How to cook stuffed apples. Step-by-step recipe with photos and videos

Perhaps the most unpretentious, but at the same time delicious and healthy dessert, which will give pleasure to both children and adults. Another advantage of this dish is that it can be prepared both in winter and summer, having apples and a couple of additional ingredients on hand. The aroma alone during cooking is worth it! And there is absolutely no difficulty in preparation; anyone can handle this process.

Judge for yourself. Select apples for cooking that are larger, smooth, without defects or damage; it’s good if these are apples of late varieties. Wash them thoroughly and leave them to dry for a while. Then cut off the top part of the apples with the stem and take out the entire middle with the seeds. This can be done with a sharp knife or a teaspoon. Cover the bottom of the baking tray or baking dish intended for preparing this dish with parchment or foil so that you don’t have to worry later about washing them off from the juice released during cooking. Place the prepared fruit on the bottom of the baking sheet, cut side up. To prevent the apples from darkening too much in the oven, lightly sprinkle them with lemon juice and fill the cavity with sugar or some filling: cottage cheese, honey, nuts, other fruits, berries or even vegetables, or you can simply put sweet caramel inside the apple and add a little cinnamon.

There are an incredible variety of fillings for this dessert. By showing your imagination, you can come up with your own, unlike all the others, unusual and original. Next, place the baking sheet with apples in the oven and bake for 30-40 minutes at 180-200°C. Cooking time depends on the variety and size of apples. Focus on the readiness of the product. To do this, look at the skin of the baked fruit: if it is wrinkled, then the dessert is ready. Or pierce the flesh with a wooden toothpick. When the dish is ready, a toothpick easily pierces the skin. Cooked apples in the oven do not lose their nutritional properties and acquire an inimitable taste and aroma.

Even very tasty apples, freshly picked from the tree, can become boring. Then baked apples in the oven come to the rescue - an everyday dietary dish or an elegant holiday treat, depending on what ingredients you included in the recipe and how you served it. Magic Food has put together a collection of recipes: from a simply cooked apple to a complex pie, but I’ll start with the general principles of preparing the dish.

Theory of the issue

Whole or pieces?

Traditionally, apples stuffed with filling are baked whole. To do this, the top of the fruit is cut off, the core is removed with a special knife, and the filling is placed in a hole approximately 3 cm wide. However, this method is not the only one. Apples are wrapped in dough (apples in dough), cut into pieces or slices and baked, sprinkled with sugar and spices, included in the apple pie - whole, without cutting into slices or otherwise.

About fillings and sauces

Recipes for baked apples include a variety of dessert and snack fillings. The most popular are sugar, nuts, especially walnuts, raisins, and cinnamon. Minced meat for baked apples can include almost all dried fruits, berries, ginger, vanilla, nutmeg, star anise, and cloves. Fruits of paradise are stuffed with cottage cheese and rice, oatmeal, pumpkin and citrus pieces. Before putting it in the oven, place a couple of peas of butter on the minced meat. Drizzle with liquid honey, maple syrup, lemon juice, toppings, and sauces. Served with scoops of ice cream, cream, and jam.

Sometimes recipes call for cooking apples with water, which prevents them from burning. You get baked apples in your own sauce: water mixed with juice and melted butter. When serving, pour the sauce from the baking sheet over the finished apples.

Which apples are good for cooking in the oven?

You can bake any fruit, but it’s better autumn varieties(they have a hard skin that won’t fall apart), medium size, since large ones take longer to bake. The solid Antonovka and Granny Smith, Simirenko and McIntosh are equally good - the key word here is “ hard“, they retain their shape when baked. The peel can also be removed before or after cooking.

More tips:

  1. Peeled apples or, as in our case, with the core removed, darken, sprinkle them with lemon juice or cook immediately.
  2. Stuff not very tightly, leave 1 cm empty on top so that the filling does not leak out. The apple should have a “bottom” of approximately the same thickness (1.5 cm).
  3. Ready apples can be easily pierced with a knife. The apples are very hot straight out of the oven, let them cool!
  4. Don't leave uneaten dessert on the table - put it in the refrigerator. It will normally stay there for 2-3 days.

