Drawing on plates. Pictures painted with wine

Wine inspires, dilates blood vessels, clears consciousness... Is this why many brilliant creative people were accused of not being able to spend a day without its intoxicating company? The Italian artist also attaches to the bottle Elisabetta Rogai. But not in this sense. She has long been known both in her native Florence and far beyond its borders as a talented painter whose paintings were painted wine.

Neither the limited color palette, nor the variability of alcohol, nor other difficulties associated with painting stopped Elisabetta. For many years she tried to find the very ideal technique that would allow her to fully use wine instead of paint, and eventually settled on the only technique suitable for her, developed by the Florentine professor Roberto Banchini. Thus, the artist uses only red and white wine, without indicating the strength, first outlining the contours of the future drawing with charcoal. And no additional dyes!

The trick of paintings painted with wine is that their color changes over time due to the fact that the wine ages and acquires new shades. When a drink is stored in a bottle, we cannot observe this process. On canvas, everything happens much faster - and more clearly. Therefore, each work of Elisabetta Rogai is one and only. There is no other like this and there cannot be another one.

As you probably understand, the artist paints (non)wine paintings on the most ordinary canvases for painting, but she can also use other fabrics as an experiment. She even has a whole series of paintings based on jeans. And to prevent the wine from fading, the artist uses a special mixture based on water and flour.

If you love to draw and want to learn something new for yourself, then today this post is for you! Do you want to make an original gift? Put your imagination and heart into it? To create something unusual and beautiful that will delight you and your loved ones, then turn on the music that inspires you and enjoy creativity.

We need a living heart!!! JOKE, everything is simpler: watercolor paper, PVA glue, brush, red wine, ornament template, black cardboard, frame and passport. We don't need that much, right?! The main thing is a good mood and desire, let's start!

The first thing you need to do is choose an ornament; today it will be in the form of a geometric heart.

Using a brush and glue, we draw around the edges of the picture and wait for the glue to dry. Pour dry red wine into a glass and put it in the microwave for 5 minutes, let it evaporate. We apply wine on top of the drawing, like paint, let it dry and repeat the procedure several times so that the drawing becomes saturated.

Glue the drawing onto the cardboard, add a passport and a frame. Our picture is ready!

This unusual painting will be a wonderful and original gift or will decorate your apartment.

Create, create, get inspired, ideas for creativity - in everything!

Saturday is the day you want to spend, for example, with friends, in a cafe, restaurant, drink wine and relax. On September 30, we did just that: only it was not a banal get-together, but an evening in the company of a nice and sociable Yulia Sokolova- sommelier and wine painting teacher.

Julia has 1st Med and MARKHI behind her, but she found herself precisely “in wine.”

Our lesson began with a brief excursion into history region Galicia(in northwestern Spain), whose wines we then tasted, accompanied by tapas from Cafe PaPaella(and its chef Viktor Lobzin).

Galicia is a green region bordering Portugal, with many forests, a mild humid Atlantic climate, plenty of rainfall and mild winters, not very hot summers. This is, first of all, a region of white wines, Julia said, where there was little influence of the Moors; unlike the east and south of Spain, the zone remained Christian. Winemaking in this region, like throughout Europe, is associated with winemaking in monasteries.

white wines at our tasting

We started the tasting with the variety Albariño- dry white wine ZARATE (Albarino Rias Baixas VAL DO SALNES) 2016. We discussed shades and tones in the wine - minerality, floral shades, green apple, peach, chalk and honey at the end, enveloping, round, with good acidity, low alcohol content (12.5%).

We tried tapas with jamon, foie gras, tuna, cheese and grapes - great with white wine.

The king of white wines, Julia said, is Sauvignon Blanc. Grapes in Galicia are grown exclusively by hand; the mountainous terrain does not allow the use of machinery; pergolas are used for terraced vineyards.

