled, strain the tea through a sieve into a free cup, and throw away the used tea leaves. Then add sugar to the strained tea liquid and, using a teaspoon, stir the sugar well in this liquid.

Step 2: prepare the flour.

Sift the flour through a sieve over a clean bowl. At the same time, the flour is freed from lumps and enriched with oxygen from the air, so the dough will be kneaded easier and better. To prepare lean baked goods, use high-grade, finely ground wheat flour, as well as a brand you trust.

Step 3: prepare the dough.

Pour the cooled tea leaves with sugar, vegetable oil into the mixer bowl and add a little sifted flour. Turn on the electric appliance and beat our liquid mass at medium speed. Then, turn off the mixer and add the rest of the flour into this container. Mix all ingredients again at medium speed. Make sure that the dough mass is homogeneous and without lumps. Afterwards, add soda, previously quenched with vinegar, into the same container and add jam using a tablespoon. Turning the mixer on to medium speed, mix all the ingredients well again until smooth. The dough turns out liquid. The consistency resembles thick sour cream.

Step 4: prepare lean pastries in a slow cooker.

Take a multicooker baking dish and, using a pastry brush, evenly grease it with vegetable oil. Then sprinkle the bottom and sides of the mold with semolina. Pour the batter into this form and place it in the slow cooker. Select the “Baking” mode. The baking process takes 50-60 minutes. At the end of the cooking process, the kitchen appliance emits a signal, which reminds us that our dish is ready. Open the multicooker and take out the pan with the finished baked goods. Let our pie cool. Then we take it out of the mold. To check the readiness of our dish, just pierce it with a toothpick. If it is dry after removal from the dough, then our Lenten baking is ready.

Step 5: serve lean baked goods in a slow cooker.

Transfer the baked goods to a wide flat dish and use a kitchen knife to cut it into portions. At your request, before cutting the pie, we can decorate it with either fresh fruit or dried fruit, jam or jam. Bon appetit!

- – For baking, in addition to any jam, you can use jam to your taste.

- – If you don’t have brown sugar, you can use regular white sugar.

- – If you put cocoa powder in the dough, then the lean baked goods will turn out chocolate.

- – You can bake two identical lean cakes, and soak them with any cream using vegetable cream instead of butter, or spread the cakes with any jam or jam.

- – You can prepare tea leaves for dough from any type of tea according to your desire.

Step 1: prepare the tea.

Pour black tea into a glass and immediately pour boiling water over it. To ensure it brews well, be sure to cover the container with a saucer and leave it aside for a while. Let the drink cool to a warm state while we prepare the remaining ingredients.

Step 2: prepare the flour.

To make the cake fluffy and tender, first of all we need to sift the flour. To do this, pour it into a sieve and perform this operation directly over a large bowl. Thanks to this process, the component will be saturated with oxygen, which will contribute to the preparation of a good airy dough.

Step 3: Prepare the pie dough.

Pour cocoa powder, sugar, ground cinnamon, and instant coffee into a bowl with sifted flour. Then, using a tablespoon, mix everything thoroughly until smooth.

Now pour the warm tea here and at the same time whisk everything with a hand whisk or a mixer at medium speed so that no lumps appear. We should have a runny dough. We leave it aside for now, and in the meantime prepare the apple.

Step 4: prepare the apple.

We wash the apple under running warm water, shake off excess liquid and then place it on a cutting board. Using a knife, peel the fruit and then cut it in half. Remove the seeds and stem from each part. Before adding the component to the dough, it must be crushed. We can do this in two ways. First: using a coarse grater, grate the apple pieces directly on the cutting board, and then transfer the shavings to a free plate.
Second (I like this option better, since the fruity aroma is stronger in the pie): simply chop the component into pieces using a knife.

Step 5: prepare the Lenten pie in a slow cooker.

Place the chopped apple in a bowl with the dough and, using a tablespoon, mix everything thoroughly until smooth. Now, using a pastry brush, grease the bottom and walls of the multicooker pan with a small amount of vegetable oil.

