But today we are especially interested in how to cook boiled potatoes baked in the oven. This method of double heat treatment of root vegetables can greatly change its taste. There are a large number of recipes, but it’s worth choosing the best ones from the whole variety and, of course, preparing dishes according to them. We will try recipes for boiled potatoes baked in the oven.

With butter

This simple dish can become both a side dish and act in its own right. Potatoes can only be left with their skins on if they are young.

What you will need from the product composition:

  • 4 decent sized potatoes. We calculate the quantity like this: 1 potato - one eater.
  • Butter - 100-150 gr.
  • Also, for boiled potatoes baked in the oven, you will need salt and pepper - to taste.

Potatoes: preparation

Root vegetables need to be washed using a brush and then peeled. After this, remove all dark spots from the pulp (eyes) and rinse again. Then cut into slices or cubes.

Take a suitable pan. Place the potato slices in a container and add cold water so that it covers the root vegetable by 1 cm. Lightly salt the contents of the container.

Place the slices on the stove. Starting from boiling water over moderate heat, wait 5-7 minutes. Drain the water and leave the potatoes in a strainer or colander. This technique will help get rid of excess liquid: it will drain.

Oil preparation

For boiled potatoes baked in the oven, you will need melted butter. Let's get started with the preparation while the potato slices drain and cool. In a thick-bottomed bowl (saucepan, saucepan), melt the butter stick over low heat. Don't boil it, there's no point.

Place in the oven

We will bake on a wide sheet with low sides. Generously grease the surface of the baking sheet with oil and place the boiled potatoes on the surface. Let's slightly change the technology and composition of the products - we'll get an excellent side dish. It would be unconscionable to serve something like this for a festive feast. Before deliciously baking boiled potatoes in the oven, let’s check our own bins.

There will most likely be the following products:

  • Potatoes, medium diameter - 6-7 pieces.
  • Cheese (any) - 150-200 gr.
  • Garlic - 7-8 cloves. If garlic is not one of your culinary favorites, do not add it, replace it with other spices.
  • Mayonnaise - 300-400 gr.
  • Salt and spices.

What to do with potatoes

It must be thoroughly washed and cleaned conscientiously, not missing small dark inclusions in the tubers. Eyes are not good for the body, so always remove them from potato pulp. We rinse the finished tubers again and place them in the pan. Fill it with cold water and add salt, as we usually do when cooking a vegetable, and wait the required time. During the process, it is important that the liquid does not boil over; this can destroy the integrity of the potato tubers. We need beautiful boiled vegetables.

Salt the water from the finished potatoes and dry the root vegetables by placing the dish with the potatoes on a hot plate for a few seconds. The liquid will come out as steam.

Preparing a cheese coat for potatoes

Grate all the cheese and place the shavings in a deep container. Peel the garlic cloves and press them through a press directly into the cheese. We put all the mayonnaise here, and then mix the ingredients. We give a little time to mix the flavors. After 5-10 minutes you can proceed to the next stage of cooking.

Place and bake

Set the oven to heat up to 200 degrees.

Cut the cooled finished potatoes in half lengthwise. Very generously grease the bottom of the baking pan or baking tray with any oil (lean or butter). Place the potatoes with the rounded side on the bottom. The cut should be at the top.

Spread cheese shavings with mayonnaise on all halves. On average, one potato should yield at least a tablespoon of mass. Sprinkle with pepper and dry herbs if necessary.

The oven has warmed up quite well, and now we can send our “workpiece” into its depths. We will bake the potatoes with a cheese cap until a beautiful blush appears on the surface.

I love potatoes in all their forms. Most of all I like fried. I know, I know that it’s harmful and fatty, but I still love it, what can I do)).

I tried this recipe for the first time, I found it on the Internet. A kind of deception, seemingly boiled, but then baked, in fragrant spices and with a crispy crust. Tasty!

Baking boiled potatoes in the oven is very simple. For this we will need the following ingredients.

Peel the potatoes and cut into slices.

Mix flour with salt and spices. I take my favorite spices - coriander, suneli hops, black and red peppers. Caucasian herbs or a mixture of Italian ones are perfect.

Boil the potatoes for 5 minutes, drain the water and let the potatoes cool slightly. The boiling time can be varied depending on the type of potato, increased or decreased.

Dredge the drained potatoes lightly in seasoned flour, shaking off any excess.

Grease the baking dish well with oil, lay out the potato slices and sprinkle with oil again. If you wish, you can add coarsely chopped onions, which is what I did.

Bake the potatoes in a well-heated (200 degrees) oven until golden brown. Take it out once and turn it over. Adjust the baking time individually. I baked it for 40 minutes.

Wash the potatoes and peel the skins using a special knife. The peel, of course, needs to be thrown away. Don't forget to also remove the eyes if they are present. Rinse clean potatoes with water again. Then cut the root vegetables into thick slices.

Step 2: Boil the potatoes.



Fill a saucepan with clean water and boil it, adding a little salt. As soon as the water boils, add the chopped potatoes and cook 5-7 minutes without turning down the fire. Place a colander in the sink and drain the water from the boiled potatoes, leaving the vegetable pieces themselves to flow around and get rid of excess moisture.