The second wine in our tasting - Godelho varieties. It is produced by the Palacius family, whose importance for winemaking can be compared to the importance of Christian Dior for fashion. The grapes grow in the Valdeorras region (“or” means gold in Spanish), the variety itself comes from Valencia, Julia said. Dry white wine LOURO DO BOLO Godello Rafael Palacios Valdeorras (alcohol 13.5%). We noticed such shades of taste - pebbles, sea, slate (I felt the minerality of pineapple in the aftertaste). After it sat, thyme, rosemary and spices appeared.

Rafael Palacius, the youngest brother in the family, fell in love with this variety and brought Godello to a high level at 26 different sites in the mountains.

The first wine with astringent tannins of inky purple color is a young dry red from the Castillo and Leon region EL CASTRO DE VALTUILLE 2015 Mencia Joven DO Bierzo Raul Perez and the second aged 2013 (with the same data) with notes of brick, earth, pine, spices , fruits, blueberries and blackberries, pearls, rich color.

wine tasting

We then started painting with these wines. Drawing with wine is a rare art, Julia has developed her own techniques.

a kind of tutorial from Julia

my first sketches

First we tasted the wine on paper (I drew a pear, which everyone mistook for a pomegranate). Then sketches of the vine were made, with preliminary drawing in pencil. I am an artist from the word “bad”, so don’t judge strictly)). Julia taught us how to draw grapes to create volume. Next we moved on to the main picture. A casual technique (without a pencil or careful drawing) of drawing foliage. We were given more paint - evaporated wine for brown and burgundy shades. We painted the foliage with brown and the grapes with burgundy. Julia praised my foliage. I plan to make a frame and hang my picture on the wall at the dacha)).

my still life in progress

That's basically all, come to Yulia Sokolova's wine drawing lesson - see her Instagram @sokolova_wine_art.

wine cabinet in PaPaella - there is a lot of attention to wines

My girls Tanya and Marina and I ordered wonderful paella at PaPaella. And what churros there are! The location of the cafe is very convenient near Myasnitskaya and three metro stations - Turgenevskaya, Chistye Prudy and Sretensky Boulevard.

Thanks to Yulia Sokolova for a wonderful evening, and to Tatyana Glukhova and the PaPaella cafe for the invitation!

Polytech students Roman and Alexander Martikov decided to diversify the bar and quest leisure time of city residents. In search of a new activity, the brothers came across an Omsk project built on simultaneous tasting and drawing. The startupers have developed the northern concept into a full-fledged service: the team of the Malevich project is invited to weddings and corporate events as an alternative to unsophisticated alcohol entertainment. We found out how much it costs to go home with your own painting, who the organizers are counting on, and how much wine you can drink at the meeting.

No more difficult than holding a glass

Art parties "Malevich" are held in the format of drawing lessons. Plot or abstraction - the process is explained step by step and controlled by a guest artist. No special painting skills are required - you can come with a blank slate. However, according to the guys, art graduates also drop in on the parties: they say it’s not interesting to paint at home alone with the muse.

First of all, our parties are relaxation, and the ability to draw does not decide

Roman Martikov:“We do not position the lesson as a master class. At the workshops they teach you how to draw cool and explain the intricacies of fine art. We pay attention to training, but first of all we want to create a relaxing atmosphere: our parties are about relaxation, and the ability to draw does not decide.”

To make the event a complete and comfortable way of entertainment for both pros and laymen, the organizers thought through everything, from the choice of paint to the decorative elements on the easels. At the same time, they did not break the prices - a ticket costs 1,500 rubles.

The locations for art parties are cafes and restaurants - venues with music and an informal atmosphere

Roman Martikov:“We tried several types of fabric and, through trial and error, found a cotton fabric that ideally applied the paint. Russian shallows immediately: they are not bright enough and fade quickly. The first batch of non-toxic acrylic from the USA was rejected by customs. We found an alternative in Amsterdam with a representative office in Russia. They made the easels themselves, and small mustaches were cut out on each as a unique decoration. We ordered aprons from the studio - you won’t get dirty with paints or wine.”