Immediately after this, pour the dough here. Attention: Don’t forget to add vegetable oil to it, then the pie will turn out soft and buttery, which will make it much tastier. Next, close the lid of the electrical appliance and turn on "Baking" mode and prepare the dish for 65 minutes. When the allotted time has elapsed, an alarm will sound. Immediately after this, open the lid of the multicooker and see how baked the pie is. Its surface should become dense and slightly golden. If this is the case, then remove the cake using the steam tray and set it aside. If not, then you should close the lid and extend the cooking time further. for 15–25 minutes on the same mode. At the end, be sure to let the baked goods cool completely and only after that can we serve it to the dessert table.

Step 6: serve the Lenten pie in a slow cooker.

When the Lenten pie becomes warm, transfer it to a special flat plate, cut it into portions using a knife and can safely serve it to the dessert table along with tea, coffee and other drinks. Help yourself, because the baked goods turn out great!
Bon appetit everyone!

Before serving, the pie can be sprinkled with powdered sugar. In this option, the baked goods must cool completely, otherwise the bulk component will begin to melt;

If you want a very airy dough, then I advise you to sift the flour at least twice;

Guests can be offered to top the pie with topping, jam, condensed milk and just berry syrup.

You will need:

  • flour - 3 multi-cups or 2 regular
  • sugar – 0.5 cups
  • apples (small) – 2 pcs.
  • vanilla sugar – 1 sachet
  • raisins – 50g.
  • vegetable oil – 0.5 cups
  • honey – 2 tbsp. with top
  • baking powder – 2 tsp.
  • water (boiling water) – 1 glass
  • cinnamon to taste (I love cinnamon taste, so I used 2 tsp)
  • starch – 1 tsp.

Today we are preparing lean apple pie in a slow cooker. Try it to be sure - Lenten baking can be delicious too!

By the way, if you decide to fast, this does not mean that you need to starve. Of course, you can eat, but only food without animal fats. There are a lot of such dishes - porridge, and, of course, baked goods, how could we live without it? Yes, don’t be surprised, without milk and eggs you can make excellent pies that taste good and won’t hurt your figure too much. And your faithful assistant will help you bake them - a multicooker. Have you tried baking in a slow cooker? No problem, I’ll be happy to share my experience with you!

For those readers of the site who are just mastering the technique of cooking in this miracle saucepan, I will say right away that many types of baked goods turn out better and easier in it than in the oven. And a Lenten pie in a slow cooker also turns out wonderful! Let's bake it already!

Cooking method

  1. All the necessary ingredients for baking a Lenten apple pie in a slow cooker have been collected and you can start cooking.

  2. The dough kneads very quickly, so first of all I put the kettle on the stove, since we will need boiling water. Meanwhile, I peel the apples and cut them into small slices. As soon as the water boils, I steam the raisins and begin to knead the dough for the pie.

I pour sugar (and vanilla too), cinnamon and honey into a bowl.

  3. Pour a glass of boiling water and stir until the sugar and honey dissolve.

  4. I add vegetable oil; I mainly use corn oil for cooking - nutritionists say that it is healthier than regular sunflower oil.

  5. I gradually add flour and baking powder, previously sifted, and quickly mix everything until smooth (to avoid lumps, I use a whisk).

  6. Lastly, I add apples and raisins to the dough, and so that they are evenly distributed in the baked goods, I sprinkle with starch (of course, you need to drain the water from the raisins and dry them, try to do this as quickly as possible, since it is not advisable for the dough to stand for a long time). Instead of raisins, you can add other dried fruits that you have to the dough.

  7. I grease the multicooker bowl a little with vegetable oil, then pour the finished dough with the filling inside into it.

I bake for approximately 60 minutes in the “Baking” mode, setting the temperature to 150 degrees - it is at this temperature that in my PHILIPS HD3077/40 multicooker the baked goods are baked most evenly. You can take this time as a guide, but look closer to the end of the program, since perhaps your multicooker has a different power and will require a little more or, conversely, less time for baking. However, to be sure the cake is ready, I always pierce it with a match.

  8. I remove the pie from the bowl, using the steam pan to help me, and leave it to cool on it. Aromatic Lenten apple pie in a slow cooker is ready! I sprinkle powdered sugar on top, cut it into portions and invite everyone to drink tea.

  9. I tried placing apples on top of the dough (the second option is exactly in this photo), but, in my opinion, the pie turns out tastier and juicier when the filling is mixed into the dough.

Now you see that it is very possible to bake a Lenten pie in a slow cooker, and it turns out incredibly tasty. Try it too!