Apple in dough, cooked in the oven

But this is already my favorite option - a soft and juicy apple goes perfectly with a thin and crispy shortcrust pastry shell. Of course, it turns out a little more satisfying than the classic version, however, a couple of extra calories are worth it!

Ingredients

  • about 5-6 apples;
  • 2-3 tbsp. l. thick red jam (cherry, currant, plum);
  • 100 g quality butter;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • 100 g powdered sugar;
  • 200 g flour.

How to bake an apple in dough

  1. Chop the ice cream butter with powder, salt and flour - chop quickly and finely. I use a food processor, but two knives also work well for this job.
  2. We collect the dough into a ball, then divide it into 5-6 parts (depending on the number of apples), wrap it in cling film and put it in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
  3. At this time, wash and peel the apples, remove the core, and do this on the side opposite the cutting (let it remain - it’s more beautiful with it!). We put a little jam inside each apple.
  4. We take out the dough (one ball at a time), roll it into a round shape and wrap it around the apple, starting from the side of the “hole” with jam. Perhaps you will have very large fruits - then you can simply make a “plate” in which to place the apple. I like it this way even more - when I eat three servings at once, I amuse myself with the illusion that there is not enough dough in them, just a little!
  5. Place the apples in the dough in a baking dish and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about half an hour.

Ready! Delicious, incredibly tasty when warm (with a scoop of ice cream - you'll swallow your tongue!), amazing, incredibly crispy and juicy when cold (with whipped cream - you'll sell your homeland!).

Twice baked apple in the oven

A delicious and delicate dessert that is not embarrassing to serve on the holiday table - it not only looks amazing, but also tastes magical!

Ingredients

  • 6 apples;
  • half a lemon;
  • 50 ml cream;
  • a handful of nuts;
  • 2 tbsp. l. Sahara;
  • 1 yolk;
  • 2 cinnamon sticks.

How to cook apples, twice baked in the oven

  1. Peel 4 apples and cut them in half crosswise. I recommend leaving a “tail” on the top half of the apple - this way the apple will look much more original and fun.
  2. Use a special spoon or a sharp knife to remove the core - make sure that you remove the membranes along with the seed pod (it is very unpleasant when hard membranes appear in the tender pulp of baked apples).
  3. Place the halves together and place the apples in a baking dish. Add a little water (it should not cover the fruit by more than 1 cm) and put the apples in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for half an hour.
  4. Wash the remaining 2 apples, peel them, remove the core and grate them on a medium grater. Mix with sugar, yolk and cream, add the juice and zest of half a lemon. The filling is ready.
  5. We take the apples out of the oven, open them and place the bottom half in portioned serving rings that are suitable for baking in the oven. If you (like me) don’t have such “happiness” yet, you can fold the foil several times and make rings of the desired diameter from it.
  6. Fill the rings with the filling up to the top cut, cover with the “lid” from the top of the apple and place in the same baking dish. Place cinnamon sticks nearby and bake for another half hour at 180 degrees. Periodically remove the pan from the oven and pour over the resulting juice.

Delicious both hot and cold. Serve sprinkled with roasted and chopped nuts. Incredibly delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Pie with baked apples and chocolate filling

It looks like baked apples, but in the form of a pie! A magical recipe for fruit and chocolate lovers. Ideal for a large family tea party.

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs;
  • 1 glass of sour cream;
  • 2 tbsp. l. butter;
  • 1 glass of sugar;
  • 1 tsp. soda;
  • 1/3 tsp. salt;
  • 1.5 cups flour;
  • 5-7 small apples;
  • 1 chocolate bar;
  • 3 tbsp. l. cream;
  • 100 g shortbread cookies;
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon.