Step 3: Prepare the butter.



While the boiled potatoes are drying in a colander, melt the butter in a small saucepan. And then don’t let it cool down, maintain its temperature with low heat if you suddenly hesitate with other preparations.

Step 4: Bake the potatoes.



Season the potato wedges with more salt and pepper to taste and need. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Pour the hot melted butter into a heatproof pan and immediately add the potatoes, smoothing them all over the pan. Bake the potatoes in the oven for 45 minutes. But do not leave your side dish unattended, but after about 20 minutes Open the oven and turn the potato pieces over so that they are golden brown on the other side. As soon as the allotted time has passed and all the potatoes are golden and crispy, your side dish is ready, start serving.

Step 5: Serve the boiled baked potatoes.



Serve the potatoes in portions. Here you have a delicious, hot and versatile side dish. You can even serve it as a meal on its own with just a side of cheese, tomato or garlic sauce.

Advice. For this dish, the most important thing is to find a suitable variety of uncooked potatoes. I didn’t have the most suitable variety - the potatoes didn’t want to brown, no matter how long I kept them in the oven. Therefore, if your potatoes begin to acquire a beautiful crust after spending half an hour in the oven, that’s great, but if they still don’t brown, don’t keep them longer, that’s just the way it is :)

After half an hour, remove the pan with half-cooked potatoes from the oven and! Attention! the most important point, as Jamie assures :)
You need to press the potatoes into shape with a potato masher and flatten them a little. This is done in order to increase the area of ​​contact between the potatoes and the bottom of the pan - it helps the formation of a crust over a larger area of ​​the potatoes, and they bake more evenly.


Tear off the rosemary leaves and place in a bowl.
Add the unpeeled garlic cloves, drizzle with 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil (Jamie also added a little red wine vinegar, but that's a matter of taste) and stir.


Spread rosemary, garlic and butter over potatoes.


Return the pan to the oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes, until golden brown.
Serve the finished potatoes immediately; they taste best hot.

Advice. As I already said, instead of olive oil, potatoes can also be baked with butter or goose fat. For each type of fat, Jamie recommends a specific set of herbs. Although this is all relative, by combining herbs and spices you can create your own perfect potato;)
- Potatoes with butter: Sage leaves + garlic cloves (head) + zest of one climentine, cut into large strips (can be orange) + a little olive oil. Instead of butter, it is better to use ghee so that it does not burn during baking. The zest of the clementine (orange) adds a pleasant citrus aroma to the potatoes; it will need to be removed after baking.
- Potatoes with goose fat: goose (or duck) fat + garlic cloves + a couple of bay leaves + a little olive oil. Goose fat makes the most beautiful crispy crust.

Soft, juicy, aromatic baked potatoes with an appetizing crust - ideal for lunch or dinner. Serve it with meat or fish, whole or in pieces.

Very quick and tasty recipe. No need to fuss with potatoes for a long time. Use any seasonings you like.

You will need:

  • four garlic cloves;
  • mayonnaise - 30 g;
  • one chicken carcass;
  • any spices for chicken - 18 g;
  • potatoes - 1 kg;
  • salt - to taste.

Step by step instructions:

  1. Rinse the already cleaned chicken carcass with cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. Cut the garlic cloves into slices.
  3. We make punctures in the chicken with a knife and insert pieces of garlic into them.
  4. Roll the carcass in a mixture of salt and black pepper. If you like spicy foods, take red pepper.
  5. Dredge the entire chicken in mayonnaise and sprinkle some spices or dried herbs on top.

  • minced meat - 1 kg;
  • seven potatoes;
  • one onion;
  • one egg;
  • ketchup - 40 g;
  • milk - 50 ml;
  • salt - 15 g;
  • sour cream - 80 gr;
  • a piece of butter.

How to bake potatoes in the oven with minced meat:

  1. Fry raw minced meat with chopped onion.
  2. Transfer the resulting mass into a bowl, pour ketchup and soy sauce into it.
  3. Boil the peeled potato tubers and heat the milk.
  4. As soon as the potatoes are ready, mash them into a puree, add an egg, a piece of butter and milk.
  5. Place half of the potato mixture in a special casserole dish.
  6. Don't forget to grease the pan with oil before use.
  7. We process the cheese on a grater and sprinkle half of it on the potatoes.
  8. The third layer is fried minced meat.
  9. We cover it with the remaining cheese.
  10. Add the second part of mashed potatoes, grease the future casserole with sour cream on top.

  • mayonnaise - 50 g;
  • 1 kg of potatoes;

  • two onions;
  • pork - 1 kg;

  6. After the time has passed, check the potatoes with a fork - if they are easily pierced, the dish is ready.

Potato fans with cheese in the oven

Recipe Ingredients:

  • hard cheese - 70 g;
  • seven potatoes;
  • a pinch of ground pepper;
  • butter - 70 g;
  • chopped greens - 20 g;
  • salt - to taste;
  • marjoram - 10 g;
  • thyme - 5 gr.

Cooking method:

  1. Peel the potato tubers and rinse.
  2. We cut each one very thinly with a knife, but not all the way - so that the potatoes do not fall apart.
