And then I remembered how I tried potato zrazy with fried minced meat and cabbage at my grandmother's. And a couple of years ago, after watching the program of Yulia Vysotskaya, she cooked potato zrazy with salmon. Otherwise, mashed potatoes remain like this, you don’t have to eat it for several days afterwards, you can cook so many different delicious dishes from mashed potatoes.

Often this happens, for a holiday or birthday, you cook a lot of mashed potatoes and it remains. But it does not matter, there are so many options for various and very tasty potato dishes. For example, potato casserole with minced meat, mashed potato zrazy.

How to make mashed potatoes

  • 500 grams of mashed potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • 1-2 tbsp. spoons of flour
  • salt. pepper to taste
  • vegetable oil

I have a lot of mashed potatoes left, so I've been cooking several times already. What I want to note is that the children liked the zrazy, especially with sour cream. The son even called zrazy - potato pies. It is necessary to add milk and butter to mashed potatoes, then the zrazy turns out to be very tasty.

If the potatoes are from the refrigerator, then they should be slightly warmed up or left on the table so that they come to room temperature so that it is easier to form zrazy.

  1. Put the mashed potatoes into a bowl. Add egg, flour, salt and pepper to taste. My eggs are rustic. You can add greens, but this is optional. We mix everything thoroughly.
  2. If you have just boiled mashed potatoes, then let it cool. And then start cooking zrazy.
  3. When everything is thoroughly mixed, we begin to form zrazy. They can be in the form of cutlets, pies or rounded shapes. Do as you please.
  4. Finished zrazy should be rolled in flour on both sides. If you are making zrazy with filling, then we take part of the potato, put a teaspoon of the filling in the middle and cover the cake with mashed potatoes forming a pie.
  5. Make zrazy from whole potatoes laying out ready-made, sprinkled with flour on a plate or board. Then it will be very convenient to fry zrazy.
  6. In the meantime, put a frying pan on the fire and pour vegetable oil into it. Put the zrazy on the heated pan.
  7. Fry zrazy from mashed potatoes on both sides until golden brown. I wanted to make them in the form of pies. This is how I got them.
  8. So fry all the zrazy that you made. Zrazy can be laid out on a plate, previously covered with a paper towel, so that excess vegetable oil is absorbed.
  9. A very tasty dish is obtained, hearty, especially with sour cream. Of course, with minced meat or with cabbage, zrazy will turn out even tastier. We'll cook next time.

Fish stuffing

I once cooked zrazy stuffed with red fish. Boiled the fish, removed the bones, chopped, added finely chopped dill, salt and pepper. I made zrazy with this stuffing. Served with sour cream. This is delicious.

Mushroom stuffing

If you like mushrooms, then they are quite suitable for the filling. Mushrooms need to be fried with onions until cooked in a pan. Usually mushrooms are used.

Egg stuffing

It's like stuffing for egg and onion patties. Boil the eggs, chop. Finely chop the greens and add to the eggs. Salt, pepper to taste. A little melted butter is also added to the filling. So it does not crumble, but becomes more homogeneous.

You can add some hard cheese to the filling.

They also prepare the filling for zrazy from sausages, sausages or canned fish. If you use sausage or sausages, then they need to be chopped and combined with onions fried until golden brown.