Recipe for pie with baked apples in the oven

  1. First of all, wash the fruits and remove the skins. If they do not “stand” very steadily on the table, it is worth cutting off a little of the apple from the bottom. Using a special knife, you need to remove the core, removing all the seeds and membranes from the apple.
  2. Prepare a baking dish - cover it with paper and, if you don’t trust the quality of the parchment, lightly grease it with any oil.
  3. We lay out, or rather, we put out the apples - evenly distributing them throughout the entire form.
  4. We break the cookies into small pieces, very small ones. Break the chocolate into pieces, add cream, heat in the microwave or in a water bath, pour into cookies, add cinnamon and mix thoroughly.
  5. Stuff the apples with the resulting mixture.
  6. Prepare the dough. Beat sugar and eggs, add melted butter. Separately mix sour cream, salt and soda, add to the egg mixture. Sift the flour and mix until smooth.
  7. Pour the resulting dough over the apples and bake at 180 degrees for at least an hour. We check readiness with a toothpick - make sure that it pierces the dough and not the apples. Due to the moisture of the apples, the pie will take longer to bake than usual, so keep that in mind!

When cutting the pie into portioned pieces, try to move the knife in such a way as to cut the apple in half (the fruit is clearly visible from the tubercles under the dough) - then on the cut you will get extraordinary beauty: yellowish sour cream sponge cake, white apples, dark chocolate.

About the benefits

I won’t list the vitamins and elements of the periodic table that apples are rich in - it’s boring and uninteresting, and so everyone knows that the only thing healthier than this fruit can be a basket of fruits. They cleanse the body, fill it with nutrients, remove cholesterol, strengthen the immune system - all this and a bunch of other advantages make the apple an indispensable component of a healthy diet, however, in my opinion, this is not the main thing.

It's delicious. Just delicious, and that says it all! It is unlikely that you will endlessly chew, for example, parsley root just because it is healthy. But you can eat apples – and almost endlessly. The ending is determined solely by the moment the house runs out of apples. Red and green, yellow and orange, small and large, tight and soft, sour and sweet, juicy and fleshy - the choice of options that an apple has is so great that you can please everyone.

The calorie content of a baked apple is 47 kcal.

They say that when baked, this fruit is much better absorbed by the body. I fully believe that after baking, the hero of the day acquires the ability to improve metabolic processes, accelerate the removal of all debris from the intestines and have a beneficial effect on the skin.

They also say that with regular consumption of baked apples, there is a certain opportunity to lose weight - potassium, which “lives” in large quantities in this product, successfully fights sodium, which retains moisture in subcutaneous fat. At the same time, 100 g of baked apple contains only 47 kcal. A nonsense benefit, of course, but still nice! In general, long live the apple!

Stuffed apples are a simple, healthy and tasty dessert that even a novice cook can handle. Cooked in the oven, stuffed with sweet curd filling, the apples turn out tender, juicy and very appetizing both in appearance and taste. Such a nutritious and light dessert is good in itself, but if you decorate the apples with an airy, crispy “cap” of puff pastry, add honey or - it will be impossible to resist it! Try it!

To prepare apples stuffed with cottage cheese in the oven, prepare the ingredients according to the list.

Cover the raisins with hot water and let sit for 5-7 minutes while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.

Rub the cottage cheese through a sieve or mash with a pestle or potato masher until smooth.

Separate the egg yolk from the white. Add vanilla sugar to the yolk, 1-2 tbsp. sugar and beat the ingredients for a few minutes until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.

Add raisins and egg yolk beaten with sugar to the curd mass and mix everything thoroughly. To make the mass more delicate in taste, add a few tablespoons of sour cream or a little softened butter.

Taste the mixture and add more sugar and spices if necessary to suit your taste.

Cut off the top of the apple and save. Carefully scoop out the apple pulp, keeping only a thin layer along the skin.

Add a little lemon juice or citric acid to a container of cold water.

Place the peeled apples in the prepared water - this will prevent them from darkening.

Fill the apples with the prepared filling.

If desired, decorate the apples using puff pastry. Cut the dough into small strips.

Place 3 strips of dough vertically on top of the apple, then add 2-3 horizontal strips and intertwine the dough to create a lattice.

Pour a little water into the baking dish, enough to cover the bottom with a thin layer. Place the prepared apples into the mold. Sprinkle the stuffed apples with 1-2 pinches of sugar, add a little ground cinnamon if desired, and cover with the previously cut top. Brush the puff pastry with egg yolk.

Place the prepared apples in an oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for 25-30 minutes until cooked.

Stuffed apples are ready.

Serve apples garnished with honey and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Bon appetit!