The creators of leisure activities chose locations for meetings based on their relaxation concept. You can’t help but tense up in the art space, so we decided to live in cafes and restaurants. The first iso-party was hosted by “Varenye”, the second by the art bar “Y”. In the future, following the example of the Omsk Malevichs, they plan to hold a wine tasting, and a photo studio is being considered as a site for one of the upcoming classes - so as not to linger in restaurants.

You don’t have time to drink more than one glass - you’re too carried away by the process

The guys' goal is to show that you can take a break from work not only on Fridays, and that being a big deal doesn't always mean having a good time. That is why “Malevich” is not a weekend event.

But if you are still interested in alcohol, then an alternative to semi-sweet red can be a stronger analogue or a completely non-alcoholic one. Bohemian guys consider the drink a priority: wine adds the right aesthetics to meetings and prevents you from getting drunk. According to the ideologists of the project, no one drinks more than one glass during the entire art marathon - everyone is too passionate about the process.

Three-hour art therapy

The group can accommodate up to 25 participants. Despite the fact that everyone draws the same thing - the artist’s / artist’s blank, tracing is not necessary - rather, the opposite. Firstly, this way you will leave with your own work, and secondly, you won’t strain yourself trying to thoroughly repeat the sample.

We don’t have complex landscapes or still lifes: we rely on accessibility

Roman Martikov:“This is real art therapy. This kind of drawing is much cooler than the same anti-stress coloring books. You just paint your own picture, repeating only the basics. Unlike “coloring books,” you don’t have to follow the outlines. We will not have complex landscapes and still lifes: we aim for general accessibility. For example, we are planning a pop art evening.”

For the three hours that the lesson lasts, guests do not sit in deathly silence, and they can talk not only about art. The intensive is interrupted by ten-minute breaks - to take a break, discuss what you have written, or take pictures.

Corporate event in an IT company or kindergarten

Even at the start, the brothers identified a wide audience for their service. One of the options is team building, which, according to the creators of Malevich, is especially relevant for IT employees, managers and other knowledge workers. The calculation is clear: while the act of creativity uses the right hemisphere of the brain, the left one rests. The painted pictures can be hung in the office. In general, the options for use are like shades of paint. For example, brides are already ordering art therapy as entertainment on the second day of the wedding. The plans include children's matinees, for which easels are already being made. In general, “Malevich” has no age or professional qualifications - it should be of interest to everyone who is tired of monotonous leisure time and at the end of the day wants not to get a hangover, but some kind of personal masterpiece.

Wine has repeatedly served as inspiration for creators. And now we are not talking about the fact that after the first glass the muse comes, but about the very image of wine, which is captured in more than one picture, sung in more than one poem.

But there are also completely unusual ways to combine this drink of the gods and creativity. For example, paint with wine, like the Italian artist Elisabetta Rogai, for example.

Let's be honest, we were not able to reveal all the secrets of such drawing. One thing we know for sure: she paints with red and white wine. Besides, for her there is a difference between a wine that is worth drinking and one that is better for painting. Well, that’s what they are - Italians: they know a lot about Italian wines.

Usually in such cases it is better to show than to talk, so let's start showing the pictures.

What’s remarkable is that the wine continues to age even on canvas. Therefore, the color of the paintings is different: in recently painted (I would like to say, as about wine - young) paintings there are more bright red and purple shades, but in paintings with “aging” brown and ocher tones appear.

We will still reveal one secret to you so that you are not tormented by questions about how she does this. So, Elisabetta paints only with wine, without chemical additions. True, he uses water and flour so that the paintings age, but do not fade at all.

Each painting is unique. It is worth paying tribute to the talent of the artist who managed to create such masterpieces with such a meager choice of colors and raw materials.

So, if you have nothing to do in your spare time, then you may well try to master this type of creativity. Start with something simpler: with Kolobok, for example. But it’s better to drink wine bought at the WineStreet store and discover your special talents.
