  4. After infusing the berries, place the container on low heat and wait for the sugar to completely dissolve.
  5. Then increase the heat to medium and cook the jam for 10 minutes from the start of the boil. At the same time, remove the foam from the surface.
  6. Turn off the heat and leave the jam for 2 hours.
  7. After two hours, re-cook the berries for 5 minutes and then leave for 2 hours.
  8. After this time, pour half of the syrup from the container with jam (you can make a delicious fruit drink from it), and cook the jam over very low heat for another 20 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • Mulberries – 0.4 kg.

  • Lemon – 3 slices.

Cooking process:

  1. Place mulberries, freshly picked or purchased at the market, in a bowl and wash off dust with cold water. Drain the water from the bowl.
  2. We take ½ of the washed berries, put them in a separate container (we take a deep container so as not to splash the juice of the berries, which cannot be washed off) and puree them with a blender or potato masher.

Seedlings cannot tolerate drought and may die. The tree grows quite quickly.

Buy mulberry seedlings and plant them in the fall, about 1.5 months before frost. Otherwise, the seedlings will not have time to take root.

Seedlings are not the only way to obtain a fruit-bearing mulberry tree. Reproduction can be done using seeds - but it takes a very long time - cuttings and planting young shoots.

How to remove mulberry juice stains from things

Mulberry is a very juicy berry. Juice stains are quite difficult to remove, but possible.

  • Fresh stains can be “washed” with boiling water. Stretch the fabric tightly and carefully pour boiling water over the stained area.
  • Old mulberry stains can be removed by soaking the item in warm water and vinegar.
  • Citric acid removes juice stains well. A spoonful of the product should be dissolved in a glass of warm water. Pour the solution into the stained area and leave for half an hour.
  • Stains can be treated with sour milk and left for several hours. After this, wash as usual.

Preparing compote and jam from mulberries

Even in winter, mulberry compote allows you to enjoy sweet berries that fully retain all their beneficial properties. Prepare compote as follows:

  • Place the prepared berries in liter jars.
  • Prepare the filling: per liter of water - sugar (half a kilo) and citric acid (five grams).
  • The jars are filled with boiling mixture and closed with a lid. The compote needs to be sterilized for forty-five minutes, preventing the water from boiling in the pan.

For 1 kg of mulberry:

  • 2 kg sugar;
  • 0.5 tsp citric acid.

Sort through the mulberries and trim off the stems. Place the mulberries in a deep container and sprinkle with sugar.

Separately, in a cup, dilute citric acid in hot boiled water. Do not pour in a lot of water; it is only needed to make the acid melt faster.

Pour the lemon water over the mulberries and mix everything well. You can beat everything with an immersion blender, or just work with a spoon.

Fill the jars to the very top, close them with lids and place them in the refrigerator. Here it can stand for up to 6 months and retain its fresh taste.
